A duality has occurred; it is an event that hasn’t happened in more years than the ancient woman can remember. As with all dualities this one must be resolved – but what form will the resolution take.
A chance encounter turns Rick Brantford’s normal life upside down – will he be able to find the answers he needs in time?
OPP Constable Constance Whitt follows a series of brutal murders that takes her from the shore of Georgian Bay to the bustling streets of Toronto. With the aid of Doctor Holly Anderson, will she be able to find and stop the elusive killer she is stalking?
A series of unsolved murders has kept Detective Jim Hanson busy; each one more bizarre than the prior. Evidence points to the supernatural but Hanson has a hard time with that theory.
Who is Lilith? Is she what she claims or something more sinister? How does she fit into the puzzle that is unfolding?
Each of their paths will cross as an ancient legend is revealed to be walking among them – their lives will be forever changed as the truth behind the murders is revealed and the duality is resolved.

Wow, Primal Duality is such an original look at a “vampire's” life and totally not what I expected. Let's just say I was thrilled by this surprising murder mystery with a strong paranormal twist. Bryon A. Wells weaved a story that keeps you guessing, rivets you to the pages, and shocks you with the outcome.
I wasn't emotionally connected to the characters, but I felt like I couldn't look away until I found out what happened. Nothing about this story is predictable. The way we are guided through this collision of good and evil was brilliant. I especially enjoyed the native folklore.
The story is sexually charged, with “creatures” that thrive on that sort of adrenaline high. Many of the scenes in this story are dark, with primal and impulsive choices being made.
Primal Duality was a wonderfully entertaining mystery that will keep you white knuckled till the end.
I received this copy of Primal Duality from Byron A. Wells in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book for free for an honest review.
This book has been a page turner and hard to put down. I really liked the mystery of this book and I liked Rick, Holly the coroner and James the tracker. I think this book is very well written and would recommend it to read. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read it and review it.
Those of you still gorging on the adventures of vampires and looking for your next meal—this is it. While I am not one of the pack, I am a fan of Byron Wells’ writing and storytelling—he brought me into the world of Sci Fi with Amalgam (The Valaran Chronicles #1) and I’m craving the next full installment of that series. Considering the way Primal Duality is being received, looks like I might have to wait a while.
Just when you think there can’t possibly be a new twist on the Vampire phenom, Wells delivers one that will make your head spin.
Though I didn’t connect with the main character, Rick, the way I would have liked, I still had to know what the hell was going on with this guy… and wow, it was completely different and far more complex than I’d guessed in the opening stages.
Wells has you tracking down the truth right along with Rick and others. And of course, I’m a huge fan of anything that hints of legend. The descriptions of the primary setting make you want to see this ruggedly beautifully place for yourself.
Paranormal/Mystery lovers, nab a copy of Primal Duality and enjoy!
For those who enjoy quick-paced, action filled story lines, Primal Duality got it right. It is definitely a page turner from the get go. Rick is taking a break from work at his vacation home when things change for him. To make matters a bit more complex, Constance, the area's law enforcement, seems to have caught his eye. While trying to figure out what is going on with himself, Rick finally meets his maker, Lilith,a stunning and drop dead gorgeous vampire (more emphasis on the dead). At which point the duality is explained.
The author does a great job with having the reader follow and better understand the importance of this duality and why Rick needs to end it. It was pleasing to read Byron Well's interpretation of what vampires are "truly" like. The research done by Rick while figuring out what he and Lilith are and then Lilith's personal accounts, while somewhat different, made sense. Readers beware - you might want to make an impromptu trip to Ontario and take in the beautifully described area. I look forward to reading the sequel!
Okay, since I am the author it is unfair for me to review it so I wont. Instead let me say that I created this work to hopefully bring vampires a new twist.
The concepts of Duality and Dualism have been around for some time now. I choose to tie the concept it into the vampire mythos and add a supernatural element.
There will be at least on more volume. I decided to delve into the original duality. You will get more or Rick, Constance, Holly and Lilith...
I hope you enjoy reading the book.
