Nobodies for Jesus: 14 Days Toward a Great Commission Lifestyle

Rate this book
Chuck Lawless loves the local church. He also loves the Great Commission. And one of his passions is to see every member of the body of Christ become a Great Commission member. The concept of Nobodies for Jesus is simple but take 14 days and develop a Great Commission lifestyle. The book weaves through numerous New Testament narratives to show how "regular" people, "nobodies," became somebody for the sake of the gospel. This book, if taken seriously, has the ability to transform individuals, groups, and even entire churches. The 14-day study guide is excellent for use in multiple settings.

A great short little read for each day to challenge one to pursue the Great Commission. Lawless is very personable in his writing and encouraging, making a process that seems complicated very simple.

Short. Succinct. Challenging. This 14-day devotional book encourages Christians to live out and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In each chapter, the author discusses something which helps or hinders a Great Commission lifestyle, and at the end of each chapter, he includes some helpful reflection questions. In a day when many Christians do not actively share the Gospel, I especially appreciated the last chapter: "Do Something: Tell Your Story."

Great Multifunctional Resource

I read this book as a personal devotion leading up to a local mission project. Now I’m leading a group of students through it at my church. In each context, it’s been a wonderful resource to help regain focus on Who our life is really about.

The challenges in the book are very compelling. It’s hard to move to the next session without at least having done something to point someone else to Jesus.

Study it, share it, live it!

This book has been such a great blessing to go into 2024 with! This book has been a great encouragement to focus on the basics: to be disciples of Jesus who are amazed by Jesus, become nobodies, and do something about what God has already done! I’m excited to see how I can join in what God is doing especially after reading this amazing book!

Good 14 Day Journal

This is a good supplement to go along with your Bible reading. I will say, that if you are going to get the most out of it, you do need to ponder some of the things Dr. Lawless says in this book. It will be a waste of your time to read it without thinking. The book will both challenge you and give a vision for being amazed by Jesus again.

A book to bring you back.

I chose five stars because this book has had a profound effect on my life. I went through each of the 14 days with a dozen members of my church. We answered each days questions and shared with each other by email. I learned a lot about areas I need to grow stronger and gain more insight in. I recommend this book to anyone seeking to follow the path of Jesus more closely

Great devotional from Dr. Lawless! The apostles were just ordinary people(nobodies), who did great things for the Lord.
