The book is an illustration of patterns designed to look like earrings worn by famous movie stars. Shows you how to make them and explains the inspiration and colorways of the designs. Best part of the book is that the designs are named after the stars, without outright coming out and saying 'yes these are a pair of earrings in the style that Jean Harlow wore.'
I appreciate so much that the book covers the classic stars, although disappointed that the variety of earrings worn by the more modern stars are so similar. They all use the technique of stacking and wrapping various firepolished beads to a wire frame. Although this is a popular style, especially right now in 2018, I was hoping for a bit more variety.
I do plan to make several of the earrings from this book, mostly for my mom who is a big fan of most of the starlets in the book.
And I plan to make the aforementioned Jean Harlow earrings for myself. :D
Many notable stars from the 1960s era are not included, which is one of the more dissapointing parts of this book. But overall, not a bad book, hard to find fresh ideas for earrings, and the modern take is great for keeping on trend.
