This is the first book I read from author Aaliyah Rose and boy am I glad I did.
A story of a Don’s daughter who narrowly escapes a massacre of her mother and brother thanks to her desire for Santino, aka “Sandman”, a guard for her father. Since she laid eyes on him, she’s desired him for years. The night of her and her fathers birthday, she decides to act on that desire.
Santino recognizes the look of longing in Amara’s eyes but he’s no fool. Having sex with his boss’s daughter is a sure way to get himself killed.
He’s lured away from the main room by her and that act saves her life and his.
When all is said and done, Amara is sent away from the city to protect her until all those responsible all found and killed.
When she returns eight years later, Amara is no longer the inexperienced, and scared girl she was when she was sent away. She is a woman who knows what she wants … to run the family business
Surprising her father on their birthday, she announces she is home to stay. He’s sure he’ll send her away again but Amara will have none of it. She’s out for blood. For those who killed her mother and brother and the one who has wronged her.
The story quickly escalated with intrigue and surprise. No one more surprised than Sandman when he sees how the years have changed her, in very adult ways.
If you are a fan of hot sex scenes and a great story, I highly recommend this book to you. You won’t be disappointed.

Being that I am fairly new to AALIYAH ROSES writing I was honestly not sure what to expect when I first sat down and started reading Unforeseen Return . But man did I find myself so very quickly becoming utterly invested in Amara , Santino and Angelo’s emotional rollercoaster of a journey . A journey that is guaranteed to grab onto all your emotions so fast and. Pull at your heartstrings so completely. There were moments I was speechless and others I was on the edge of my seat heart beating so freaking fast . I honestly could not put it down , it’s just that amazing . Wonderfully written characters, dark , raw , gritty, intriguing, emotionally charged, twists and turns, reverse harem , mafia , heartbreaking, heartfelt, angst , drama , non stop action and so much more . What a phenomenal start to what I can already tell is going to be a awesome new series

Wow great start to the series. It does end with a cliff hanger and while I don't usually read books like that, I really enjoyed this one.
It was about Amara the Don's daughter who returns back from Italy for her fathers birthday and expecting to stay, despite protests from her father. She takes on two body guards Santino and Angelo who do everything to please her.
I loved the dynamic between the three and it was so great the way she stood up for herself in a Mafia man's world. Can't wait for the next one to come out!!

Amara has her work cut out for her. She wants to make her father see that she is more than capable of managing his mafia organization. Amara begins to show all of the group just how strong of a woman she has become and not the girl they all remember. This book is a page-turner! The characters and the scenes come to life on each page! Lots of drama, romance and adventure. I can’t wait for book 2!

This is a well written book with a cast of strong characters and an interesting storyline. The author does a great job packing a ton in this short story. She pulled me in with all the drama and action. Add in the romance and she delivers a terrific story and a great start to a new series!

I am not a fan of the reverse harem genre, but the mafia angle made this story intriguing. I particularly love Amara with her take charge and take no prisoner attitude. A woman of strength and attitude in a man's world. Amazing story and characters and I can't wait to see what's next in store for us.

Unforeseen Return: A Dark Mafia Romance (Illicit Reign Book 1) by Aaliyah Rose – This was a freebie series starter, but the rest of the books are on kindle unlimited. She survived a hit because she was fooling around with her bodyguard, but she didn’t let it break her. Amara is done hiding, and boy howdy is she ready to prove that she is up for running a mafia empire! Happy Reading!

I love a strong woman who stands up for herself and takes what she wants. I also like how she got even with the man that hurt her as a child. I can't wait for the next one to find out if her father is proud of her or not. He should be in my opinion.
