Hy'furl Ghafa is a Nydrian maintenance worker aboard Deltan Kubra, a shabby but popular entertainment station, who finds himself developing a bond with one of the consorts – a human consort by the name of Jasper Stellan. The Nydrians are a short but strong humanoid alien species with mostly similarities to humans – except for their third eye and several ridged body parts! They blend chameleon-like into their surroundings, but the more familiar you are with them, the more opaque they are.
To Jasper, Hy'furl is slowly becoming easier to see, but the alien has outdated ideas about spiriting him away just like every other lover or customer wants to do. As Hy'furl and Jasper navigate through their crushes and the pitfalls of their jobs, it becomes clear that someone will need to be saved – the question is, which of them and why?
Warning: This short story contains scenes of an explicit nature between consenting adults and is intended only for an 18+ audience.
E. Davies writes feel-good, low-angst romance that never fades to black when the going gets good! Born in Canada, after 16 moves and counting, Ed has finally put down roots in north London.
He emerges from his writing nest to coo over fuzzy animals, flee from cute guys, dance through the streets with his chosen family, put together fierce looks, and—most of all—befriend local flowers.
If it's supposed to be a question of who needs saving then why use saving anyone as the title? Stupid...
Plus, I just don't get this. He, Jasper, is a consort..getting paid to provide sex. So if/when he gets a real relationship, how is his partner supposed to be okay with what he does to earn a living? If talking about getting rocks off that's one thing, but a relationship is something a lot more intimate..unless both parties are ok with the situation.. I guess 2.5
