A gut wrenching and heartbreaking account of the neglect and abuse suffered. I still have tears in my eyes as I write this review. I couldn't put the book down, and stayed up until 5am reading it.
This must have been an incredibly difficult account to relive and write. I cannot begin to comprehend how much trauma was suffered, and caused by the very people who were supposed to love and nurture a child.
Appalling that as a child she slipped through the net and was let down so many times by authorities who should have done more to prevent further incidents from happening. The outcome could have been so different. If you are a parent, cherish your children, love and protect them.

This is a true story of a young girl called Sophie who was born in a dysfunctional family. Both her mother and father were violent towards her and neglected her. Sophie was also sexually abused by both her father and grandfather. Social workers were useless and let Sophie remain at home for a long period of time. A very heartbreaking story of how Sophie went through the abuse to finally being saved.

Astonishing!!

Just couldn't put this book down when I started it. It seems horrible that something like this happens, but the truth is that it does. I'm so happy that she didn't let it affect her as how she could be a mother.
