I bought this book when I was twelve. Now, as I am rapidly approaching sixteen, you'd think I would've at least FORCED myself to grow out of the Warriors series, to prove that "IMMA GROWNUP MOMMY!!!"

But no.

They're amazing, I reread them constantly, and if you don't like it then bite me.

Anyway.

This book starts the day Bluekit opens her eyes for the first time, and follows her as she grows into Bluefur, a fierce Thunderclan warrior haunted by the death of her loved ones and the hostility of her bloodthirsty Clanmate, Thistleclaw.

I... I... Oh God I just can't. I can't revisit it, not again. I still haven't recovered. You'd think that after the sixth read, I would be better prepared for the horrible tragedy and emotions of the stupid book. But no. I still bawl my eyes out. EVERY FU.... FREAKING TIME.

This is the only book that has ever EVER made me cry. EVER. And I read a ton. The last fifth or so of the book is like the ending of Marley & Me. It will scar you for life, but the pain is so sweet that you constantly crawl back, ripping deeper scars into your soul with every visit.

I have discovered that crying over a book is one of the best, most humiliating feelings in the world. Especially if you're weeping over the angst of a moody cat. Jesus. I need a social life.

Anywho, just to make myself clear: This is the best Warriors book ever written. It has the magic of the original (aka BEST) six books, the writing finesse of the later books, and the strength of character that can only be reached by digging into the innermost workings of a beloved character's soul. To have experienced Bluestar's ENTIRE LIFE is amazing. I've never had that deep of an experience with a character. You can see the threads connecting every moment of her life and how they affected her in the post-Fireheart novels. I loved it with every fiber of my lonely emo being, and will probably reread it countless times more.

This is probably my second favorite super edition, second to Crookedstar's Promise. I really enjoyed Bluestar's prophecy. You enter the story moments before Bluestar jumps off the edge of the gorge to lead the dogs to their deaths, but this time from her perspective. The prophecy, (which she refer's to as Goosefeather's) rings in her mind. Water will destroy you... It ends with Mistyfoot and Stonefur forgiving her for what she's done.

I really enjoyed the elements and setup of this book. It flashes into Bluestar's life from kit to leader, and all the tragedy and heartbreak she went through. Seeing as I got my copy at a used book sale, it's pretty beat up, but every time I pick it up I just get this wonderful nostalgic feeling. If you feel nostalgic when looking at Into the Wild after reading the newest book, it's multiplied with this one.
The feels are real. Would recommend!

It’s amazing how much heroism, tragedy, and adventure can be contained in a story about feral cats.

Okay, I have to admit. I like the idea. I like going back to see what happened with Bluestar before Firepaw came in. I also have to admit something else. I didn't like this book.

Bluestar was just annoying. Her decisions made no sense. I didn't get her at all. Oakheart was, eh, dumb. I totally think Crookedpaw was nicer. Side note: I loved Crookedpaw's character. I absolutely love his loyalty. He is overly friendly at gatherings, but in battle, he's fiercely loyal to his clan, which I appreciate.

Okay, back on track. Yes, Sunfall/star was actually pretty good. Pinestar was, uh, okay. Kinda stupid, but okay. Thistleclaw was actually pretty cool, even if he was evil. Thrushpelt.... oh, Thrushpelt, I pity you :) He reminds me of Peeta, a little bit. Big softie. Very down to earth. Unfortunately for him, his Katniss (Kat-niss?) didn't like him back. Oh well, I think he probably got over her. Actually, wait, no, I don't think he did -_- wow. Never mind. Anyway.... who am I forgetting? Oh, yeah, Snowfur. Poor her. I don't know. She was kind of annoying, and I don't get what she saw in Thistleclaw (hey, me and Bluefur agree on something!).

Apart from the characters, this book was absolute crap (some of the characters were crap too, or else it might have gotten 3 stars). The plot was pointless. It's because of these books that I've come to hate prophesies in books with a vengeance. Goosebutt, or whatever his name was (Gooseflower? No. Goosepelt? No. Goosejerk? Yes, that's more like it), was perhaps the most annoying character ever. Worst pick for medicine cat, I admit. Wait, I'm going on about the characters. Never mind. Alright, the plot. Too many prophesies in the Warriors books. I know they're supposed to be important, but I just hate them. The story in this book felt like it was just being dragged out. Some scenes felt important to the plot, but (as is typical with these books) there were just SO many pointless scenes that drove me insane. I really have no sympathy for Bluefur, despite all she went through. I don't know. Maybe it was because she actually wasn't that nice at times, and way too ambitious. I like an unambitious lead, but she was the opposite.

Okay, I'll conclude this. Basically, I hated this book. It was the worst, probably, of the Special Editions, at least the ones I've read, and I don't have any particular sympathy for Bluestar after reading it. I thought maybe we'd get to see why she had doubts about the loyalty of her own clan, but no, we didn't. I thought we'd get a better story. But it was pretty bad.

The only part I liked was the little epilogue, with Spottedleaf and Bluestar, and Rusty, and the whole 'get Graypaw to track him' thing. By the way, why in later books are apprentices not even really allowed out alone, but in this one they're being sent on missions next to Twoleg-place, or whatever they called it?

All in all, just awful -_-

(Also, Bluefur and Oakheart had a damn one night stand. Really!)

So, this is my first Goodreads review. Hope it goes well *fingers crossed*

I read the original Warriors series over a number of years (the books were very hard to find in the UK) and then always meant to go back and read the New Prophecy series (I have the whole box set on order right now). But then I heard about the Super Editions. Having only read the original series they sounded great. New books that I didn't need to read all of New Prophecy to understand. Of course I went for Bluestar's first.

Now, I must say I am way over the age meant for these books. I started reading them in my late teens because they seemed like something I would have adored as a kid. I couldn't help myself. A series about cats that's full og mysticism but also the brutal reality of nature. Even as an adult I can't help myself and I've never much cared for only reading things because of the age put on it.

Enough background. I got Bluestar's Prophecy and raced through it. There was good and bad, it must be said but as a companion to the original series I don't think fans will be disappointed.

This was my absolute favorite Warriors book yet! I loved all of the backstory in this, and Bluestar is now one of my favorite characters. My favorite part was when she met with Oakheart because she chooses to have kits but still wants to be, and becomes, leader of Thunderclan.
I only finished this in two days because of how good it was.

Wow! I LOVED this book! IT WAS AMAZING! My favourite ever book! I've read it again a few times and enjoyed it loads. Everything about it is great and I love how it goes through how everything was before Rusty/Firepaw/heart/star. It's a lot different without him and it's great to see and hear about past cats. I loved the characters in this book, the writing, the plot and everything, really. This book is set before the original series and then the original series follows on straight after. Therefore, if you're thinking about reading Warriors, read BP and then the first series as they follow on perfectly. A sequel to this book, "Crookedstar's Promise" is being released this summer, so keep a look out for it - I can't wait!

This was an excellent book! I liked it even better that Firestar's Quest.

This book starts out when the famous Bluestar was just a kit. This book travels through her life from kit to leader. Bluestar is given a prophecy, and with it death, lies and heartache await. Bluestar has endured them all. So when she is told by Starclan to give up her kits to save Thunderclan, Bluestar makes a heart throbbing decision. What will it be? Well... read the book and find out.

This book was utter garbage. Bluefur was annoying, her romance was forced, and the characters were either just as bad as Bluefur or completely forgettable. This is one warriors book I would erase from history if I had the chance. If you want to read a good book, you want yo avoid this book at all costs!

Here's my Breakdown of why it sucks:
1: Bluefur was annoying.
Sympathy in books is more important than many people realize, and it's hard to sympathize with someone who's already doing most of the pitying for you! She would never shut up or stop moping.
2: Her romance was forced.
Oakheart's better than Bluefur, but his sudden fascination with her, and her's with him, is forced and out of no where. I mean, they only met for one night! Can you really call that a relationship? Besides, Oakheart's too good for Bluefur.
3: The characters were forgettable or as bad as Bluefur:
Here's a quick run down of the main characters:
Bluefur: Annoying crybaby
Snowfur: Forgettable cookie-cutter sister
Oakheart: Too good for Bluestar but still not great
Thistleclaw: The most forgettable 'villain' I've ever seen
Featherwhisker: Generic
Moonflower: One of my least favorite cats in the series
Thrushpelt: The only good character in this book

Okay, I admit it, I’ve been in a little bit of a reading slump. I haven’t read good books for ages. And this book, it was one of the easiest 5 stars I could give. I don’t know how the Erin’s do it, but I found myself reading 116 pages from 7:23 in the morning until 9:19 in the morning. Wow. I loved this book. I almost cried at the end when Mosskit died.
Okay, summary time. So Bluestar’s Prophecy is all about Bluestar starting as a kit until she becomes the leader of ThunderClan. There isn’t really a specific plot, but it was sort of about how she lived with the prophecy, “You Are Fire, And You Will Blaze Through The Forest.” She sacrificed a lot so she could become leader. She gave up her kits, she gave up her mate, and she lost Snowfur to a car/monster and lost Moonflower during a WindClan raid. Then she lost Mosskit, and continued suffering. Although this was a 516 paged book, at the end, it didn’t seem like Erin Hunter was rushing to finish the book. So in conclusion, I almost cried like twice, I was caught in the pages, and the book was a real page turner.

this book was one of the best!!! i cryed when her sister died!!! but it also gave me some more insight on tigerstars charecter! he wasnt always so evil. he use to play with whitestorm when they were kits but the day he was given his mentor... thats the day it changed. i dont nor will ever blame tigerstar for his evil ambitions! he only learned from thistleclaw! bluestar always knew he was trouble! im not saying its all thistleclaws fault its both of them! still not blaming tigerstar! but one thing i do blame him for is havng people join his evilness! darkstripe..hes good inside! and longtail...just came out changed (cough cough fave cat!) but hawkfrost started stuff on his own! sasha should have never gave mothwing and hawkfrost to the clans!!!!

In this special edition warriors book, you read about the life of Bluestar and that also helps you figure out why she was SO tramatised by Tigerclaw's treachery. Her life is filled with sadness and betrayal. Her life secrets are revealed well and in a timely maner. Bluestar's sister's mate is a nice man but well death comes he turns into an evil man that ended up training Tigerpaw/claw! This book truely explains her life in full view. You feel horrible for all the characters in the clan except for Pinestar (What a traitor!) I suggest you read this before the first series. It will help you understand the story and grasp her feelings when she goes through that really hard time.

This book was amazing; it was just heartwrenching. Bluestar has always been one of my favorite characters, ever since I read the first arc in elementary school. But this book just broke my heart. Being in the Warriors fandom as long as I have, I've had spoilers about this book, but it didn't stop from hurting anymore. Everything she had to go through was just so terrible. I wish I could save her from her backstory.

I've had this book since I was eleven. I'm now seventeen and in the process of re-reading it for the millionth time. Do I care if I'm too old to still be reading this series? Oh look, there goes the mouse tails I give.

Although some hardcore Warrior fans [such as myself] don't particularly agree with the choice of her mother's name, Moonflower, ("Moon" is hardly a name one would give to their kit, considering it belongs to the sacred Moonstone and Moonpool) it's pretty and convenient, so I'll let that slide.

...Sunstar, however...just no.

I loved all the names in this book. They were simple and yet telling, not too fancy or flashy like some of the Omen of the Stars cats.

For example: Larksong the elder, the two Queens Swiftbreeze and Poppydawn, Pinestar's mother- the deceased Sweetbriar, Dawnstripe, Reedfeather and Fallowtail from WindClan, Littlebird (my personal favorite out of all the names in this book), and Hollyflower from ShadowClan, and I think there are some more but these are all the names I could recall off the top of my head w/o using the book.

If you're hesitating in buying the book just because it's labeled for children, just go for it and buy the book -- it won't hurt. (Much.) In my opinion, this book doesn't have the soft barrier other children novels do, and therefore its incorrect in the categorization of a children's book.

It was a great book the first time I read it in 2009, when it first released, and it's still a great book five years later.

Seriously, take my word for it. You won't regret it.

Best Warriorcat book I have read!(I have read almost all of them apart from Manga)

It follows Bluestars life from a squealing kit,to leader of Thunderclan.
You learn how she became leader, why she gave up Mistyfoot and Stonefur, who her kin where and basically every little detail of the old she-cats life....BRAVO Erin Hunter! I give this amazing book,5/5.

This explains so many things. And it makes me love Bluestar even more than I already did.
It's an intense character study on Bluestar and her life before we meet her in Into the Wild.
It's especially funny when you recognize all the old characters and see them grow up (Lionpaw, I mean you especially).
We see so much of Bluestar's character growth and the choices that shaped her life. And it shows her struggles with StarClan and her own choices. Her love story is only a small part of her arc and I enjoyed that very much.

I LOVED THIS BOOK. It reveals so many secrets from the normal series that I've been dying to know about since the very first book of, like, a twenty book series. I love the way Erin Hunter describes the way the cats think. It's so descriptive, and it seems to describe the exact opposite of the way that people think cats think. Bluestar is an amazing she-cat, and she is beautiful and brilliant as leader to ThunderClan, for many moons. At least that's what everyone thinks. She has so many secrets yet for her clan to discover, and some which they will never discover. That she had kits, Mistyfoot and her brother, Stonefur. That she loved Oakheart. That she never believed that Tigerstar was really an enemy to fear until he tried to kill her. She hated herself and was disgusted at herself for it, so that she risked her life for Fireheart, knowing she wouldn't survive. It's an amazing book, and it starts from when she was born. I recommend it to anyone who loves cats, or even hates cats. It's an amazing, suspenseful book.

Anyone even remotely familiar with Erin Hunter's "Warriors" series knows of Bluestar, the great cat who preceeded Firestar in leading ThunderClan. But most probably don't know of the struggles she went through, the losses she endured, and the decisions she had to make on while on her rise to power. Also hints at why Tigerclaw became so vicious and how ThunderClan cats earned the reputation as kitty pet sympathizers even before Firetar became a 'paw'.

"Bluestar's Prophecy" reads almost like a biography of this great feline leader, detailing her life from birth to taking over leadership of her Clan. Has everything: Drama, suspense, romance, secrets, lies, intrigue, a few shock moments...and, of course, the legendary battle scenes Warriors fans have come to expect. Can stand alone or act as a prequel to the "Into the Wild."

A great book, as I have come to expect from the writers of this series.

This book had me in tears so many times! Like all of Bluestars life is her suffering just to save her clan. This book really shows how Bluestar suffered and also why she went crazy. There was so much she had to endure!

* Her mom Dying in battle

* Her sister dying from a twoleg monster

* Giving her kits to Oakheart

*Getting a new mentor because her other retired

* Having a burden of lying to her clan

* Having to watch her kits grow up from another clan

* Having to never see Oakheart again except in battle or at gatherings

* Going crazy

* Her dying by drowning and remembering Goosefeathers prophecy

* Not getting to say goodbye to Mosskit

*Mosskit dying

So you must be wondering why give it a 4 then? Well I loved This book but compared to the original series it’s not as well written and I also sometimes kind of forgot it was her talking and narrating and not Firestar. It was also really slow pased.

This book is truely one of the best warriors books. Before I read this, I never really liked bluestar all that much, because mostly i remembered her as the crazy leader she became at the end of the first series. This shows her journey and i LOVED her. I loved how it showed her human(haha) side and i was honestly crying for her multiple times in this book. Some great emotional writing in here, especially Moonflower and snowfurs deaths, mosskits death, the relationship with oakheart, and her struggle within herself which occured many times. Erin made me feel Bluestars sense of dispair and lonliness so well. Just read warriors books. They are ao much more that kids books.
