When Kai Kelly inherits her estranged grandfather’s estate in Bliss, Idaho, life becomes anything but blissful. The discovery of a beautiful but unusual ring in the attic, leads to much more than she bargained for. Kai may not realize what she has in her possession, but the boys in Hell sure got the message. Lucifer and the six other princes of Hell, existed for several millennium believing that the Ring of Solomon–an object with the power to control demons– had been destroyed. However, the moment Kai slips the ring on her finger, the tremor of it’s power ripples through the underworld. Knowing the ring’s existence could mean the destruction of all demons, Lucifer sends his six princes to earth in search of the ring and it’s bearer. There’s one catch, a demon can’t take the ring from it’s owner, it has to be given willingly…or they have to be dead. Asmodeus, the Demon of Lust, is happy to have another opportunity to visit the mortal world and dally with a human female…or twelve. However, when he arrives on earth, he realizes Lucifer made all the demons mortal in an effort to keep them motivated, focused on their mission and immune from the powers of the ring. When Asmodeus meets Kai along a deserted section of highway in Magic Valley, it’s more than the ring she wears that catches his eye. He plans to woo the ring out from under her but before long, the lines between lust and love blur. When the other members of the brotherhood realize Asmodeus has found the ring, they descend on Bliss, determined to get the ring from Kai at any cost. When Asmodeus is faced with choosing between the brotherhood and his one true love, he realizes the battle for Hell is nothing compared to the battle for her heart.
Sara Humphreys is the award winning author of the Amoveo Legend series. The third book in the series, UNTAMED, won two PRISM awards--Dark Paranormal and Best of the Best. The first two novels from her Dead in the City series have been nominated for the National Readers Choice Award. Sara was also a professional actress. Some of her television credits include, A&E Biography, Guiding Light, Another World, As the World Turns and Rescue Me.
She loves writing hot heroes and heroines with moxie but above all, Sara adores a satisfying happily-ever-after. She lives in New York with Mr. H., their four amazing sons, and two adorable pups. When she's not writing or hanging out with the men in her life, she can be found working out with Shaun T in her living room or chatting with readers on Facebook.
Kai sees auras. When her estranged grandfather dies and leaves his farm to her, she decides to clean out his home and maybe discover something about her past. She finds a box with "Custodian of Light" on it. Inside is a ring with symbols on it. She puts on the ring.
An alarm is raised in the Underworld. The Ring of Solomon, a ring capable of controlling the Brotherhood of demons, has been found and is being worn. It must be found be found by the Brotherhood and returned to the Underworld. But the ring must be given freely or taken at the death of the bearer.
Asmodeus, Demon of Lust, is the demon who finds Kai. He intends to seduce the ring away from her. But he soon discovers that he's drawn to her in a way that he's never been drawn to another woman. He becomes protective of her.
When Kai meets Asmodeus, she sees that he has no aura. He's a Dark One that her mother warned her about. But the more she gets to know him, the less she believes he's soulless.
As they learn more about the ring, the prophecy regarding the ring, and Asmodeus' aura-sucking nature, Kai suspects that everything isn't what they're led to believe. But deadly forces don't want to listen to theory and reason. And Asmodeus and Kai might not survive to learn the truth.
My thoughts: I loved Asmodeus. As you would expect from the Demon of Lust, he was sexy. He was tall, built, tattooed, and rode a motorcycle. And though he thought he didn't have a soul, he was noble, protective, and gentle. Besides being deadly when necessary. And I loved his glowing red eyes.
Kai was a smart, sassy, strong heroine. She stood up for herself and what was right against some pretty powerful characters.
The plot moved along quickly as we learned new information. There were many surprises and twists and ups and downs. I'm a sucker for emotional gut-punches, and Asmodeus delivered a number of them. They made the HEA that much sweeter.
And speaking of the ending, there were a number of questions left unanswered. That was fine, as I assume they will be answered in the overall story arc of the series. However, there were some aspects of Asmodeus and Kai's story that I was left wondering about. Maybe I'll find my answers in Lucifer: Demon of Pride?

Review:
Kai starts out thinking she is a normal woman cleaning out her estranged grandfathers house until Asmodeus rolls into the town of Bliss on hi Harely Davidson. Bliss will never be the same again and nether with Kia. Asmodeus must retrieve a ring that has welded itself to Kai's finger, this said ring is suppose to be able to enslave his kind Only there is an unexpected twist as they go on an mission to free Kia from the rings grasp.
With Witches, Fae and The Brotherhood of Hell getting involved nothing goes to plan. Through blasts of fire and light Kia gets her man before starting off a prophecy unlike anything else which has plagued these communities.
My Thoughts:
“The book kept me entertained after a slow start, but was delighted that I kept reading. I found that the more I entered the story the more I became engrossed in the whole world Sara Humphries managed to create. I was addicted to the leading characters. I give this book 5 + stars and wished that I could give more, but sadly Amazon only allows 5. I highly recommend it to all Paranormal/soft Erotica readers. I want to give high praise to Sara Humphries for the right level of use of erotica in her novel. Well done!”
*Out of 10* Romance: 9 Action: 9 Plot:9 Characters: 9 Writing: 7-8 Because of NA... Sex: 9
The concept of this book is intriguing, as a paranormal romance fan, i had to give this book a try, and im really glad i did! Its a fairly short book in appearance- but while reading it, it felt as long as Daughter of Smoke and Bone, which is good in some sense, seeing as the continuation hasn't come out yet which it was due to in 2015? the constant action was what kept me reading, i didn't find one boring part in this book, which strangely amused me. The characters were well imagined, i surprisingly liked Kelly a lot, she's not average, she's not stubborn but if she wants something- she will have it. She wouldn't go to stupid lengths to obtain her answer, but she will fight like a woman, which is why i think i liked her- she's mature instead of whiny, she's an adult who understands the consequences of putting yourself in a dangerous situation, which is what OFTEN happens in YA books, where the heroine thinks she's being smart, when in reality, she's a massive dickhead.
Asmodeus is pretty much average, I've read many books which male main characters like him, he's manly, he has this alpha attitude, he's the Demon of Lust, which pretty much sums that up, and he's obviously drop-dead-sexy. The tension between the two characters is there from the start, but its not thrown in your face all at once, or over-described. It builds up, i felt like i was constantly waiting for something to happen- and when it did... oh it definitely happened, and was much better than my expectations. The thing i find very frustrating is how often books have this im-going-to-deny-my-feelings-for-you-and-mask-them-with-some-bullshit-excuse thing going on... it really drives me insane, i get the reason why authors do it, but at times its so stupid it doesn't make sense.
I feel like common issues are what often annoy me whilst reading a book- but i didnt find many with this book, the plot was completley different from anything ive come across, i love the mixture of faes, witches, demon, custodians, elfs and whatever other creatures will appear in the next book. I dont want to make this long, so overall a great book for anyone looking for something short but full of action, thats not slow paced, and will keep you turning and turning page after page just to see what happens next.
I read these as individual parts but my review is all bundled
Love is Light
Asmodeus Demon of Lust
I started this with part 1 and finished up part 4. Now all you lucky readers can purchase the bundle set of this amazing love story. Yes a Love story and read it without interruption. My review is based on all 4 reads.
This series has something for everyone. You have “The Princes of Hell known as the Brotherhood, you have Fae, witches and half breeds which is what Kai is. She is part Fae and part witch and falls in love with a demon. Yep she falls in love with the one who has come to earth to recovery the Ring of Solomon. Since Asmodeus is the Demon of lust this should have been an easy task. NOT. What started out being his assignment turned into the most incredible love story. There is plenty of action as Asmodeus puts his loyalty of the Brotherhood aside to protect the woman he loves. It took Kai to figure out what the prophecy really meant and with a plan of sheer genius brought the warring factions together. Although I have to admit I was a little disappointed that Willow never showed. I would have loved to see the interaction with Zemi’s sister Willow and Satan. Talk about hot. In the end Love prevailed. You see Asmodeus was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in the name of Love for Kai, his life. What he was afraid of happening did not, he wasn’t taking her light and destroying her, he was taking her love and by doing so that was feeding his soul. Kai showed him his arms and the tattoos of the brotherhood, the rings and chains were gone. Just then when the spell was starting to lift the ring of Solomon dropped off Kai’s finger to her and Asmodeus’s surprise. Amidst all the commotion Lucifer and Zemi are arguing and just like that they disappear. You see the ring ended up on Zemi. I so can’t wait for Lucifer and Zemi’s story. This should be very interesting. Sara thank you so much for all the great reads, I give Asmodeus 5* you’ve done it again in my book.
Ever since reading Pete and Marianna's book from the Amoveo Legend series, I've been dying to know about the Princes of Hell. And BOY, did I get that and then some!
Kai is one hell of a kickass heroine, but my reading updates will tell you more about exactly why she fits my perfect heroine template to a T.
Asmodeus may be a Prince of Hell but he suffers from a decidedly mortal male affliction of torturing himself by denying himself the idea of love because he thinks Kai deserves better than him. He does wise up eventually and then these two are an unstoppable force.
I loved learning about the Ring of Solomon and the Fae, the witches and the Princes of Hell. I'm guessing the conflict doesn't end with the deaths of the antagonists in this one, mainly because it seems like the Princes of Hell have a LOT of enemies (including the women they're meant to be with clearly :D) who'd love to enslave them.
I'm dying to read Lucifer and Zemi's story and I'm sure that one's going to be a doozy because clearly both of them have made major mistakes they have to answer for. I have a hunch Willow might be pretty heavily responsible for whatever bad shit went down with them, in which case it will be very interesting if she's meant to be with Satan (especially with her supposedly having hurt him and him being the Demon of Wrath and all). Both Lucifer and Zemi seem to have more than a healthy dose of pride so their book's bound to be explosive. Still their HEA will certainly be passionate considering how much they'll keep each other on their toes :D CAN'T. FREAKING. WAIT.
Okay, so.... Holy Demon hunks! Where, oh where, do I start? Demons, witches and Fae, my lord! It's like a supernatural free for all. Ha! There is humor, heart ache and a whole lot of, "what the hell was that?"
Full of laughs, don't forget that! efinitely a page turner and as always a book that just needs to be loved and it will love you back. #ShareTheLove It's a quick, light but heavy read. And paranormal fan would like this read a lot.
Kai never thought finding out her maternal grandfather had died would not only turn her world upside down, but have her heart seizin with lust and attraction for a man that was not like her. Kai (in the beginning) was a little dainty. Not in a bad way. Girlfriend has a mouth on her, but she's innocent. A good soul.
Asmodeus, Demon of Lust. Hot alpha male he is, is sent to find the wearer of an ancient ring. The ring of Solomon, a ring that is part of an ancient prophecy. When he finds the ring though, he's more drawn to the beautiful girl wearing it than he is the ring. Tables turn and it's as if a flip has been switched.
Every time Asmodeus tries to walk away, he comes back. All while trying to keep them hidden. They're on the run from his brothers, the Fae man trying to kill her and there is no one that will give her a straight answer.
With the will power of a champion, Kai manages to get a handle on things, but then, it happens. Something Kai had been waiting on. Now the fun, really gets started.
Asmodeus, one of the Princes of Hell and the Demon of Lust whom we had originally met in Undone, is sent to Earth to reclaim the ring of Solomon when it becomes obvious it has resurfaced. Kai, who can read auras, is cleaning out the house her grandfather left her when she comes upon a sealed crate that contains pictures of her grandmother and a ring she assumes belonged to her grandmother and puts it on. Now she can’t remove it and both the demons and the fae want it, both believing different versions of a prophecy regarding it.
Just like the Amoveo series this split off from, Kai discovers she is not quite human and with the misunderstanding regarding both the prophecy as well as the harm Asmodeus believes he is doing to Kai, there is a great deal of heated sexual tension as the two perform the “I want you but I know it will not work” dance.
Demons, witches and the fae along with the history of why the three aren’t getting along is uncovered in this first book that matches up Custodians of the Light with the Brotherhood of Demons Asmodeus is part of.
The story seems to ramble for a time in the middle, but all of it is important and pulls together in the end. Plenty of humor and interesting characters, especially the couple du jour; both are strong, determined and Kai especially has no reservations about speaking her mind to those most would fear.
Just WOW. I finally got to finish the entire book and OMG... It ROCKED. So glad I decided to start it again from the beginning. when a story is broken up it sometimes drives me nuts. kinda like watching a 4 part mini series on t.v. lol but a lot more interesting. This series is definitely going to be a top favorite of mine. I just think the brotherhood is HOT. Kai is also a rocking female and "feisty" enough to handle Asodemus lusty ways. This story is put together great and u become aware of the happenings as Kai does during the progress of the book. I still have so many unanswered questions and not happy having to wait for my next fix of this smoking hot series. Lucifer is going to be one interesting story. Definitely a top story in my book of favorites and guarantee to be yours as well.
Asmodeus: Demon of Lust Part had me addicted from the very first page of Part #1. Fast paced, exciting and sexually charged, each part of this serialized novel only got better and better! I became totally captivated by the concept of the Princes of Hell as Brotherhood, each tasked to consume the souls banished to the Underworld for wallowing in the Seven Deadly Sins of the mortal realm; and with Lucifer as their leader, it was bound to be an exhilarating ride! But how will Asmodeus, who places his loyalty to the Brotherhood before anything else, cope with a reality where a fragile, mortal female becomes his all consuming focus and the desire to protect her till his last breath over-rules his sense of purpose? You have read this book; it is totally on the edge of your seat AWESOME!
WOW, this book was not what I expected at all & I’m so glad! It is very fantasy based which threw me sooo off guard & yall know I LOVE me a fantasy romance!!!! 1st of all I really loved the concept that the seven princes of hell represents the seven deadly sins, I thought that was really cool! Along with the demons, there were fae & witches involved which I loved! Despite the cover, there was not much spice which was rlly surprising lol but I was cool with it. The only reason I did not rate this book 5 stars is because it ended on a cliffhanger & the last page said ‘next book coming out in 2015’ & babes…. It is now 2024. Why are you doing this to me :,) I dm’ed the author on instagram because I need answers LMAOOO!
HOT damn... this first book of the Princes of Hell series..
I just can't take my eyes off the book... finally got the whole book in my grasp after all this time wondering how the story goes..
I am in love with Asmodeus the loving Demon of Lust who fallen in love for the first time in his existence.. the first one who gone from the dark to the light whom matched the Chosen One.. Kai Kelly..
all of the characters in the book is fascinating the Brotherhood, the Fae, the Witches...
and I can't wait for the next installment, Lucifer and Zemi's story.. I bet it will be battling hot and full of sexyness.
I read this story in an anthology and recently I listened to it on audio book. It had Fae, demons, and witches, oh my! Even though this is the first story in the Princes of Hell series, it is set in the same world as the author's Dead in the City and Amoveo series. It isn't necessary to have read any of the other books to fully enjoy this new series. The story has action, mystery, suspense, magic, humor, and steamy romance. As wonderful as the main characters were, the secondary characters really made the story awesome! I can't wait for other characters to get their stories! The main characters get their HEA and there isn't a cliff hanger.
Loved it! IF you haven't read this series, I highly recommend it! AND, lucky you! IF you start with part 1 now, you can now read all the way thru to the ending in part 4 and not have to wait for each part... I'm not a huge fan of serialized stories but I'm so glad I didn't miss out on this one!
Thank you, Sara Humphreys, for sharing and ending their story so well! I was happy to read that Sara will be sharing more stories of the Demon brotherhood of the Underworld... and this time they'll be in book form!
I read this book as the series was released. So instead of one whole book I read 4 parts. Anyways.... It is awesome. When I first sat down to read this book I wasn't sure if I would like it because the hero is a demon. That was something new for me. But oh my goodness is it good. Asmodeus is the demon of lust and he is hot!!!!! He is the ultimate bad boy. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
First let me say Thank you to Sara Humphreys for sending me a copy of this book. With that out the way here is my honest review.
I loved this book and I love it more to knowing that there are going to be at least 6 more to complete the prophecy. Kai character was the perfect blend of sassy and soft and I just love when a bad boy can turn soft but still be strong. Can't wait to read more of this series!
I won a print copy of this book and couldn't wait to read it. I totally love Asmodeus and his heroine.
I enjoyed the story and read it quickly. If you have read Sara's other series you won't want to miss out on this one. I love Sara's world building and voice. The heat between the couple is amazing.
My only thought when reading is that a few parts maybe could have used a bit more... I wanted more of the relationship building between Asmodeus and Kai.
Holy crap can I have my own Demon of Lust please? This book was awesome. I mean he was such a A-hole but became such a loving demon. I cannot wait for Lucifer and Satan to get theirs. I will definitely read all the books. Not my first book by Sara but she is a AWESOME author. I got Part 1 for free, then as I was looking for the next ones noticed it cam in bood form so just bought the book and skipped where I left off.
I love this entire series, and can't wait to read about the other 6 demons! I can't wait to read about the other vampires too, and am hoping for more shapeshifters. Please don't break these books into small books, though. I read this one all together, and would not have enjoyed it as much if it was all broken up in 4 parts, released at different times.
love these books its a nice take on the demons of the underworld and to see them find true love and how they have to get it too its not easy that's for sure.
I really enjoyed the premise for this one! Kai finds out that magic and the supernatural is real, and she has connection to the Fae and the witches. Kai finds a magical ring that can rule the demons of Hell, which is causing problems for her right away. There's some demons that aren't happy about it, and there's some others that are out to steal it. Asmodeus, the demon of lust, is one of the demons tasked with finding the ring, but when he meets Kai, he feels protective of her. Loved the magical elements, and I loved how the story plays out. I do wish there was more in the ending though. There's some fun and adventure, and I really liked the characters. Kai is sassy and capable, and I loved how she stands up for herself. Asmodeus is a sweetheart most times, but does have his jerk moments. He's usually trying to do what he thinks is right though. He keeps trying to push Kai away, and I really hated how much it seemed like Kai was throwing herself at Asmodeus when he kept rejecting her. His rejection was coming from a good place, but she didn't know that. It would've been better for Asmodeus to have to win back her affections more. I still think they are really cute together, and the chemistry between them. I listened to the audio and the narrator does a good job. She wasn't my favorite, but I'd still recommend it. It seems like there may be more books in this series which I would like to read. The other characters were kind of jerks though, so hopefully they stop that and grow up. I've enjoyed every Sara Humphreys' book I've read, so I'd recommend her books.
Absolutely loved this book. I've read it several times. It pulls you in to a magical world with a very strong unwilling heroine and equally strong hero. I am out of my mind waiting years for the follow up books. Please please consider finishing this series. I have purchased every single book by Ms Humphreys, I can only hope she returns to writing. I am thrilled to are the follow up novella. It's next on my list!!
I really liked the book. It's very readable and the story intriguing. Too bad that the series doesn't continue to Lucifer as was anounced in the end of the book. I would be curious to see the other demons and parts of hell!
This book is the 1st book of which has the makings of a really good series. I was drawn into the story from the very beginning, with an "awwww darn" when I reached the last page. Finding out there was another book to follow had me doing a happy dance! The only downside was some bad grammatical errors, but these did not detract from my reading enjoyment. Can't wait to start Book #2!
Though I do need to mention that it wasn't all that easy keeping up with all the convoluted magic stuff. Demons, witches, fae, spells, curses etc etc were all a little tricky to keep a track of but the relationship between Asmodeus and Kai was sweet.
Not hard poundingly awesome or anything, just a solid, decent read that I can't/ won't complain about.
Is there better out there? Definitely. But not bad all the same.
