With an underground organization determined to silence her and her knowledge of their secrets, Piper has been living under the radar, trying to stay a step ahead.
Her world full of secrets and pain that she can't escape, will she be able to protect her men from her past or is she leading them to meet their end?
This is the first book I read by Story Elizabeth and I was freaking hooked from page 1! This was unlike any RH I’ve read. I loved the feisty FMC! The story and spice had me hooked and the climax I was shocked and screaming at my kindle! I literally couldn’t stop reading this book! I loved that all the guys were so different and each gave her something different! Definitely check triggers warnings, but if you like hot firemen who are also morally grey this book is absolutely for you!!
Wow!! This is the second book by Story Elizabeth that I have read and wow, just wow. It was just as good, if not better than the first one! I really hope there is a second book to this as I need to know what happens next!!
Get the ice cubes ready! The aircon on full blast and batteries put into you know what's!
I loved this book! Who couldn't love it?! It has s3xy firemen, one lucky (also unlucky) woman who has a fire inside of her and can kick a$$. Great read!
Nothing like a good smut book. But mix in 4 insanely hot firefighters and you’ve got yourself one heck of an RH 🔥🥵🔥 The plot is amazing and suspenseful. Spice is out of this world. A must read
Wtf.. I'm ready to throw in the towel at 25% here... I love a fiesty fowl mouthed fmc - but this chick is just a petulant child who swears. She's annoying.. Nothing makes sense... firemen find homeless girl, firemen f*ck homeless girl. Why, because she's different.. Homeless girl runs away swearing - repeat for 85 pages. Homeless girl breaks down crying because she was kidnapped years ago... huh? There's zero character development, no connection being built between fmc and harem. The plot sounded like it had a lot of potential, but the delivery fell flat. I'm just gonna DNF this one and call it a night...

Please make sure to check TW before starting this amazing story. The spice in this book is off the charts and happens early on which I love. Piper is such a strong women who has been through so much. Axel, Brock, Josh, and Theo are all amazing and infuriating at the same time. Throughout this story there was laughter and tears and I got some weird looks from people that were around witnessing my reactions.
OMG folks I suggest you sit in front of the AC and fan when you read this book. The MFC is cocky but strong heroine with four alpha males that would protect and love her at all cost. Couldn’t stop reading until the end.
I'm starting to think this was written by AI.. there is just so many errors and plot holes.
There was also just some ridiculous aspects of the story...
Like the fmc causing an accident with the ambulance she was in and the driver almost died and need surgery but.. she doesn't get in trouble or feel guilty at all for almost killing an innocent man? okay...
Like the fmc being on the run from the man that kidnapped her when she was young and then conveniently AS SOON as she is actually letting people in her life she founds out he escaped prison when she didn't even know he had been caught? It's just plot for plots sake..
Also the guy is in the news but the guys don't know his name after seeing it? And when they call the prison they say they can't give out his name but it was on the news...? If it was big enough to be on the news with his face surely his name would have been on it too...
When the fmc is in a diner to get some food while running from the mmcs and the "sirens and red and blue flashing lights surrounded the diner." But then it sounds like it's just one police car? Is is surrounded or what? Also they wouldn't have surrounded the place for a runaway.. the entire thing was so ridiculous. I don't mind some creative license but this was just too obnoxious.
On page 177 she says it's fine to be intimate without a condom because she "gets a depo shot once a month" but on page 76 she makes one of the guys promise to get her the pill in the morning (which is never mentioned again btw...) because she has NOT had the shot in THREE months so she is "due for another shot." So....? Is she covered? Did she get the pill? Did she get the shot again? Which is it? Is it possible she is pregnant? I find it hard to believe maybe she is just that forgetful.
Also the timeline of stuff happening was just so confusing.. All of a sudden a month has gone by but things that happened are being referred to as "yesterday"..
What really ruined it for me was when all of a sudden Piper mentioned getting "the tracker" out of her neck and it's spoken about as if everyone already knew about it? As the reader I felt like I was thrown into the deep end with that scene because it was literally NEVER mentioned before and apparently it's something they have spoken about before.
And lastly... "Piper, shut up. This isn't for you. I'm stepping in because I know that if you don't get your way you're going to turn into a nine-year-old and throw a goddamn fit, then run away and do it anyway. I'm skipping ahead to the part where you don't act like a selfish bitch and make us worry about whether or not you're going to die on the way there." pg 213.
- He's not wrong but yelling at her, telling her to shut up, and calling her a b*tch is borderline emotional abuse and not my cup of tea. And it shouldn't be your's either.
I enjoyed this story, if not a little difficult to read towards the end. Piper has literally been through h3ll and back before escaping. She remains strong and feisty and continues to stick up for others regardless of what she’s been through. But wow she hit the jackpot with four super s3xy fireman that are determined she stays with them. Axel is the ‘Daddy’ fire chief, Brock is the romantic Frenchman, Theo is the playboy and Josh is the one trying to get over his ex. They all have their own wonderful personalities and kinks! But together they make an obsessed, protective, loving, super sexy group of men that would do anything to keep Piper and to keep her safe. There is lots and lots of steamy scenes between Piper and each of her men, with a little plot and of course a rough section towards the end, but there luckily is a HEA.
What a second book by this writer! Honestly, she had me at 'four hot firemen', and she definitely delivered exactly that - heat, spice, fire... see what I did there?
Piper is the kind of heroine who's been through hell, and somehow come out the other side, and that's why she deserves not one, not two, not three, but four amazing men to love her and protect her!
I'm an Axel girl, I'm just going to say that straight off. That doesn't mean that Brock, Josh and Theo aren't hot AF, because they are, and they each have their distinct personalities, and quirks (kinks), but yeah, Axel really floats my boat.
He's older, dominant, protective, kinky and rough, and yeah.... he is ALL the things! Did I say he's mine? He is!
So, the story... dark, heartbreaking, challenging, beautifully crafted and just intense as hell. Don't plan anything else the day you start this book, just sink in and let it wrap you in dark naughtiness. This is firmly in my reread pile, and I'll be eagerly awaiting anything else this writer gifts us!
Unexpected in some ways and predictable in others. It's definitely an insta-love and insta-lust RH story, so some of the time lines are unrealistic. However, it's quite a fantasy. I love the story and it's easy to enjoy it once you get past expectations. Having 4 hottt firefighters fall hard for you and want to protect you but still respect your autonomy is a dream. Speaking of, my favourite nickname so far in a book, "mon rêve," which means "my dream" in French! She's literally the girl of his dreams.
It's very spicy, and quite dark. TW for non con, person-napping, and more. But Piper!! Sometimes she's annoying, but she was tough the entire time! She never backed down!! She was a warrior and a survivor, not a victim. I loved that the most. 3.5⭐ but the story deserves a round up. I will read more from this author.
This was great! Such a great story. When Piper is on the run she meets up with four hot firemen, Theo, Brock, Josh and Axel who she fears is bringing them her trouble. This was high action, loads of intensity and danger. But the steam and romance was fiery hot, pardon the pun. The boys were all so different and they cared about Piper so much. They themselves a team that worked together they were close knit and when she came through she added another facet to the group dynamic. This wasn't just a steamy book, but had a great storyline that had me enthralled from start to finish. A truly great book and a first for this author but definitely not the last. Fantastic story!!
Everything I knew it was gonna be. Well from, reading the blurb it had me hooked already and I am happy I didget to read this story. It is about firefighters finding their love. The spice is awesome and the story well written. The fmc is strong and leads a life under the radar always looking and careful about her every move. Now it gets complicated when meeting 4 firefighters and she will do what she can to keep the, safe from her dark world. The guys however aren't whimper and know a thing or two. Age gap but holy hotness it was amazing. If the author decides to write another story here I'd be the first to read!
I loved her spicy brat but in a cute way attitude the reason its only 3 stars is I dont like how the guys all blend together like other than Axel the other guys all blend together. not really have enough unique or distinct things that made them stand out from one another. Also when it says the doctor found out who she was from a blood test is ludicrous that is not how science works and is so laughable.
I downloaded this book expecting a romantic suspense RH involving firemen, but this book just fell flat. I love a bratty sassy FMC but she just read spoiled and immature, and the guys in this book were all overbearing and not in a hot protective way. It was also very instalovy and This book was 95% smut with 5% plot that made no sense. This book was just not for me I am DNFing at like 70 percent because I was just not enjoying myself.
This was, to pardon the pun, a hot read. Piper was as strong a FMC as I'd want and Axel, Brock, Theo, and Josh were so varied in personality but all steamy when it came to their moments with Piper. Each's approach to her was intriguing to watch and the slowly unwinding story around Piper's secrets was thrilling to watch. Definitely a thrill ride to suit any fan of steamy contemporary romance!
