This book tells a story about different animal mothers that show love to their babies. I love how cute this book is when read. It displays pictures of animal mothers playing and cuddling with their babies. There is a pig rolling in mud with her piglet. There is a duck swimming in the water with her duckling. At the very end it shows a human mother giving hugs to her son. When you read this book you feel extremely warm and comfortable, because the words just wrap around you like a huge furry warm blanket. I would use this book in my classroom as a way to show you how other creatures show love, and that humans are not the only mammals on the planet that love.

Very cute book for (N) nursery aged kids. All about an activity everyone loves! Cuddling! The illustrations are cute, colorful and simple. The language is easy for beginner readers. My daughter enjoyed this cute story. I enjoyed it and I do think it is a great choice for little ones.

I have only used this for a Mothers story time, but really like Polly's ending suggestion: "the best cuddle of all is...a mommy, daddy or anyone-who-really-loves-you cuddle!" 5/4/11

I forgot about Polly's ending suggestion, I'll have to try it tomorrow.5/8/12

Used again for lap time, though I always forget to check reviews before using and forgot to alter the ending. 5/8/13

Used again for PJ and Lap Time. 5/6/14

Samierah read with me at PJ Story Time. 5/5/15

The toddler wasn't very interested in this. Have to try and remember Polly's ending for tomorrow.
Remembered Polly's ending and went over fairly well. The older toddlers like identifying the animals.

A good book for toddler time, as some of them are already cuddling with their parents! Fairly easy animals for them to guess. Sweet pictures. And, of course, a happy end!

3/18/10 The Tuesday group was great with this one. The Thursday group was rather deadpan. Oh well--what can you do?

3/25/10 The downtown Tuesday group did a little better with this one than the Thursday one. I was worried about the ending with all those nannies, but it did not deter the kids one bit. The second group still enjoyed the pictures, just not the concept as much.

As you go through this story, there are many different types of cuddle habits described. Each animal has a different way of showing love to his or her baby. I think that this would be a good book to read to a baby because as you read the different ways to cuddle, a caregiver could demonstrate those ways with their own child. It’s a great opportunity to bond with a child. The pictures are big and the lines are very bold which makes the pictures stand out even more.

This is about animals who like to cuddle. The turtle cuddles slowly, ducks cuddle with their beaks, elephants with their trunks, cuddling for kangaroos is easy and for crabs is hard. The best cuddle as the boy says is by mommies.

Great for my 2 year old because the pictures are large and simple, and she loves to identify the animals (she always points and says "daddy" and "baby" for each pair).
