Excellent book. Gets right to the heart of the A+ Certification. Lots of questions and answers that were similar to the real exams.
I felt very prepared after reading this book. I also used the Practice Questions book. Both are easy reads, yet in-depth.
Background: I was already A+ certified but my company requires that we update to the latest version of the cert within 1 year of its release. This was the easiest and cheapest way to do it. Thanks David L Prowse and Exam Cram.

Generally, a very good and informative book that uses non-intimidating language to help prospective A Plussers like myself get a good grasp of the material. It also does a good job of introducing a reader to the bullshit world of bullshit multiple-choice questions where only one of two desirable outcomes is truly correct!

This is a study book so to say I really liked it is only in that context. This is concise and accurate information for anyone who wants to take and pass the CompTIA A+ certification exams.

It is not really a training manual as such. If you want in-depth information and instructions on learning about computers then you should get one of those 1500 page manuals or go to school.

This book was just what I needed to refresh my knowledge and stress the important details. Most subjects are short and intelligently written with a quick quiz at the end to check your knowledge.

I have not yet taken my exam nor even done the practice exam included in the book. I just feel confident now that I will be successful once I have mastered the materials as they are presented here.

Note that this book is published by the same company that administers the tests so I think that they have a good idea of what I need to know.

I will update this review if I fail my test. Otherwise, you can expect to see more reviews for books by Pearson IT Certification.

I read this cover to cover and diligently took all the practice tests several times in preparation for the A+ exam and I passed both the 801 and 802 with plenty of wiggle room. I definitely recommend this as an excellent resource for anyone who is hoping to obtain their certification. It's a thick book, but it is actually fairly easy reading given the subject matter and Prowse takes care to break things up in such a way that your brain doesn't get bogged down with too much information. Several of the questions on the actual test were nearly verbatim from examples given here. The CD with test simulations is particularly valuable.

Be aware that when this book was published the A+ exam did not include Performance Based Questions and there is no coverage of those types of simulations in this text. But, if you really pay attention to what you're reading, I found it was still helpful in working through those while taking the real exam - particularly the tricksy questions.
