Sure children might be in danger, but please stop and have sexy time. That is the responsible, smart, adult thing to do. The characters are unlikable, the plot absurd, and the slang bad; "pussyville" and "fatty", really?!
So... I was really excited about this picture/prompt combo. I was interested to see a story about two priests falling in love. The author decided to go a different way with it, which is fine, but so far two guys are undercover as priests looking for two missing children but once they start looking for them Mac decides it's a good time to have a heart to heart with Greyson and then they go back to their room to fuck with some disconnected dialogue that doesn't really mesh and Greyson literally diving in even though he's never been with a guy before and was all weird and hot/cold earlier... not sure but I just don't think this one is for me.
Is it bad that I would have found two committed men of the cloth committing unspeakable acts less offensive than reading about two so-called professionals simply abandoning - even temporarily - the children - CHILDREN! - they were searching for (to the extent that they were making out literally beneath the very feet of the suspects) because they were THAT consumed with themselves? I didn't think so. The rest of the story might have redeemed itself (?) but I couldn't get past that part. :(

This was an interesting take on the picture prompt. Generally speaking, I liked the concept of the story, but there were a couple of items that I had a hard time getting over. The first was the sequence of events – I had a hard time believing anyone would stop in the middle of a dangerous situation and want to have “the conversation” much less sex. The second, was some of the terminology used in the story – there was nothing I found sexy or appealing about referring to a guy’s cock as “the fatty”. Sorry, I wanted to like it more and really appreciate the author’s donation of this story, but it sticks as “okay” for me.
Buddy read with the gorgeous and lovely FantasyLiving.
Okay, I liked the cover and really liked that this book was free!
This book has some of this: And this:
The descriptive of ‘fatty’ for ones body part made me giggle and immediately think of: and Which to be honest, isn’t that bad :D
Overall, not a deep story, not something heart-wrenching or timeless however; it’s free and held it’s own.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
This story confused me a bit in the beginning. I felt like there were missing paragraphs that the characters inferred in the second chapter, but I couldn't see where it was described or alluded to in the previous chapter.
After that mishap, it went well. The story stayed on track, and it flowed ok. I would have liked more depth. It felt rushed, and the characters felt light. I suppose it would be difficult, given the plot, for the romance portion to build strength. The sex scenes were sexy, and well described. Overall, the story idea was good. With a larger word count the characters could have been stronger, and there would be more length to really tell their story.
I will keep an eye out for the development of this author's work.
I feel like we got the middle two chapters of a book. No beginning. No end. Just randomness. The ptemise itself wasn't bad. The idea of two priests, racial background of no importance, being attracted to eachother is in my opinion very sexy and interesting. Making them into kinda crappy spies is where this got lost for me. I felt like I had no clue who these characters were. They also seemed to be floundering in their own relationship. Why do they need to repeat that they have feelings for eachother soo many times? It was hyatt an odd story...
This plot was full of holes, I couldn't connect to the characters, because I felt they weren't comunicating. And moreover, who thinks About love and sex when there are two children in danger?
“The Road to Hell” is a free read (Kindle Unlimited) offering by author Sara York. I hear tell she’s the queen of love at first sight, there’s the rule and here is the exception. This story starts with two long time friends in perilous danger and discovering or rather owning up to their feelings.
So much happens in this story that it almost reads as if it was never meant to be short. There’s also a feeling of being left hanging. There’s more here, but this is all we get. Go on Ms. York please write the next installment. I rather liked Grayson and whatever unsavory deeds are in his past and keep him repeating his particular mantra—well, I want to know this.
I'm a big fan of friends to lovers romance and I love when it occurs in a military or detective romance story. This one wasn't as smooth as it could be jumping back to the past, to the present and then presenting a secret in Grayson's past, but I still enjoyed it as a quick read with a strong plot, likeable characters and good relationship. Hope there are more stories about Mac and Gray. They certainly know how to make the most of their down time in a dangerous situation.
It's a good novella. I did want a little more back story on Mac & Grayson. I gave it 4 stars because I think it could've been a tad longer & have more action & info on the kidnapped kids. I enjoyed the references of pussyville & fatty. Made me giggle. I often get tired of hearing just pussy, cunt, dick, & cock. I think Sara York did a nice word change up there.
Yikes. I rarely ever DNF, but this one is an exception. I'm afraid I'm not even sure where to start with what I didn't like about this one. It was free so there will be no book bashing. I'm just going to say this one wasn't for me.
this book was free, which is why I gave it two stars. I don't really want to bash it, but this story really needs an editor. the writing was too dramatic and unbelievable. I think I could almost see how romantic it played out in the authors had, but it just didn't translate onto the pages for me.
The story seems to start in the middle. Then the author tries to cram all vital info through the story. This story was okay but left more questions than answers.
Danger and love all at the same time. Mac and Grayson have been friends and partners and maybe now a whole lot more. But first they have to stage and rescue and get out alive.
