Melissa Pearl was born in Auckland, New Zealand, but has spent much of her life abroad, living in countries such as Jordan, Cyprus and Pakistan... not to mention a nine month road trip around North America with her husband. Although I thoroughly enjoyed reading the first two books, Unknown and Unseen, this last book in the Elements Trilogy was certainly the grand finale. From glorious battles and magnificent heroism to the most tender of romantic moments and heart breaking scenes of farewell, Unleashed has it all!

Jethro, Kyla and the Element children have the light of Oron; now they must find a way to overcome the darkness in their world, defeat the evil king Ashan and free the city of Taramon from the enemy. Athra, on the other hand, is seeing his city and future kingdom taken apart stone by stone. At the start of this story things look dire for all the good people of the light but as the whole message of this book is:
"A light can shine in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it", there is always hope.

Filled with adventure, suspense and nonstop action, this page-turner kept me riveted to my chair. Don't think Unleashed is all about hype though. In the pages of this book you will find a wealth of wisdom, some extremely touching romance and events for which you will definitely need Kleenex. Although there is a love triangle in Unleashed, in the entire trilogy in fact, it isn't aggressive and does not dominate the story.

In this last book I could see how much the three main characters, Jethro, Kyla and Athra, have grown since I first got to know them in Unknown. The bad guys, and especially king Ashan, his diplomat, Safeer, and the dark sorcerer Nafees, achieved a higher level of thoroughly evil in this book.

Full of trolls, dragons, dark magic and lots of bravery, Unleashed should appeal to a vast range of readers. If I could give this book more than five stars, I would. For readers to get the whole picture, I must advise that you read the first two books, Unknown and Unseen, before reading Unleashed. (Ellen Fritz)

Everyone believes that the prophecy has failed, and King Ashan and his dark forces have taken Taramon, now that he has nothing to fear from the prophecy. With Taramon defeated, Ashra and the rest of the men are being forced to tear the city apart brick by brick, while the queen, and the women and children are being taken by Safeer to Mezrah to face Ashan. But the prophecy has not failed; Kyla and Jethro have found all four of the elemental children and have accepted the light. Now Jethro and Kyla must rescue their people and bring light to the world which has for years been overwhelmed by Darkness.

Unleashed is the really good last book in the elements trilogy and it has a lot more action and fighting than the last two books. However, I did feel that this book was a bit rushed and I felt it could have done with an extra 50 pages.

The characters are the same as we have grown to know and like from the first 2 books but one thing I did find irritating was that the characters where either good or bad, and there was no one who was in-between. I also liked the different creatures in this series, but my favourite one is Flynt, and I wish he was real, as he was so sweet.

I will be reading more of Melissa Pearl’s books as I really enjoyed this trilogy. I would recommend Unleashed to fans of the first 2 books, Unknown and Unseen.

Finishing this trilogy has been a long journey, but such a satisfying experience.

Unleashed is my favourite book in the trilogy. It's so full of action and emotion. Practically everyone I've spoken to who has read it has said they cried at one point or another. I cried writing it, so I like hearing readers experienced the same emotions I did.

Thanks to everyone who has given this series a shot. I really hope you enjoy the conclusion.

Unleashed is the final installment of The Elements Trilogy. If you haven’t read the first two books, Unknown and Unseen I recommend that you do. If you would like to read my reviews of these two books, you can read them here: Unknown and Unseen.

All four of the element children have now been found and they have also located the orb or Oron seekers need to begin sharing the light of Oron. Only by sharing the light can they defeat the darkness pf the evil Ashan and his dark army. Though Taramon is further away than Mezrah, they decide to head there first as Taramon will welcome the light and it will strengthen them to defend themselves.

Jethro and Kyla know that once they return, even though they are desperately in love with one another, they can never be together because she is betrothed to Athra and they work hard at keeping themselves apart.

Little do they know that Taramon has been taken over by Safeer and the people have been enslaved. The women and children have been removed to Mezrah and the men have been set to work to demolish their own city.

I liked Kyla’s strong personality that enabled her to be independent, courageous, strong-willed, and sometimes got herself into a little bit of trouble. She didn’t want to be in a position of leadership, yet sometimes she found herself there. When she was, she fulfilled the position well.

I liked that the author chose to include the allies that the seekers met along the way. It added some fun to the story too. Flynt was particularly endearing. It made me sad when he had to return to Vulcan Peak, and extremely happy when he and Kyla were reunited, just the same as when I pick my pet up after a period of separation. I guess it doesn’t matter what the species is!

I enjoyed the pace of Unleashed. It was fast and full of action. Ms. Pearl did an excellent job of portraying Ashan’s army or underlings as evil. There was nothing to like about them at all. I thought the parallels between Ashan and the Devil and God and Oron were well done.

Unleashed was a wonderful follow-up to Unknown and Unseen. I would highly recommend this trilogy to anyone who enjoys fantasy. Unleashed deserves 5 stars out of 5!

There are so many things I could say about this book, but I don't want to give away any spoilers so I'm going to try and curb my enthusiasm. This is by far the best book in The Elements Trilogy. Everything which was built up in Unknown and Unseen comes to an emotional and action packed conclusion in Unleashed.

First thing I want to say is I love the character of Flynt the dragon. He reminded me so much of Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon.

Kyla and Jethro's romance, so sweet and wonderful in the first two books, becomes heart wrenching as they near the moment when they must part. I enjoyed this love triangle because it was a little different from what you usually see. Kyla isn't in love with Athra, but her mother chose him to be her husband and she feels duty bound to go through with the marriage. Athra is a good man and I think he truly cares very deeply for Kyla, but he doesn't love her so much as the idea of her as his wife and queen. Kyla is far too willful and headstrong for Athra, who is mostly well grounded and even tempered. Jethro is also a good man, struggling to do what he knows is right no matter how much it hurts.

These characters are amazing. So real and complex. And I was really glad the author chose to tell the villain's side of the story through the eyes of Safeer who, while certainly a bad guy, is also a real human being who is capable of love and sorrow. Ashan is a terrifying villain, but by virtue of being thoroughly evil, he is far less interesting as a character so I'm glad I didn't have to spend too much time with him. The brief glimpses I was given were more than enough to establish how truly vile he was.

The culminating battle between darkness and light is nothing short of epic. Fantastically written and thoroughly gripping, it had me biting my nails one minute and wanting to jump out of my seat to cheer the next.

Unleashed is a powerful story of love, faith, and sacrifice. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful trilogy. If you enjoy epic fantasy with plenty of adventure and just the right dose of romance, you should totally check it out.

“Unleashed” is a marvelous conclusion to “The Elements” Trilogy. It was captivating right to the end and was jam packed with action, love, heartbreak and suspense. In my head and heart I knew how I wanted the book to end and I was not disappointed.

Action, Action, Action is what “Unleashed” brings us. It can be hard to balance dialogue with action but Mrs. Pearl did it successfully. I could feel the tension and at moments my heart started to race. I could envision the joy at winning certain battles and the despair of losing ground in others.

While this series centers on having faith in a grand scheme or something bigger then ourselves, it was never automatic. The characters struggled with their own demons and had to work on believing.

I am not going to say to much about this last book so as to not ruin the conclusion but that it was superbly done!

Over all this series has been a delight. I found it to be wholesome yet intriguing and as an overall trilogy I rate it 5/5 Stars.

It’s always a bit sad when a series ends. But less so when the ending is this great. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, so it will have to enough to say that everything came together and I was totally satisfied.

Things I loved: I loved Flynt. And I loved that even when the characters accepted the Light, not everything went well. They still struggled with belief, worry, and fear. It kept the characters and the story real. And I loved that the characters always had to work together. No one was ever enough by themselves.

The ending had a great balance of action and character growth so that the pacing was perfect.

If you’ve read the first two books, read this. If you haven’t, get them and then read this.

There's plenty of romantic tension as well as adventure in this third installment to the Elements Trilogy. Kyla and Jethro travel halfway across the world to battle men and monsters, magicians and demons. Along the way, they make friends and form alliances with dragons and trolls. And at the end of the quest to save their kingdom, they're still in love. But Kyla is promised to Jethro's cousin and is trying very hard to do the responsible thing. Melissa Pearl kept me guessing about how things would turn out, right up until almost the last word!

How do you resolve issues started in the first two books satisfactorily in the third? Ask Melissa Pearl.

The Seekers and the Elements are finally together, and after the city of Taramon was taken over by Mezrah and Ashan, they need to spread the light and gain supporters to release Taramon's men from captivity.

The resolution of the Athra, Kyla, Jethro triangle was wonderfully done, and just when you thought you had the story pegged, Melissa pulls the mat out from underneath you.

Definitely an awesome and action packed conclusion to the Elements Trilogy.

I absolutely love this series, and although I'm a little sad to see it end, I know the author has more interesting things up her sleeve for us! That said, this was a wonderful ending to this trilogy, as there's love, loss, action, romance, and some magic thrown in to help it all along. I was enthralled with all three books from the moment I began, not wanting to put them down until I'd reached the end. I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for the author's next work.

This is a great story ! I loved reading about Kyla and Jethro. Once I started reading this trilogy I couldn't stop til I found out what happened. It is page turner and I read the trilogy back to back til I was finished ! I just can't say enough about how I loved these books and did not want the story to end ! Unleashed is the third book in the Elements trilogy. Taramon was been taken over by the dark army, Ashan has the queen, and Kyla and Jethro's love for each other has only grown despite not being able to be together. Will everyone survive, will the dark win. Read to find out what happens. Melissa will keep you on your toes guessing. You will not be disappointed with this book.

Wonderful end to a terrific series

I loved this series and the plot. The characters are wonderful and the message that good always triumphs over evil is told in a very suspenseful way.
I flew through this book and could not put it down. It has trolls, dragons, magic and the element children that have unique and awesome powers.

I loved the main character Kyla and how her faith grows throughout the whole series. We have to choose the light on our own and spread the light.

A good finale to this trilogy. Every story was fully told without having to have a neat bow wrapped around them. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this series and thus its creator. I will definitely be finding more of Pearl's work.

This one was the book that made the whole series worth it. An unusually motivated heroine (going to do the responsible thing instead of running off to be with her lover) who is independent and courageous, comes to find herself and grows her character into a wholly realized person. The trials and tribulations of Athra here also redeem him from being kind of a bonehead in the previous book to save my respect for his character.

The new characters are fun and add interest to the book and also add a dose of hero-ally conflict that helps the characters grow as people. Flynt the dragon is charming, and the children are such loving additions to the family.

Really liked this one, definitely recommend this series - good in the beginning, ok in the middle, great at the end - like a lot of good trilogies.

Loved how the light worked. Athra will make a good king, laughed at his comment to Kyla about becoming grumpy a d despised. Glad at how things worked out, an unexpected twist there with Athra and Kyla.

Amazing follow up to the other books! Really enjoyed it, although the ending was a bit... sudden. Got really into it especially near the end, even though the element children 'died'
