This was a bit of a disappointing sequel to the first volume, but I don't really know why. From the moment Kirika was introduced to the story, I knew that she will be somewhat important to the story. And from the moment they started to look for the witch it did not take me long to mark her as the prime suspect.

What I did not like was the interaction between Ruhsella and Hisui (man I keep forgetting the names of the characters in Japanese light-novels. I remember asking myself to many times: "Who the f**** is Kojou?"). All their quarrels would be resolved by a bit of talking and everything would be fine. But in the end the resembled Ayla and Jondalar in the third installment of the Earth Children's series by Jean M. Auel.

The plot itself was interesting and well refreshing. It's been a while since I've read about witches or something similar.

In the end I also have to praise the illustrator. The illustrations were simply amazing, if I exclude the part where every female character has C+ cups, I mean seriously? The average breast cup in Japan is A (51% of women source ). But that is not really important since the majority of the female characters in Japanese entertaining industry have D+ cups. Why the hell am I even writing this?
