3 stars *may change it was…fine ?? i dont really know what to say. it wasn’t cute or great or bad. it just exists. i don’t know why everyone recommends it as a romance manga
It's very refreshing to read something in this genre in which the characters are not complete idiots. These actually seem close to real people, and there's no needless suspense or cheap tricks. It's just nice to read.
An average last volume to a series that started out well enough and then just kind of fizzled out into mediocrity. I liked the first volume, because I thought it would be about twenty-somethings being quirky and nerdy in a cozy ragbag of an apartment. And for a little while, it was exactly that. And then it turned into a passionless, aenemic romance between two people that felt like they've been married for 40 years. This can be cute, but to me it wasn't. It wasn't fun or escapism, if I want to look at boring relationships out of convenience I don't have to look further than my own circle of friends. That being said, Bonnouji is still an entertaining enough read, but not a must. The art is clumsy and wriggly at times and not always the best, but it fits the cluttered theme and mood of the series.
Binged through this entire series a while ago and it improved upon re-reading! Currently sad that there are no apparent official English (or Chinese) version that I can buy.... It's rare to find a romance manga with a career woman as protagonist that is so understated and relaxing to read. The humor is very light hearted, the pairing is infinitely shippable, and the friends are amazing. There's something very understated and realistic about the entire thing. Though comics with the world-ending epic romance dramas have their places, this type is delightfully refreshing!
This three-volume story, unbeknownst to me, put down roots into my heart. After spending a pleasant morning reading it, I suddenly realized my cheeks hurt: I had been smiling for hours.
It's an incredibly good feeling to experience this story. So simple and yet absolutely engaging. The two MCs quietly, gently, and comfortably--but not without some tension!--build something full of laughter and deep joy.
It is a surprisingly ordinary story made extraordinary. If we all could have partnerships that felt so!
Jilid terakhir.
I'm usually not comfortable with this type of drawing, but the relationship between the protagonists was so nice and comforting that I kept on reading and forgot about the drawing.
It is a fine manga. There is nothing to say more than that. I recommend this manga for the ones who want to read something short and can be read faster. However, the last part is a bit off.
2.5 - If you ask r/manga for a romance recommendation, there's a 99.9% chance that you'll see this title in at least two of the responses with a few more children replies attesting to its greatness. I'm not overly ecstatic over Bonnouji, but it's not bad either. It follows the development of romance between Oyamada and Ozawa, and that's all there is to it. There is nothing than can be called conflict between them. It's just so... chill and so natural. It doesn't have any drama at all, as in zit, nada! It feels so... weird, I'm not used to it! That said, it was kinda flat actually, but enjoyable at the same time.
This volume as an individual piece is a 5, this series as a whole is a 5. I rarely rate 5 stars and even some of my first 5 star rating I have gone back and updated them. But this volume/series is a work of art. I feel as though this is a relationship I would truly cherish and I enjoyed watching every awkward, patient, polite second of it.
The last volume in this series. I will miss this series. It was a cute one, though at times frustrating because their relationship never seemed to go anywhere. Still it is a series I would recommend to people. :)
