What an enjoyable short story. I loved Trick so much that when I was done I needed more of this amazing world and these amazing characters. And this is what this short story gives.

It adds to the backstory of many characters. We get to meet Jesse as a kid at his first days with his prosthetic leg, and we get to meet his twin sister Jimmee. We get to see how they get used to their new life. If you love Trick you have to read this as well. You will get to know more about many characters such as Jesse and Jimmee's grandmother, their parents, and a little bit of information about their older brother and how their family came to forget them.

For me this should be a part of the book. Like a prologue or something. However I believe it is better to read it after you are done with Trick. In some editions of the book it is actually in the back of it as a bonus story but even if your copy doesn't have it you should check it out! Very enjoyable! I love this world so much that every bit of it is worth reading

What an enjoyable short story. I loved Jesse's sister Jimmee so, when I was done, I needed more of this beautiful world and these amazing characters. And this is what this short story gives.

It adds to Jesse's backstory. We get to meet Jesse as a kid at his first days as an amputee as he copes with his parent's deaths. We get to see how he and his twin sister get used to their new life with their Gran. If you love Trick you have to read this as well. You will get to know more about his sister, which was very realistic to me.

For me this should be a part of the book. Like a prologue or something. However I believe it is better to read it after you are done with Trick. In some editions of the book it is actually in the back of it as a bonus story but even if your copy doesn't have it you should look it out! Very enjoyable! I'm finding myself loving this world more and more, so much that every bit of it worth reading.

Emberlee swallowed. “What are you… staying for?”
“I was waiting for something to take the pain away. I was… staying for you.” Jimmee’s voice came out with more life than it had this whole time.

A fantastic short story meant to be read before reading Trick.
