This is a must have for anyone serious about alternative and natural medicine. Cross references, explains the different practices, how they work, and what they replace in the world of allopathic medicine...

Great resource!

Got the first edition hard back in 94. Excellent if you want to explore alternative therapies for any condition. Got the expanded second edition when it came out a few years ago. Good one.

Goes into quite good detail about most every health ailment and the alternative medicine choices available. Seemed to be a fairly unbiased book that just talked about the options instead of touting one specific one or putting conventional medicine down.

This is my textbook for my complementary health care class. It is full of interesting information on almost every modality of alternative medicine. I don't know if I'll ever read through the whole thing, but its a great resource to have.

To say that I've read it is actually not literally true. You don't just sit down and read a book like this; however, it has long been a standard reference book in the family. Yes, we believe in "traditional" medicine, but there is also a place for this in our lives. In fact, who's to say that this is not the more traditional?

As the co-editor of this book I am a bit biased, but this is still one of the best books on alternative medicine available.
