This a 3 book series. Remembrance, Vengeance, and Timeless. What a great series by Michelle Madows. I love her books and this box set was a must read.

Book 1 REMEMBRANCE:

Lizzie is a normal teenage girl. Her relationship with her boyfriend, Jeremy, is rocky at best. They're not exactly a happy couple. Of course there's the dark, mysterious stranger, Drew. Lizzie is attracted to him right away, But her best friend Chelsea, wants him too. And Lizzie already has a boyfriend.
The plot is well written and flows well, I connected with the characters and events and places and didn't want it to end.
This book made me feel for the characters and the world really did come alive.

Book 2 VENGEANCE

Short story to tie up Book 1 & Book 3. This is told from Chelsea's point of view. (Book 1 & 3 are Lizzie's point of view).
After being dumped by Drew and betrayed by Lizzie, Chelsea wants revenge. But how far is she willing to go.

Book 3 TIMELESS

This book carries on from book 2 perfectly and is full of plot twists. This book also features a time travel plot, now being a BIG Time Travel Fan, i'm very picky about it. It has to make sense both before, during and after. Michelle handled the whole situation perfectly and made it exciting and enjoyable. I actually found myself looking forward to reading and in fact finished the whole book in just one day. I couldn't put it down.
The magical and fantasy elements also take on a bigger role this time, which I really enjoyed. Chelsea is still angry at Lizzie. And since the spell, Lizzie is now having some freaky omens. She keeps seeing crows, Lizzie and Drew decide to go see Alistair, And they narrow it down to two suspects, either Jeremy or Chelsea. Once Jeremy has been eliminated, Lizzie must figure out how to find out exactly what kind of spell Chelsea did, and also how can to fix it?

This whole Box Set was awesomeness. I love all 3 books, the story,The settings EVERYTHING. Thanks Michelle Madow for this box set.

Note: I received a comlimentary copy of this audiobook for review as part of the tour.

Remembrance:

I have had this series on my TBR for quite some time so am excited to be part of the audiobook tour. One thing I find interesting in the way the audiobook is set up, is it is basically all 3 books in one. But, that makes it hard to tell where one book will end and the next will begin until you get to that point as the Audible file doesn’t break it into separate books in the visual chapter menu.

I enjoyed the narrator’s voice and really liked the different accents and voices she gave to each character. I am definitely a fan of this type of narration, as it helps get into each character separately. The pacing and tone was enjoyable and this was definitely a good commute to work listen.

The story unfolds as our main character Lizzie meets Drew and begins to get flashes of their past life together. Piece by piece she gets the information she needs to believe what is happening and begin to understand her situation. I liked the way the story unfolded, and how she didn’t remember it all right away but only got the glimpses as they mirrored the actions of present day.

What got a bit less enjoyable was the high school double love triangle drama. Lizzie already has a long-time boyfriend. Then she meets Drew, who starts dating her best friend. I’m so not into double love triangle drama so that kind of got a few eye rolls from me as it unfolded.

Now, I would love to see some illustrations of the drawings Lizzie made. I want to see the dress she wore to the Halloween dance, and the dress she remembers at the ball. I’m glad the book covers show the masks because I was so curious to see those as intricately and beautifully they were described.

This book ends well, but you know something bad must be lurking, so I’m curious to finish the rest. A good, overall enjoyable listen. And finally gets me some books on my #shelflove challenge.

Vengeance:

I liked how we got to see a bit of point of view from the best friend Chelsea. She definitely got the raw deal in book 1, and I was curious if she was part of the whole past life situation too or was just caught up in the web by accident.

I liked getting to learn about her past and was interested to see how connected everything is and the whole mystic shop and possible witchcraft elements of the story that are introduced.

I did have to keep reminding myself who the narrator was in this story, since "I" is now Chelsea and not Lizzie, but following directly behind book 1 and being the same narrator voice threw me off a bit.

Short, but set up the final story quite well.

Timeless:

The story starts off with a very Final Destination feel as Lizzie's watch stops, then crows start following her. Creepy and awesome to the max! We know what happened since we read Vengeance, but we follow Lizzie and Drew as they figure it out, and see that they were not the only people from the past who have been reincarnated into the present day. I got a kick out of how Lizzie was snooping to find out if her (former) BFF was the one who cast the spell, and the way Chelsea realized what awful chain of events she put into motion.

I really enjoyed their trip to England and all the fun accents and descriptions of the way of life back in the Regency days, though I would have wanted more descriptions of the ball, people's clothing, etc. It would be beautiful to watch so I wanted it described more. But most of all, I enjoyed the unveiling of the sinister plan to off Lizzie's former life by none other than (I'm not going to tell you!) and the only way to stop the echo of the past in the present day was to get to the bottom of what happened back then. I enjoyed that plot line, certainly a fun murder mystery through time!

A great conclusion to the two (and a half) book series and definitely could make a fun TV mini-series. I'd love to see all the costumes in play.

I don't have anything new to say about the narration as this is a continuation of the full book tour, but I will reiterate that I enjoyed her voice and all the accents she did for each character.

This was another series that I have read by the same author but I'm afraid it's definitely my worst read to be honest.

Book one: fine, no issues. Sweet yet complicated, but the reincarnation thing just doesn't sit too well. I can't quite put my finger on it. It felt like an overthought.

Book two: Can you call it a book? It's super short. Too short to be called book two in a trilogy. Author should have made it a lot longer to fit in with the other two books.

Book three: My biggest issue here is that an American author took NO TIME to research British mannerisms. No Brit calls their phones 'cells' or asks a strange for 'iced tea'. Ice tea is digusting. No Brit would ask for that. hell, we don't even have it offered in any restaurants, cafes, or coffee shops. Also, we don't call Hampshire 'Hampshire County. It's either Hampshire or the county OF Hampshire. Marks down for absolutely no research whatsoever.

Overall. The two books and short story were fine, but just not executed well enough for me.

With apologies to Ms. Madow, I'll forego giving this book a "stars" rating because it'd be unfair of this old fogey to rate a story which appears to me to be clearly aimed at teenage to young adult females. I've no problem with the quality of the writing itself, but I really couldn't get into the extensive descriptions of clothing, hair-dos, boyfriends, etc. that would likely be of interest to a younger female audience but which left me flat. It was pretty clear where the story was going within the first few chapters, so I elected to give it up at that point and move on.

Typical YA affair, it was a cute fast read. Yes I got suckered in with reincarnation theme. Not so sure about the execution but I did like how all the characters came together (despite being tropes) and managed to stick the landing.

Will I read another Michelle Madow book, probably not. Besides I'm not the target audience for this anyway and it was love at first sight with the cover. Never judge a book by the cover is a lesson I will NEVER learn.

Fun read

I enjoyed the time travel and past lives aspects of the story. A little witchcraft didn't hurt either. The characters were believable but not total morons like so many YA stories portray teens. This makes it an enjoyable read for adults. Basically a tragic past life event is repeating itself and the three young people it affects have to travel back in time to fix. If only it were that simple.

Different type of series

I really enjoyed her Elemental and Vampire series and give them high marks. This series was just ok. Too many unbelievable things in it of course it's supposed I be that way as it's just a story. My thinking is the life long friends in the story in the story and up enemies then friends again. That can happen over a long period of time, but in this story it was just weeks. Just my ranting otherwise it's an average read.

Pretty good

A good read but not really suspenseful. The ending was pretty predictable and she did not as many twits as I would have liked. She almost have everything away in some of the chapters before the big reveal. It was not hard to figure out. I also felt like she added idea after idea without enough space between them causing it to feel rushed and like she was using ideas that were to forced. Otherwise a good read.

Interesting

This was an interesting series to read. The books moved at a good pace and the storyline stayed true. The ending was a little too pat, but at the same time there really was no other way for it to go, I hope that Chelsea and Jeremy both get their own stories. Hint, Hint...

Great series bundle!!

I really enjoyed this book bundle which consisted of both Remembrance and Timeless and the short story Vengeance. I found the stories fun, fast and easy to read, with Remembrance being my favourite.
These were my first books by Michelle Madow that I have read, but they won't be my last.

A lovely surprise

I chose this trilogy because it was just that, a trilogy and because I have always been drawn to stories with a plot that includes time travel.
If you can appreciate alot of alignment with The Twilight Saga then this story will be a lovely surpriss for you just as it was for me.

Another Madow series in her intriguing style, using time travel with the twist of young lovers about to be separated.

With very creative enjoyable characters, this series sets two young teens into a fatally doomed romance with turns of time that surprises readers. Recommended reading for those who enjoy YA novels but with fantasy interspersed to keep things intriguing.

I loved the entire story line, book two jumps to another POV which was alright but at the start of it I wasn’t sure who’s POV it was, however I quickly got into it. It was an adventure through time and had great characters you could imagine and even place in your own school/lives. I loved it and can’t wait to read more books written by Michelle

excellent collection and a very clean and well done piece

It’s hard to find the right books that hold your attention in anticipation for what’s coming next and at the same time being a readable book that my 15 year old daughter can read. Thanks for sharing your talent with us all.

A wonderful series that I could not put down. I loved reading all the books and watching how the character grew, came to terms with everything, and fell in love. I would love a back story from the last book of the changes and how everyones lives settled.
