Reading this spin-off means you get to experience some of the best moments in the main story all over again. One of those moments is in this volume, the unexpectedly one-sided duel between Tatsuya and a student council officer who dissed him.

An anime series of this spin-off is coming soon and reading the manga adaptation seems like a good way to prepare for it.

This second installment of the series seems to be missing some plot points but I believe that those plot points are likely covered in the other novel series. Which therefore means that I really should be reading them together rather than separately but as I did get this from the library I don't have the other series at the moment but we will look into it. Overall though I thoroughly enjoy the structure of the plot so far and the influences of the characters behaviors. Looking forward to reading the next installment of the series.

I'm super unfamiliar with manga but I won this in the giveaways. Although I'm probably not the prime demographic I actually really enjoyed this book. I didn't feel like I was missing much from the first volume, or at least didn't miss enough to feel like volume two was convoluted. I might not want to run out and buy the series but it was certainly worth the giveaway review and if this genre of manga is your style then I would recommend it.

The art continues to be excellent. The story was hard to follow in this volume. Too many new characters was one reason, but not the only one.

Retelling the story from another character's perspective really only works if that new perspective adds something to the plot...and this doesn't. New world information, yes, but for where we are in the story at this point, this book feels like it mostly exists to give Miyuki's brother complex more room to breathe. (And in all fairness, if you like that, you'll like this more than I did.)

Quite different than the original version.

I am very disappointed they left out the best fight scene in this section. They removed important section s out of the story and added stuff that made no sense. I was looking forward to this book after the first one but I am disappointed with the second. I Will hope the next one is better.

Loved the anime for The Irregular at Magic High School, of which this is a spin-off. The storyline in "Honor student" is pretty good, but the fan service is really blatant, which I don't like. So, only 2 stars; I would have given it a 4 for storyline.
