Aside from her comics work, she has also written several prose novels. She has published the six volume Big Draw Daughter Hatsu light novel series, as well as five gaiden (or side-story) novels related to her Red River series. All of these were illustrated by Shinohara herself.

Book 13! And it included no ravishment of Yuri! Mainly because Yuri wasn't around anyone who wants to Ravish her...though that one girl Alexandra certainly liked to cozy up to her chest...
RAMSES YOU LOW DOWN DIRTY DOG HOW COULD YOU DO THIS? WHY ARE MEN SO PETTY?
:ahem: So Kail sends Yuri (and Kash, Ilbani and basically everyone but Kikkuri) to counter the Arzawa attack and retake Beykal. Yuri does it with the sisters and Ilbani pretty singlehandedly while the officers are all kicking back. Also not that its a plot point right now, but Princess Alexandra of Arzawa is important later in the series.
Meanwhile Nakia is up to old tricks and had found a way to prevail--its a win/win situation for her actually and Urhi is all for it (rumor has it that Juda is his son?!). Much much later in the series we find out why Urhi is so demonstratively loyal to Nakia and its pretty much what everyone expects. I feel almost bad for Nakia, much like her sister Nadia she could have found happiness if they gave up murderous aspirations (Nadia at least does).

I do not see the point in writing massive reviews for mangas, simply because there are only three areas that matter: Fantastic plot, believable characters and stunning artwork. And in all 3 this manga once again excels. Perfect 5/5!!

What first drew me to this series was the romantic historical aspect. I loved how a modern day girl gets pulled back into the past. I don't know what it is about those stories that attract me so much, maybe it is the difficulty for the girl of fitting in and having to rely on the guy so much to be able to get along in the world.
I would really recommend this series to fans of Inuyasha, it has a lot of the same concepts.

Bueno las dudas que tenia en el anterior tomo fueron resueltas, Yuuri es la mejor, me encanto como resolvió conquistar varias ciudades, como se tomo el regresar o no a su casa, fue genia. EL FINAL EL FINAL POR FAVOR como me van a dejar así?!? me encanto y disfrute mucho de la lectura, quiero seguir ya con el próximo.

The best scenes were Yuri, her plan to subdue Arzawa shocked everyone, especially Il Ban.

Yuri è riuscita a diventare generale di metà dell'esercito ittita e si è messa di buona lena a conquistare città dopo città prima che la stella di Ishtar riappaia in cielo. E se la cava straordinariamente bene, anche se - mi chiedo - come possa una diciassettenne giapponese riuscire a governare un intero esercito. Per carità, bello che una donna sia a capo dell'esercito ma verosimiglianza zero.
Comunque, almeno in questo volumetto nessuno attenta alla virtù della povera Yuri. Forse, perché Alexandra, la principessa che viene offerta in sposa al generale dell'esercito (aka Yuri), le salta addosso come niente... ^__^
Tra l'altro, Uruhi non è morto. Della serie l'erba cattiva non muore mai... E Nakia ha deciso di distruggere la fonte dalla quale è uscita Yuri per impedirle di tornare in Giappone.
Credo che questo sia un tipico volumetto di transizione, in cui si prepara il campo per ciò che dovrò avvenire in seguito.

I found this series on a mere coincidence but it quickly became one of my all time favourites. I read the entire series in 1.5-2 days. It was truly wonderful and a joy to experience.

I re-read from teenager to grown up. Not the best idea...
This may be my third re-read of this series. I am pretty sure I read it twice in the first two years of it's release. I was young, I loved it. It was romantic. But after reading it this year (maybe +15 years later....), I was wrong. I just saw wrong turns, within wrong turns. Maybe as an adult, you see things differently.
If you,ve read a manga or book during your early years and end up reading them much later in life, you may end up like me- loving a series in the past and ruining it as the adult in you laughs for once enjoying them... :(
Do I recommend this:
