She wanted her life to change ... he wanted his to stay the same.
Seventeen-year-old Ashlyn Lanski is tired of her boring, single life. Swimming and spending time with Tatiana, her best friend, are her only sanctuary. The girls plan to leave their drab lakeside town far behind for college, and Ash hopes to finally ditch her longtime crush for Finley, Tatiana's twin brother. But when Tatiana and her family fail to return home after a family emergency, Ashlyn chooses to do something drastic to cope with losing them.
Finley Helton and his family are good at blending in as they run their sailing charter business in Lake Tahoe. But together, they guard an ancient secret. When a not so routine meeting forces Finley, Tatiana and their mother to return to Natatoria and Fin's father on a dangerous mission, Fin can't stay caged up for long.
Brenda Pandos lives in California with her husband and two boys. She attempts to balance her busy life filled with writing, being a mother and wife, and spending time with friends and family.
I greatly enjoyed this set of three books. It had it all, a beautifully described fantasy world combined with reality, several couples you wanted to root for combined with adventure as the worlds collided. It heartily satisfied this reader’s desire of a captivating mermaid story! Some content made it suitable for teens and beyond because of reference to sexual stuff. Excellent story!!
Everblue I read an excerpt of this book at the end of another authors book and I was hooked. I finished Everblue in the wee hours of the night/morning. I just couldn't put it down and have already started on book 2 (Evergreen). I like that it's told from both Ash & Fin's point of views. Brenda has created characters that you can relate to (even those of us that are adults) and a world that makes you wish you could be a part of.
Evergreen A good second installment of the story with twist and turns that keep you reading. Like the first book I liked that it was told from both Ash and Fin's POVs. Looking forward to reading Everlost!
Everlost As much as I enjoyed this series I was a bit annoyed/dissapointed with this book, the 3rd in the series. Rather than picking up where the second book leaves off it starts in the second book where Tatchi is left/stays in Natatoria and goes through the events that were happening in Natatoria with Tatchi while the second book was happeing on land with Ash, Fin, and the others. Although I liked finding out what had been going on with Tatchi in Natatoria I don't see why it couldn't have been given to us at the same time. For example, have the Ash & fin POVs and then a chapter in Natatoria so that you knew what was going on in both places in "real" time so you weren't then back tracking. And then the third book could have started where the second left off. Also, allowing for giving us more about what happens with the main characters Ash & Fin that we grew to love and followed so closing in books 1 & 2. It was frustrating that they didn't reappear until near the end of book 3 when they were the main focus of the other 2 books.
I was also a bit dissapointed with how quickly everything was wrapped up. By the time we catch up with where the second book left off and we're rejoined with Ash and Fin there wasn't much left in the book. While reading I kep thinking how is the author ever going to have enough time to wrap this all up and sure enough I was left wanting more, thinking "Is that really it?" I wanted more both with how things are "fixed" in Natatoria and how things play out for the main characters (not just Ash & Fin but the others too - I don't want say more than that so I don't give away any spoilers).
Don't get me wrong this book is still a decent read and I enjoyed parts of it. I just think there should be more and/or could have been done a little differently. If Brenda were to ever add to this series or have a spin-off series I would definitely read it. I still want to know what else happened...
Tatiana is best-friends with Ashlyn. Tatiana has a twin brother named Fin who Ashlyn is completely obsessive about. One day Tatiana and Fin disappear. Ashlyn wonders what happened to them and becomes more suspicious when two men show up in their house claiming to be family.
I loved the fact that this story was a mermaid mystery that you had to keep reading to uncover. The suspense of this story made it unique and a stand out. I am giving this book 4 out of 5 Stars.
Evergreen:
This book picks up where Everblue left off. Ash and Fin are now separated by distance. Counting the seconds they can be together. Fin is traveling with his family even when hie heart is with Ash.
These two have life changing decisions to make. Will Ash leave everything behind and join the world under the sea or will Fin give up his Fin for Human legs on land.
I almost love the longing of these two being separated. I was glued to the pages all though the night. I thought the cover was so breathtaking. I am giving this book 4 out of 5 stars.
Everlost:
This 3rd book flashes back and is now from Tatiana’s POV. You also see into Azor’s thinking. Everything changes for Tatiana's after one kiss. finds herself torn between how much she hates Azor at times and her unwanted love for him.
Azor was an easy character to hate and I laughed at times while reading at his expense. This book did get a little descriptive on the genitalia and how to arouse the opposite sex. I would not recommend this for young teens.
I loved this fresh perspective to the series and the fact that we got a more clear picture as to everything that happened. This book tied up everything in such an effortless way. I loved the struggles that Tatiana has to face. This book really pulled at your heart strings. I am giving this book 4 out of 5 stars.
All I can saw about this series is wow, the writer kept me invested in the book the whole time. When I first started reading it I said to myself "Oh boy" another cliché romance but after the first chapter I knew I was totally wrong. The book surprised me, it made me happy, it made me feel betrayal, envy and it broke my heart. I recommend this series to anyone who wants to read something, action packed. different with a side order of romance
This is without a doubt one of my favorite series of all time. It was Uplifting, Magical, Sexy, and taught lessons about Faith, Life, and Love along the way. In this story Brenda introduces us to an amazing place, and her really cool take on Mer Life. It was quite a journey, and I would recommend it to any and all who have an imagination and a heart.
I enjoyed this series. It was jam packed with mystery, fantasy, and some romance. Mermaid stories have always interested me and this series was one for the books. I got hooked and read all three in about 5 days. I would definitely reread this series. Though the last book wasn't my favorite because the point of view could get confusing at points.
I could not stop reading this trilogy! I absolutely love the characters and world she has created here. it's full of action, romance and adventurous moments. I absolutely loved this trilogy and will read it again! I definitely recommend this trilogy!!!
