Up to this point, the series has been quite interesting and I've wanted to go to the next book. Then book 8 came along. It seems all the psychos were saved from earth's destruction. The winner of the psycho award goes to the deep sea Ark which ends up in the Grand Canyon with the statue of liberty and commanded by a psycho admiral appointed by the president along with 3 navy Seals who apparently enjoy torturing people physically and mentally. Not that the builder of the boat is any prize either. Then there's the deep earth Ark that sustained heavy damage in the collision and subsequent earthquakes. Who builds an underground shelter close to ground zero and reinforces with concrete that easily falls after an earthquake killing the only guy who knows the way out? And how about that secret zoo with the feral snow leopards who kill for the fun of It? Then there is the spacestation with yet another power hungry man in charge who has no problem leaving someone to die just because he doesn't like him. They build the spacestation with no defenses and don't realize the coment is going to leave something akin to an asteroid belt in it's wake. Then there is the Chinese spacestation run by a guy bent on revenge against the US for not saving his brother during the construction of their spacestation. And this is just the high points. Talk about a disaster. I just can't see reading the last 3 books after the mess that was this one. Sorry
Four arks have survive. The Russian survive the earthquakes but some animals escaped. Will they recapture the animals or will the animals kill everyone? The space station has lost over a year of their supplies, can they get them back. The seacreft has been taking over by the military, can the civilian regain control? Did the Chinese survive and what are they plotting? Great story.
Continuing on with the end of the world because of a comet series. I started this last summer and finally finished it. Unfortunately I don’t remember a lot from last year. I do know that things got really convoluted. I guess I was hoping for a quicker resolution/happy ending, but since there’s more books left in the series, I do t see that happening.
So frustratingly, I really didn't like this book in the series and a 3rd of the way through I would of given just one star, in my opinion so much was wrong in that 3rd, the book however picked up once it left the Russian Underground Arc so I've given 4 stars, I truly hope there's enough legs in the last few books, time will tell

Part eight in the Comet Clement series, this one has surprises for each of the three arks of surviving humans. Interesting that power struggles continue post apocalypse. I appreciate that the power mad are all men. ;)
I’m still a fan of the series, but this book gave too much backstory and I got frustrated at the repeat. There were some particularly nail-biting scenes, however, that kept me wanting more.
Although each book is a stand-alone, this one and the others have been very entertaining. I am fascinated by how easily the author can write more than 300 pages that only cover a few hours of the character's lives. I recommend this science fiction book and especially this author.
