In the second exciting book in the Rise of the Dark Angel Series, Phoenix comes to terms with the fact that the world isn’t what she always believed it to be. Jayden, who she’s fallen in love with, is a Dark Angel. He fell from the light, and followed Vyco through the darkest of places.

In this installment Phoenix, along with her best friend, Sadie, and their friends and family have enough of hiding in the dark. They want their world back and will do whatever it takes to accomplish that goal. They leave the cave and see what the world has turned into, but most importantly they begin to have hope, hope that they won’t be thrust in forever darkness.

They have to battle, not only enemy soldiers, but dark forces, as well. This story is filled with love, laughter, suspense, and the truest form of friendship.

I had a lot of mixed feelings about this book. In the first book, when Phoenix and Sadie got in the way when they wanted to help I would be like "ok I get why you did it but don't do it again". In this book, it got a little too much. For me it was a little confusing because at one point they would be like "Hey we girls are just as tough as you" then in the next they would be like "dude we girls aren't like you, we like to cook and junk". Also there was a lot of dialogue that was a little useless, I would just skim over a bunch of places and keep moving on from there. Most of my major problems are spoilers tho

I don't know if it's just because i've read so many Dystopian book that I am sort of desensitized, but I felt like Phoenix and Sadie were a little too emotional but who am I to know? Their friendship was one of the best things in this book, without it, it would not have been as successful. even when it got a little annoying, I loved their faithfulness to each other and when they were all "hey we need some girl bonding time so back off BFs". Very commendable.

Obliviously I will read the other books (because Jayden) but honestly, I feel like the most important parts of this book could have been compressed into fewer pages but clearly it was a good enough book that I will push on to the other books

Alright! So after the first book, I was like... Okay, this could get better and turn out pretty good. Especially because of Jayden. I liked him. Hence the Mmmmm category. But the second book not so much. I found myself rolling my eyes more then a few times.

Everyone seems to love Phoenix and Saide. But OH MY GOD! Could they get anymore annoying. All they do is tell each other and everyone around them how special they are and how much they love each other, and Oh how they are the best friends ever. BLAAA! Its like the end of the world meets church camp. I mean what the hell! That and the "girls" are always feeling left out and wanting to go on the missions. But the problem is THEY ARE ALWAYS IN THE WAY! They don't do anything but freak out and run into the only and every worst situation possible. Always causing her team to have some kind of disaster. I had to set this thing down several times, because I was super stressing out.

I think with this series, the author is just lucky I finish everything I start, otherwise this one is a no go for me. If you like fake cheery "OH MY GOD" people, then this is your book.

But don't count out Melody Anne, she does have some other very good books. This series is just not for me.

This is book two in the Rise of the Dark Angel series!

Phoenix has to comes to terms with the fact that the world isn’t what the humans believed it to be. Jayden, who Phoenix’s fallen in love with, is a Dark Angel. Jayden fell from the light. Jayden the decided to followed the evil Vyco through the darkest of places.

Phoenix, Jayden along with Phoenix's best friend, Sadie, and their other friends and family have enough of hiding in the dark. The humans want their world back and are willing do whatever it takes to accomplish that mission. The humans leave the cave and they see what the world has turned into. The humans want and need to have hope as they refuse to be kept in the darkness forever.

The humans have to battle. They don't only have enemy soldiers to fight, but dark forces to fight as well.

I need more than 5 *s but again need to settle for 5. I'd recommend this author and all her books

OMG where do you start, there was so much happening in this book that you really had to keep up, all our characters have things going on. I found myself slightly irritated by Phoenix when Jayden left, heartbreak is hard but to allow Devon in peeved me but like any romance you need the angst to know where your heart really lies. There is a lot to fight for in this book and I know even with the ending the next book will give more of everything. It still has cute romantic moments but not enough for my liking, we have a lot of fighting scenes, monsters, and Vyco, but there are some serious sweet moments between friends and family. I will look forward to reading the next in this series.

I really liked this book and the series over all so far. The only reason I did not give it a 4 star is because it just tended to drag....in more places than one. In the beginning I thought the writer was going somewhere with it, especially in the many, many, many times she flashes back (even more on Phoenix POV) I get it. The world is different now, no need to go into every other paragraph especially with the detail the writer seems to go on and on and on about...

Coming off my soap box.... I am enjoying the series, so much so that I have already bought and read the next book.... Would I recommend it to my friends? Yes.

This one is just as bad as the first book. Everyone adores Phoenix for some reason and they feel the need to tell her what a special little snowflake she is and how brave she is. Huh? She's not brave; she cowers in fear and makes ridiculously asinine decisions. The characters all just have to tell each other how much they love and can't live without one another. And they still speak in mini soliloquies.
I thought that book 2 would have been better. Guess not.

Action Packed Second Book

Wow, for me this series is just getting better. Right from the first chapter we are thrown head first into a book that is hard to put down. Evil Jessica makes another disgusting appearance, but you have to have the bad in this book. We have all the characters from the first book, plus some new ones. Devon plays a big role in Phoenix's world while Jayden is away.

The realities of this war torn world is shown to us as, our prime players make their way across country to claim an island. Vyco is making some horrible appearances , and making Phoenix have some horrendous nightmares. We are also shown the power of true best friends. Some odd the dialogue is empowering.

I, personally, was not put off of this dark book. For me, it's a good read and would recommend if you have read the first one. Looking forward to reading the next.

I really recommended it.

Not as good as book one

Easy read. Second book in the series. This book was a little drawn out. Middle school girls would likely enjoy this book.

I really wanted to like this series. I read the first book and gave this one a chance but the bottom line is, it's not very well written. The concept is there, even some of the characters are likeable but it's let down by the writing and bad editing! I can't be bothered with the third book...

I always imagine what it would be like to be in this world. Where everything is gone. Their positive attitudes would be hard to keep!

I really enjoyed the second installment of this series! It was well written and the pace did not feel rushed. Keeps your interest. Not a hot read but a good paranormal series.

If you like reading about angels (good and bad) then you will enjoy these books. Books are a good get away from real life and forgetting everything going on around you and these books definitely do the job! I would recommend this series.
