Rumors of trouble bring Ryan Cawdor home to West Virginia, where he'd left his nephew Nathan at the head of the barony. But a welcoming committee is waiting for him with a band of sec men, and a usurper of the Cawdor name. Unable to help a mysteriously ailing Krysty Wroth, Ryan challenges two of his oldest enemies in their grim gambit to control the East Coast baronies.
As always, an excellent audio production from graphic audio. I always complain their sound effects don't match the scenes happening in the book, (and in this book, that was no exception), motorcycles, clashing blades, and types of guns firing, all didn't match the actual story, but nonetheless, the sound effects always enhance the story, and make it a whole lot more enjoyable, even if I do have to shake my head at the utter lack of story alignment with the sounds sometimes. I guess they do the best they can with the effects they have. But, regardless of my complaints, if you haven't listened to a graphic audio presentation, and you're an audio book reader, then you're truly missing out. These deathlands books are really good stories, and the graphic audio productions just make them that much better.
