Irish Collar #2

Clancy's Collar

Rate this book
Clancy gave his heart and soul to Master Clarke for two years, even when he had to share him with another sub. But his devotion was not enough to prevent his Dom from discarding him like garbage and replacing him with a younger sub. Broken and lost, Clancy finds shelter and comfort in Master Dunn, who helps him heal and look for a new Dom.

Clancy's eyes are drawn to a handsome Dom who shares his interests, but he soon realizes he is not the only one who wants to be collared by Liam Flanagan. Many other subs are competing for his attention and affection. Does Clancy have the courage and confidence to fight for what he wants, or will he let his past hold him back?

Master Flanagan knows Clancy is the sub he has been looking for, but he must deal with the fact that Clancy used to be in a threesome relationship. When he learns that Clancy is free from his former Dom, he makes his move, but he faces resistance from some of his ex-subs and ex-boyfriends who are still obsessed with him.

Can Master Flanagan protect Clancy from his jealous ex-lovers who want to sabotage their relationship? Can Clancy trust Master Flanagan enough to let go of his fears and doubts, especially when some of his ex-lovers are his friends?

Keywords: Age gap, light BDSM, bookstore owner, hotel co-owner, jealous ex-lovers, hurt and comfort, Irish romance, spankings, and new friendships.

When Irish eyes are crying or laughing?

The BDSM world exists in the shadows of life from necessity to avoid acknowledging its unusual rules and practices for love and sex.

Dedicated to secrecy and brotherhood, privacy and shared moments, the clubs are found around the world in neighborhoods where there is money to sustain them.

This book continues the series with shifting alliances, jealousy, anger, disappointment, frustration, pain, whipping, bondage, discipline, love, attention, shared experiences, pride, and family conflicts.

As alignments and allegiance shifts with the seasons, the caring for each other makes it all worthwhile.

Narration 4 stars. The book is narrated by James Talbot, while this narrator isn't one of my favourites, he does a great job with the Irish vocals for the characters to bring them to life.
This is a fast moving Dom and Submissive romance for Clauncy and his transition to be with a new Dom, which wasn't easy with a few ups and downs with trust issues being just some of them.
---------------------------------
4.5 stars Clancy's Collar has an excellent start to the book set in Galway, Ireland, with Clancy finding his world ending that he had known.
Clancy, 24 years, gets dumped by his Dom after two years of service in the cruellest way. But Master Dunn is there to help him move on til he finds a new master. Clancy had a bookstore that he owned, which would keep him busy.
Liam, 34 years comes out to his friend, Darragh, as a gay Dom who had an eye on a sub he thought was out of his reach.
The story scenes progress quickly as they get to know each other in this instant-connection, fast love book. Clancy has only been single for a short time before meeting Liam.
Both characters have baggage that they both are still dealing with, which causes some troubles.
Hot sexy scenes happen between them, but also punishments as Clancy makes mistakes. A character pops into the storyline from the previous book to add a little drama to the story, which I liked; not expecting him.
Clancy and Master Liam's romance has a gorgeous ending but not without bumps for a HEA. The author has written this book with dual povs, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Clancy has been in a two year relationship with his Dom and another sub when he is unexpectedly and unceremoniously kicked out. He is sent to another Dom’s care until he decides what to do, or until he gets a new Dom. He meets Liam at a bar and the two are drawn to each other. As the relationship develops, Clancy needs to work through his trust issues and feelings of abandonment, and Liam needs to hone some of his Dom skills and deal with Clancy’s issues of trust and fleeing from situations he can’t handle due to his insecurity. Working on learning if the two can be successful as a Dom and sub finds them facing issues from exes on both sides and miscommunication, while clinging to a strong desire and belief that they are meant to be together.
Two interesting, complicated, well developed characters and many challenges from outside as well as in makes for an engaging story which includes characters from previous books as well as the opportunity for more Dom/sub pairings in the future. Easily read in an afternoon, paced to hold the reader’s interest.

Liam is a Dom who knows he wants Clancy and Clancy knows he wants Liam. That's the easy part for these two. What is difficult, is that Clancy has repeatedly been abandoned by those he's given his love and trust to so he has self-esteem and trust issues as well as a history of ghosting people when things get difficult in a relationship. Liam is a relatively inexperienced Dom who also has a couple of troublesome exes lurking about causing trouble and he has his own difficult history with coming out. These two have a rocky road to travel to finding peace with each other, but fortunately they have older and more experienced friends to guide them and give them both support and a good kick in the pants when necessary. These characters are wonderfully real and complicated. Loved every minute I spent with them.

Sometimes, you have to be willing to fight for what you want. Clancy, was committed and dedicated to Master Clarke even when he had to share him. Then Master Clarke dumped him for a younger sub. Broken and lost, Clancy finds shelter with Master Dunn. Master Flanagan has kept a careful eye on Clancy and when he saw he was free, he makes his move. Unfortunately, his ex-subs and ex-boys couldn't take the change and try to sabotage Liam's and Clancy's attempts to have a relationship. Liam and Clancy each drag their own personal baggage that makes their journey a bit difficult. Do Liam and Clancy find the courage to stand up for each other? The author does an excellent job, dragging you into the life changes of Clancy and Liam and bringing you onto their side. Good job, well done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Back in Ireland, I love these books.

We meet Clancy and Liam this time. Although many characters from the previous books are popping up, this can be read as a stand-alone book.

Set in Ireland, we meet characters from all walks of life, Doms and Subs.

Clancy has a bookshop but needs someone to be submissive to in his free time. He had that with Master Clarke, or had he?

It was well written and a fun read/listen.

James Talbot does a good job narrating, although I speed up to 1.20 on audible.

It is mutual, Clancy and Liam want to be together. But that is just where things started. Clancy's confidence has been nicked by past disappointments in the past and he is not sure that he is enough to compete with others. And there are others who want Liam. But Liam wants Clancy. He just needs to navigate some of his own issues including a couple of troublesome exes not quite ready to let go. They are fortunate that although their road to finding their ever after includes assistance from friends who help support, guide and push them to do that is best for them. They earn their HEA and it makes the story deliciously complex.

This book was a good read. The characters decently developed. The story believable. I can feel for each of the characters. Trying to find the right mate in a mix can be hard. The heartache that is attached to failure is even worse. The community can make that even more difficult to bear if people take one persons side over the other. The dependency on each other either Dom or Sub is much greater that what is normally found in a standard marriage. I hope that this time Clancy has found what he needs not just what he is looking for and that this relationship will last. If you are into a genuine M/M Romance I would give this a read.

Clancy is released from his contract with his Dom. Confused & upset he is taken in by Master Dunn, who helps him find his next Dom. Clancy meets Liam & wants him as his new Dom. With the way Clancy was treated & released by his first Dom, Clancy has mixed feelings about Liam. Does he or doesn't Liam want him, read on to find out. This was such a wonderful read! Clancy and Liam were such great characters and I loved watching their relationship grow. They each had their own troubles and had to overcome some issues. They made a perfect pair and had such great chemistry. This had a fantastic storyline that kept me engaged from beginning to end! A very enjoyable story!.

A great read
I throughly enjoyed this book and to be honest if everyone would leave Clancy and Liam alone they would be just fine. Past subs and Doms felt the need to butt in all the time.
Thankfully a master Dunn took Clancy under his week until he felt safe with Liam.
There are so many twists and turns
It’s a great read.
Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Interesting times ahead.

Liam Flanagan is a manager at the Emerald hotel and restaurant in Galway. His job seems to be his life lately after two failed relationships. Clancy O’Leary owns the local bookshop and in a relationship that seems strained. This book is part of a series of the love and drama in Galway. It is steamy, dangerous, and you see the giving loving side of so many of the characters. You also come across characters from the authors other book series. Heartwarming story with HEA.

Clancy got of a bad relationship and doesn't know if he can trust anyone again, He meets Liam at a pub and Liam tells him he noticed him before but he was with someone so he stayed away. Clancy and Liam start to date and old flames start to interfere in their lives. Clancy has to start trusting that Liam won't treat him as his old dom did. Liam has to start treating Clancy as his sub and not with kid gloves. I really enjoyed this book.

Clancy gets his one Dom

After Clancy is kicked out of his apartment by his Dom and his other sub in the relationship, he doesn't know what to do. Master Dunn took him in, but it wasn't long before Master Flanagan showed up and took an interest.
Both men had to deal with exs and the excitement and drama that came with it. There are reoccurring characters from the previous books in the series, which always makes a series better, in my opinion.

I always look forward to Brady's books. The story lines are excellent and the character development is beautiful. This piece was no exception. Liam and Clancy make a cute pair and I enjoyed their dynamic together. Learning how to be good a dom and a good sub at the same time made for an interesting read.

Clancy finds the perfect Dom for him. Liam has been watching and waiting for Clancy to be free so he can claim him. He falls for Clancy hard and when he finds out he is dumped by his Dom he wastes no time zeroing in on the object of his affection. Great book and now I am off to get the first one!.

I wanted to like this book, but the dialogue is stilted and child like. There is barely any description of the scene, emotions, or the spicy bits. Clancy has been broken down and has some issues with dealing with life and love. The story is a pretty good one, but Clancy’s growth is glossed over. The relationship he has with Liam is discussed, but doesn’t feel real since there’s little description of their feelings. I wish there was more scene-setting so I could visualize Clancy’s bookstore… Liam’s house and the decor during Clancy’s collaring… or the club where Sam steps up to Liam and Clancy and sets a huge glass dildo on the table.

Clancy's Collar is the second book in the Irish Collar Series. This is Clancy is a Sub who is discarded by his dom of two years and Liam is a dom who is looking for a subs story. The wanting to be together is the easy part everything else is the hard part. I love the way Brina Brady writes. Can these two find the peace they are looking for to be together happily. You will need to read the book to find out. I would definitely

I loved this book. Clancy's last relationship with Master Clarke and Rory has left broken and lost. Master Dunn helps Clancy by giving him a place to stay. Clancy is looking for a new Dom and he sees a man at a pub he later finds out is named Liam Flanagan. Can Clancy learn to trust again and have the Dom of his dreams or will past wounds destroy what could be?

“When I saw you at the club, I felt something for you.”

It’s always hard to write reviews for Brina’s books because I’m always torn and Clancy’s Collar is no exception. Brina writes stories with interesting plots and wonderful characters. As a matter of fact, her characters are where she shines the most. I always love how complex and varied they all are. The drawback though is that her actual writing is her weakest area. She has these fantastic characters and great plots but then the telling of the stories is always a bit disappointing. Too many inconsistencies, loose ends that are never resolved, unbelievable dialogue, wooden actions and an overall lack of real emotion in the bedroom scenes. I keep reading her books, though, because I do love her characters and I hope each time that her writing will improve. And I think it has over time but it’s still very much a work in progress.

Case in point is in this book. Clancy was just adorable in so many ways. He also broke my heart with his insecurities from being treated poorly by the people he cared for and relied upon. He truly deserved to find someone special who he can depend on to love him and be there for him forever. Liam was the perfect choice. Yes, Liam’s a Dom, but he was kind of adorable as well. He was so caring and nurturing I can’t help but think he has just a hint of daddy Dom inside, not that they have that element in their relationship. It was refreshing to see a Dom who could admit he wasn't infallible. Liam has a good heart and is exactly who Clancy needs. I’m sure they will have a very happy life together.

I look forward to the next book in the series, Tristan’s story and I hope eventually Brina writes a story for poor Rory who I think has been very much misunderstood and just like Tristan, needs someone to take care of him. Also, Jake is going to need a very special Dom to help him heal emotionally after everything he went through. And yes, I’ll read them all.

Three and a half stars I rounded up just for Clancy & Liam.
