ღ 𝗧𝗪𝗢 𝗪𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗦 ღ Is a full length forbidden romance novel by new to me author Kimberly Carrillo. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.' Wren (23 years old) Liam (23 years old) Griffin (42 years old)
Going into this I had my expectations switched onto all those angsty rip the heart out heart strings. Sadly those eluded me, but what I got instead was a book which had me within its grip as soon as I started it and didn't let go until that very last page was turned. This was written well, easy to get into, connect with the characters and hard to put down storyline. I loved these characters journey. This definitely won't be the last book I'll be reading by this author.
What will you get? 💋 Forbidden romance 💋 Age gap 💋 Grump and his sunshine 💋 Cheating 💋 Possessiveness 💋 Self harm 💋 Daddy 💋 Kinks 💋 Substance abuse
Straight away we're thrown into the midst of a marriage breakdown, if an absent husband on their five year anniversary wasn't bad enough add in the fact that she catches him in the act with his pants around his ankles in the backseat of his car was the last straw for Wren, taking off those rose coloured glasses made her realise that things had been been going down a slippery slope with her husband for a very long time.
Throw in the hot father in law Griffin when he's there in her time of need she's thrown into a tailspin when it comes to light that he's always had a soft spot for her which he'd had to hide for years behind his gruff attitude towards her. So for him to step in and help her through everything was unexpectant.
In my eyes Liam (the husband) for all his wrongs and there's more than a handful here didn't redeem himself, I didn't see him fix the wrongs he'd done, grovel wasn't in his vocabulary, and his father was ten times the man he was. But all in all everyone got their very own HEA.
Let me start by saying this book is everything I usually go for. I didn’t expect it to be so personal. I know what’s it like to love an addict, and it’s not so black and white and has a ton of grey.
Wren’s husband checks out of their marriage, and after six months, it comes to a screeching halt when Wren catches him with another woman.
Wren’s father-in-law is there or helps pick up the pieces of his son’s betrayal to both Wren and him. However, he is hiding a secret; as much as he puts up a front, he can’t stand her; he has secretly lusted after her for years.
As they realize their feelings for each other, they know this is for now and won’t end well. But both agree they rather have temporary versus nothing at all. Two Wrongs is an intense read with light bondage and daddy kink. If a book has a daddy kink, I’m always down to read it. I loved reading about their journey. It is far from easy, and their bond is unique and robust.
Liam, at most times, was annoying and acted like a child. But the addict versus the sober Liam is always two different people. He was already immature and a master manipulator before the substance abuse. He seriously needed to gravel and beg for forgiveness from all his loved ones.
Overall I did love this book and did recommend it.
★. Truly one of the worst books I’ve ever read. I was so ready for some taboo romance where the fmc moved onto better after being cheated on and what better than the cheaters father. I was let down to the lowest of low. First of all, the people in this town suck. They all knew Liam was cheating on Wren and just said “not my business” but told her to forgive him? Fuck them all. Second of all, the author throwing in a suicide attempt and drug problem to get the readers to feel bad was WILD. Third of all, Griffin you are 40 something stop acting like a child.
Griffin was horrible. Sorry but if the man who says I’m the supposed love of his life, I’d want him to hate the man who cheated and ruined my whole life not make me help that man. Griffin only cared for Liam and only wanted Wren to fuck. He had the audacity to ask her for help multiple times even knowing what Liam did to her. He then after Liam called her every horrible name ever RAN AFTER LIAM AND LEFT WREN ALONE?? Not one apology. Just a “you’re coming home with me”. And then again to ask “is the baby mine?”
Wren I liked you I did. But then you became a doormat with the words “baby bird” on it and you were ruined. Grow up and stop acting like Griffin is the end all be all. He doesn’t love you babe, he loves you down below. She only gets one star for banging her ex’s dad cause otherwise this wouldn’t have a rating.
There was no hope for this book after the 4th chapter when everyone in town stood by Liam and didn’t care for Wren. Griffin wasn’t a “grumpy” guy. He was just rude and dragged Wren everywhere. Waste of my time
This is an age gap, small town, taboo / forbidden, blue-collar hero, “he’s her ex’s dad” trope. I didn’t love it but also didn’t hate it. It hits the spot if you’re in the mood for these things.
This is about Wren, who’s 23. She married her boyfriend right out of high school, sacrificed a ludicrous amount of things for him for no reason – a scholarship to college, her money – only to have him cheat on her and steal from her. So, she starts sleeping with his dad, Griffin, who’s 42 and owns an auto repair shop.
Griffin has always been mean to her, so she thinks he hates her. Really, he liked her too much and was pushing her away out of guilt. Wren technically isn’t divorced yet from her husband when she starts sleeping with his dad. But they’re separated. So, if you’re a stickler for “no cheating,” you might not like this. But, her husband sucks, so who cares that she cheats on him with his dad - good for her, honestly. He also cheated first.
The steam is decent – there’s daddy kink, degradation, and D/s—and they’re both likeable enough. Although, Wren frustrated me a bit. She was a doormat for her terrible husband for so long. I didn’t hate her, she was too bland to muster up strong feelings about. But there’s a fine line between a heroine who’s pathetic in a way that makes me want to give her a hug, versus a heroine who’s pathetic in a way that makes me want to shake her, and Wren was bordering on the 2nd type.
With the trope, “heroine gets with her ex’s dad” a big factor in stories like this are how they deal with his son / her ex. In this one, it was the main conflict, and it got annoying. Griffin understandably wanted to still try and be a good dad to his son. But his son sucked in such an OTT way, it was aggravating that the story was even spending time acting like anyone should give a shit about him. Also, they both were a little too stupid and oblivious about how terrible he was. In the superior "boyfriend's dad" book, Birthday Girl, the son also sucked, but there were more plausible reasons that the dad didn’t notice for a while – they were estranged. Whereas, in this book, Griffin thinks he and his son are close. So, it makes less sense why Griffin was previously oblivious to how awful his son was.
It felt like Griffin and Wren both put up with Griffin's terrible son for so long just because that was convenient to the plot -- rather than because that made sense for their characters. And there was no resolution with the son. The book went as far as implying that he was borderline abusive to Wren. He’s still awful at the end of the book….then suddenly in the epilogue they’re one big happy family.
This book did an okay job of walking that tight-rope of having Griffin try to be a good dad to his son, but also be protective of Wren. He prioritized his son for a bit too long for me to be really happy with how the book handled this, but it was fine enough.
Birthday Girl remains the best, “hero is her boyfriend’s dad” book. That has a level of character depth and relationship development that this book doesn’t have. But, if you’ve already read that and are in the mood for a new one, this is a fine read. Nothing special, but not bad.
Color me SURPRISED AND SHOCKED!!! This was so freaking good! The first book I’ve read by this author and I don’t even know where I found it but HOLY HOTNESS BATMAN AM I GLAD I DID!!!
I have always hated the whole call me “daddy” thing but for some reason I loved it in this book! It was taboo and hot as fuck!!! Griffin is 20 years older than Wren “baby bird” and married to his son…so we got a double whammy right there! Not only was the sexy time good but the whole story was fantastic! I loved how things progressed with all these characters and how it ultimately was about broken people finding family through blood and bonds.
AND THE EPILOGUES!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!! I loved them and they just wrapped the whole story up in a beautiful bow!!!!
I will definitely be reading more from this author because I am impressed!!!
There is cheating in this book, however there is a whole story there!!
3.5 stars. I've read this author before and her writing isn't my fav. The 🌶 scenes were really good though. No twists that I didn't see coming. It does end in hea.
Wow I couldn’t stop reading this book. Talk about a taboo relationship…age gap with the twist of husbands (soon to be ex) daddy and he’s got a dirty mouth!!
As a fan of forbidden romances, I knew from the moment I stumbled upon this book, I needed to get my hands on it and 𝗪𝗢𝗪 I am so 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 glad that I did. This might have been my first read from Kimberly Carrillo, but it certainly will 𝗡𝗢𝗧 be my last!
𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗪𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀 was a beautifully compelling forbidden age-gap romance that captivated me wholeheartedly and left me completely satisfied. From the storytelling to the character development, I was 𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗘𝗗 and I found myself lost amongst the pages as I devoured all the deliciously forbidden moments that the story had to offer.
They may say—𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁—but when Daddy Griffin enters the picture after Wren's husband, Liam (Griffin's son) betrays her in the most unforgivable way possible, suddenly his attraction towards her doesn't seem so 𝗪𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚. Let me just say the chemistry between Griffin and Wren was 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗘! These two were 𝗔𝗟𝗪𝗔𝗬𝗦 destined to be—undeniably 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦. The moment these two 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 gave into their desires—all bets were off. There was just the right amount of 𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗦𝗧 that had you asking yourself—"𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆, 𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆?!"
If you love forbidden romances—then this story is 𝗗𝗘𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗬 for 𝗬𝗢𝗨!
All book reviews are based on personal preference and this book is one I would have preferred not to have read. Wren is in an unhappy marriage, trying to do the work of two people in a relationship. Well, her husband, Liam, has been cheating on her and has a whole bunch of other issues going on. People in town knew he was cheating, but never told Wren. Someone should've told her. Wren, who lost her parents young and latched onto a high school boyfriend in an attempt to find any form of family after losing hers, could've used someone looking out for her.
I didn't very much like the characters in this book... Like anyone. Liam's father, Griffin, finds an opportunity to admit his feelings for his daughter- in- law when she decides to divorce his son. Could be hot, I guess, if you don't think too hard about it. But... This wasn't. The dirty talk was cringe. The conversations at times made me wince. The behaviors,... you get the picture. Also, the characters weren't always the smartest. They ignored blatantly obvious signs, they made questionable and unknowledgeable choices. The writing was mediocre at best.
Sure the ending was tied up in a beautiful bow, but based on the characteristics and behaviors of these characters, the ending was highly unlikely.
Y’all. Wtf did I just read. I absolutely hated every single character in this book. Everything moved way too fast but also somehow incredibly, painfully slow. Literally every possible shitty thing to happen to a person, happened to these characters… THREE characters got knocked up, TWO fathers were left to care for a child. TWO other characters attempted to unalive themselves and SIX characters got married. Can we have a little bit of variation maybe?? Not to mention all of the men in this story are incredibly abusive and controlling- it’s honestly nauseating. Wren seriously needs so much therapy. Every character needs to mind their own damn business. The amount of times characters got all up on someone’s very private business or said “We NeEd To TaLk RiGhT nOw 🤪”….. like can we all shut tf and mind ya business (esp Charlie!!!!) and for heaven’s sake stop throwing women over your shoulder because they refuse to go with you. 🤮 This book is in fact the third and FINAL wrong.
(Thank you Candi Kane PR and the author Kimberly Carrillo for the eARC in exchange for an honest review)

This is my first book from the author.
The blurb and tropes sounded good but I did not fancy the way it was delivered in the book. The way Griffin and Wren talked was almost cringey, I did not relate to their attraction. I thought Liam was a childish man child and Griffin as his father should have stepped up better.
As a small town romance of course the aspect of the entire world being nosy was there and it was very annoying especially when Wren was trying to move on.
Everytime I thought the book was getting better, the plot became worse and more uninteresting. The content felt very toxic and I did not like it unfortunately.
I knew when it comes to infidelity references that this could be one of the scenarios that plays out and I’m kind of not mad at it. It was very hot.
Although I did think that the how they all became a family again was a little too ideal and very cookie cutter.
I wouldn’t mind having this in like book box, because I don’t mind reading this again. It was really good for what I was expecting.
Though I wouldn’t physically purchase this myself, but if it came in a big box that I was already paying for I wouldn’t skip or resell, if you get what I mean. And I would recommend!!
If you have a 'daddy kink', then this book is definitely for you because it's mentioned in every other paragraph.🖤 Unfortunately, I do not have a daddy fetish, so I found it quite cringe 😬- especially because this is her father in law. 🙈 However... this book actually did have an interesting plot. It touched upon other issues. I feel like it lost steam in the middle, which is why I haven't got through it at my usual pace. It did pick up at the end again.
From a realistic point of view, I don't know how a relationship like this would work long term, but it's only fiction, I suppose. It was not the best audio book, but it was OK.

This book was hot garbage. The epilogues solidified my opinion on this - those felt rushed and sent in. The writing had me gritting my teeth and cringing. This book just had a weird concept overall and the way it ‘worked out’ had me cringing as well.. How is your ex husband end up being your stepson at the end of the book and his oops baby that he had while cheating on you with your best friend is now your granddaughter? Uh, no. Stop it. Get some help. Don’t waste your time on this one.

I do not like the fact that Liam got a kind of redemption. He is a cheating, lying, abusive, and delusional piece of shit. He has the grace and decorum of a reversing garbage truck. I wish he has stayed lonely and sad for the rest of his life for how he treated Wren The same goes for Wren’s best friend. Girl was delusional and pathetic😒 Spice:🌶️🌶️🌶️3.75 (Daddy Kink) Love story: 3.50

This book was addictively fun. Wren is going through the worst season of her life, she finds her husband cheating on her, but it's only the tip of the ice berg. After she lost her parents at a young age, her husband was her only family. To lose him is a big loss. In comes, Griffith, her father-in-law who has always acted cold to her. But the reason for that was the longing he had for someone he couldn't have. They are both hurt by the actions of the person that connects them, and it drives them together. Griffith is possessive and claiming when it comes to Wren. And for someone who needed someone to want her, to fight for her, it becomes something she can't give up. These two are fire together, and the chemistry is sooo good. I love the "we can't be together but can't stay away" vibes, and I love the way that Kimberly wrapped it all up.
Um, this wasn't a bad book. . .but it was not for me and it isn't one I would recommend to people I like. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were amazing, but if I was reading the physical copy I would have DNF'd with the first, "Call me Daddy." *barf* Something about that kind of role play scenario gives me the ick.
Other than that, the drama was soap opera worthy. Because it was some DRAMA!
I love a good forbidden romance and this one has it all. I honestly thought Wren would drive me crazy but this heroine has a backbone! The summer before her senior year she suffered a huge loss and years after getting over that she goes through the ultimate betrayal. Yes during her marriage she loses her voice, is full of self doubt and self loathing but when she finally finds it again it’s empowering to witness. Daddy Griffin was quite simply *chefs kiss. Did he need a slap round the head a time or two? Well, yes but he got there in the end and did good. I wasn’t sure Liam was fully redeemable and although his behaviour and actions were utterly inexcusable I truly felt the demons he was facing. The side characters brought a much needed light heartedness with their banter and helped bring the rest of this story to life. The writer dealt with sensitive topics in this book with such empathy and emotion, it’s was honest and raw and quite simply eye opening. The two epilogues really brought the whole story full circle and I loved it. I thoroughly recommend!
I immensely enjoyed reading Two Wrongs, and I was not prepared for all that was unleashed as the story progressed. I was wrapped up in Wren learning about her lying, deceitful ex-husband, and Griffin, the most unlikely person to help her pick up the pieces. This book comes with trigger warnings, so please heed them. My heart shattered several times for Wren and all that she went through and everything she had to overcome. I highly recommend reading this book. I devoured this book in one sitting.
Please read the author’s special note at the start of the book for a list of trigger warnings!

Personal Note: I have to be honest; this has nothing to do with my overall enjoyment of the story. But my younger cousin's name is Griffin, so I had to change the MMC’s name to Geoffrey (Geoff) in my head while reading this. It helped to not make me vomit during the spicy scenes and such.
Liam is caught cheating on Wren in the first chapter of the book. So, me bringing it up in this review is NOT a spoiler.
This book has two of my favorite tropes: age gap and ex’s dad (specifically father-in-law). So that alone made me want to read it.
These particular tropes usually follow a formula when it comes to the overall plot. This one was the same while also being different. Many times, the plot in books containing these tropes is very surface-level. Doesn’t matter; I still eat that shit up like its candy.
However, this story had a lot going on. It was rather deep and covered a lot of real-life issues and trauma. I found to be unexpectedly heavy at times. I did get caught up in my feelings a bit. There was so much more to this than just a story of two people taking part in a forbidden relationship.
I have no idea if any of that made sense.
I can usually enjoy a good daddy kink if it’s done right. This one was sort of off for me. It was a bit weird. I didn’t hate it, but I also didn’t love it.
The whole “baby bird” nickname thing just wasn’t it. I cringed so hard every time Griffin, AKA Geoff, called Wren that. I hated it so much. The fact that Wren folded like a piece of notebook paper whenever her daddy lover used the nickname only make it worse. The ick was real.
Although, in general, the chemistry between Geoff, formerly known as Griffin, and Wren was well done. The dirty talk could have used a tiny bit of work, but I enjoyed their overall banter as well as the push and pull between them.
One thing that took the wind out of my sail big time was that I figured out who Liam’s mistress was very quickly. I had guessed her identity three chapters in. It was supposed to be a secret and most likely tried to set up a big reveal/shock, but it was so painfully obvious as to who it was. It was a bit of a buzz kill.
Wren was also the stereotypically “hot girl." Short, tiny, fragile, with a body to die for (big boobs and a luscious ass). I’m not saying women like that are bad. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. But let's get some variety here, people!
At the start of the story, Wren is looking forward to celebrating her five-year wedding anniversary with her husband, Liam. We are initially told that she had been off work that day because it was Saturday. Which is great. I love when celebrations fall on a day off from work. However, three pages later we’re told the anniversary and all the events that occurred during that time took place on a Friday night.
As the story goes on, the anniversary stays on a Friday night, so I’m thinking at the start of the book the “Saturday” was missed in editing. At the end of the day, it’s not a big deal. It happens.
Another inconsistence in the book was Wren’s level of education. Early on in the story, I’m pretty sure Wren said she got her associates degree in accounting, but later on she states that she only had a high school diploma. Again, not a big deal, just something I picked up on while reading.
I didn’t like how everyone knew about Liam’s infidelity for months before Wren found out and didn’t say a thing to her. They were all like, “Oh, it wasn’t my place to say anything.” I can see maybe people not close to her keeping their mouths shut, but close family friends knew and didn’t say a damn thing! Especially Charlie! This guy had no qualms about getting all up in G’s grill about every aspect of his personal life, so why did he have such an issue getting all up in Wren’s? Why didn’t he at least confront Liam about the affair?
Why were Wren and G so worried about how Liam would react once he found out about their secret affair? He had done them both dirty. His opinion should be irrelevant to them. Trying to prevent Liam from being hurt should have been at the very bottom of their to-do list. It probably should have been removed all together.
Why was Liam even in their lives at all after all his bullshit came to light?
Liam was a crap person, and people kept defending him! Like what the shit!? People also kept expecting Wren to sacrifice herself to help Liam sort out his life, even though he was the bad guy in this situation. I can sympathize with his struggles, but dude was just a bad news bear. Sheesh.
Liam faces zero repercussions for his actions. Other than losing his wife to his dad. People just accepted what he did and moved on with their lives. NO! NO! NO! This man needs to be held accountable for what he has done to the people around him. People who love and care about his well-being.
Geoff (Griffin) also knew that what Liam did to his wife was wrong. He was pissed off at his son but still took his side anyway. He was all like, “Well, he’s my son, so I have to be there for him.” Despite caring for Wren and wanting to make sure that she was alright, he constantly picked Liam over her. It was infuriating.
No matter what Liam went through, he doesn’t redeem himself in the end. At least he doesn’t to me. He shouldn’t have gotten his happily ever after. He didn’t deserve any of the good things that fell into his lap after he destroyed everyone around him. No, siree Bob.
Of course, everything in the story was wrapped up in a neat little bow. That’s fine. It just seemed off. It didn’t seem like the ending fit the narrative. Maybe it did, and it’s just me. All people involved got a HEA, and I love that for them.
Except for Liam. I don’t like that HEA for him. Although you guys already knew that.
Overall, I liked this book. In the end, it won't be something that stands out in my mind down the road, but I enjoyed reading it in the moment. It just ultimately won't go down as one of my favorites.
TLDR: NOT A BAD READ IF YOU’RE INTO THESE SPECIFIC TROPES! WORTH CHECKING OUT!

Wren catches her husband Liam cheating with a woman in the back of his car. Liam’s father Griffin is with her and he takes her home. Griffin is hateful towards Wren, but he is hiding his intense attraction to her. Wren leaves Liam and moves out of their apartment and files for divorce. Wren and Griffin start to realize that there is an intense attraction between despite the nineteen year difference, and Liam has a lot of secrets that are coming to light. Can Griffin and Wren be together or will it just be a secret affair? Great characters and storyline Highly recommend Amazing book. Love Griffin and Wren. Wren’s character development is excellent and the supporting characters are amazing. This is my first book by this author definitely not my last.
4.5 ⭐️ This was such a great story! I loved the tension and angst. It hit at some hard truths and did it in such a real way, it was intense and incredible. There were some really great laughs, (I almost choked I laughed so hard at one point). It was hella hot & absolutely beautiful. It has amazing support characters.
I liked this a lot but I didn’t love it. I needed more angst, I needed to feel more turmoil, more heartache. I didn’t. However, I loved the little bit of DD/lg play. I loved the chemistry between the main characters.
This is my first book by this author and I think I’ll be checking out other books by her.
