I’ve really enjoyed Cheryl Yeko’s work when she’s writing as Cici Cordelia with Char Chaffin and have been meaning to read the two author’s individual work for some time. As I had Abducting Casey sitting on my Kindle, I decided I would start with Cheryl Yeko before going on to read Char Chaffin.
Although I enjoyed Abducting Casey, it wasn’t quite what I had hoped it would be. It gives us a story that has been done a few times before, and as it’s one of my favourites I went in expecting to be wowed. I was addicted to see how things played out, sure, but I wasn’t as crazy about Abducting Casey as I have been about the Cici Cordelia reads I have read.
I can see where Cheryl Yeko influenced the Cici Cordelia books, though, and I am of the believe I’m likely to enjoy other Cheryl Yeko books. I think my problem is this one wasn’t quite for me, with it being a bit too insta-love for my liking. I much prefer to watch things slowly develop between the characters, yet in this one the emotions hit almost straight away and took away from the thing I enjoy most about such stories.
I’ll certainly give other Cheryl Yeko books a read, though, as I think it was a case of Abducting Casey not quite being to my taste rather than a reflection of Cheryl Yeko that had me enjoying this one less than expected.
I hate when the heroine, who's an adult, acts like an immature child. Lost count the number of times she stomped her foot. Who does this anyways? Total crap.
Right off the bat...too many uses of deity! Seriously, do author's not know how to get a point across without using such words? Overall it was an OK read. I thought the characters were believable even given the short time they had to know each other. It was kind of a fast pace read and entertaining just the same. I was happy with the writing, the author did a good job at expressing herself and not making the reader (me) feel like I was reading a book that was written by a 3rd grader. By the way, those books are just terrible if you ever come across one.
Matt "Rock" Sash and Casey (something or another) The author compared him to Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson in the book which gave me a nice visualization to think about while reading. I think Casey was a decent female character. I never really thought to myself "oh no, not one of those females" while reading.
Rating: R+ (sexual content, profanity, guns, bombs, bad guys) Language: Use of deity, profanity and sexual content Recommend: probably
The plot of "Abducting Casey" is not new. The storyline swings between all four characters, with the likable secondary characters almost stealing the show.
The realistic characters and storyline made this the best of this genre I've read in a long time. Casey had the right mixture of gumption, tenderness, and class. Matt was the perfect undercover agent. He had the brain, charisma and bedroom finesse. I may revisit this book in the near future.
Casey is kidnapped by two men in her own home. They take her to a warehouse to await for a man who is a terrorist. Her father owns a security company and they want him to relax the security around the president, so they can plant a bomb. Matt is undercover in the organization and recognizes Casey immediately. He been half in love with her since he first saw her picture and falls even more when he sees how strong and beautiful she is. He takes her for himself so they other men can’t rape her. She’s frightened but something about Matt calms her. When they are rescued and Casey kills the head man, they think it’s over. Until they find out he was not killed and now a bounty is on their heads. She’s kidnapped again and Matt gets taken so he can rescue her. Can he save her before she is killed? First time reading this author. Very good story and believable characters. Steamy sex, action, and suspense. A thrilling page turner. I truly enjoyed it.
I'm no expert in reviewing some one else's writing.. I'll just express my opinion.. To be frank I think this book might be for girls aged 18 and there abouts.. Seemed really immature to me.. I felt like stopping to read it, but just couldn't.. I needed to complete the story and was cursing myself at times for wasting my time..
Didn't like it, but couldn't stop reading.. So that's gotta be something
With some action and steamy moments. The side story of Jacob & TJ is incomplete and kinda useless. Characters are likeable and interesting. Only complaint is needs editing. Some incomplete sentences and it's a pitcher of orange juice, not a picture of orange juice. Good grief.
I had a hard time putting down this book! Full of suspense, intrigue, and love. Was terribly disappointed with the ending tho. Way too much of the stories were left unfinished!
The writing of intrigue was good. The romantic writings good. I just had a hard time envisioning romantic antics in the underworld settings. What kept me reading was the whodunit!
Casey finds herself kidnapped and held hostage. Unknown to her one of yhe men holding her is undercover. How they escape and find love is unusual but fun. Sit back and enjou
Undercover agent falls in love with kidnapped daughter of security firm working with HIS and FBI. Protecting her and ultimately taking out the terrorists brings a happy ending in this well written book.
Enough suspense, enough love to make it a good story. Matt is very appealing and Casey is catches his heart. The supporting characters are just waiting for their story to be told.
Really enjoyed the story however not sure how much I liked all the jumping perspectives. Really enjoyed the storyline and hope to find more with the same characters
This book was riveting! From one disaster to another, the main characters Casey and Matt/Rock keep you riveted to them! If you like romantic suspense, this one is for you!
A good sorry. Didn't like the use of the Lords name in vain, skipped the sex scenes. If you take all that out the story was good but it also cited the book down i half?!?
