二十世紀旗手 [Nijūseiki kishu]
「無頼派」「新戯作派」の破滅型作家を代表する昭和初期の小説家、太宰治の初期作品。初出は「改造」［1937（昭和12）年］。序唱から終唱まで12篇の断章によって成り立つ難解な構成の短編作品で、近年それなりに研究が進んでいるものの同時代ではほとんど理解・評価されなかった。「二十世紀旗手」という矜持と「生れて、すみません」という罪意識の共存に表れているように、引き裂かれた現代人の心情を太宰なりに描いたとされる。
