Soul Mates: Magic

Rate this book
Abbey Fergus has grown up knowing she wasn’t human, that she was Fae. The little sister of the Prince of Light and Illusion and ruler of the Felidae Clan, Abbey has spent her life living between two worlds. This has never been a problem for Abbey, she enjoys both worlds, but it hasn’t ever been easy. She’s been protected from all things Dark all of her life. As a little girl, the humans thought she was the weird girl who talked to ‘ghosts’ in a strange language and were constantly testing her for autism. All because her Fae guards who were under glamour, taught her to read and do math long before the rest of the children. As a teen she was still the weird girl, very smart and a bit on the shy side, but because she was a friend of Daire’s (the Fae warrior disguised as a hot football player), the humans left her alone.
Now Abbey’s eighteenth birthday is approaching fast and her nice safe world has turned to chaos. She soon finds that Daire and the other Fae have been keeping a very big secret. The war between Light and Dark is still going on in full-force and The Queen of Air and Darkness is after her. So Abbey has some tough choices to make, like who to date, how to stop the Queen and what kind of leader she wants to be, because the deadline on her choices ends with the Winter Solstice…

I received this book in return for an honest review.

This was the best book in the soul mates series so far. The characters from the first two books have returned years later and we get to enjoy all of them from the eyes of Abby, who we met as a 2 year old in Soul Mates: Scent. Abby is the heir to the King of the Fae and has been raised and trained to take over when the time comes. She is spunky, smart, and struggling with the pull between the mortal world and the fae world. She is also struggling between adulthood and adolescence. Her personal guard, Daire, has been the fae she loves since she was a child and this story is mainly about their relationship as they struggle through the expectations of others and themselves to be together. Their relationship is so sweet and beautiful.

The pros: It was so much fun to get to know more of the characters from the previous books and to explore the magical world more than we have in the past books. The romance is sweet and clean, which is so refreshing and wonderful. It is great to grow with Abby as she learns to be the Queen she will be someday.

The cons: I don't always enjoy women who want to fight like men, and Abby is definitely that character. It is done very well, which is why I still enjoyed it. I also wished for a little more time with Daire and Abby when something bad wasn't happening and they weren't in a rush.

Summary: I loved the book and I look forward to (hopefully) more in this series ;) ;) I highly recommend it and I hope you enjoy it!

I received a copy from the author for an honest review. I have to say this is my favorite as of yet for the Soul Mates Series. This is Abbey’s coming of age as some would say and she’s had this secret crush all these years on Daire. Attempting to hide her feelings from him and trying to deal with the glamour that allows him to attend school and keep guard over her, she can only wish he feels the same for her. Daire is determined to keep his mind off the love of his life. The one that he has loved for so many years but feels he isn’t good enough for his Princess to be, Abbey. But when confronted by Abbey as to her true feelings, he can’t resist her charm. Pog is determined to destroy Abbey and all she is to become. Will the allegiance Abbey has with so many be strong enough to protect her and the ones she loves? And who will end up holding Abbey’s heart? I do believe I have another author to stalk.

I recieved a copy for an honest review. This is my favortie in this series, thus far. It is as action packed as the previous two. Fun new characters, as well as the wonderful charcaters I've grown to love. The developing relationship has a great story line. I couldn't wait to get back to it everytime I had to put it down. Hope there are more in this series to come!

I freaking love this series! if I could give it more then 5 stars I would! Elizabeth lance is a god! Abby and Daire are sooo adorable! I love them! and they can kick some butt! I so enjoyed there trips to the Never Never and I got a big kick out of the Goblin King! I so loved this book I never wanted it to end!

I such a big fan of Elizabeth's work she really knows what draws her audience in and knows how to keep them captivated throughout. She knows how to keep you guessing and how to keep you on the edge of your seat..lol...and best of all she knows how to spice it up and keep the hot guys coming and the romance a sizzling!...lol

The Queen of Air and Darkness was really brutal in this one brining out all the stops and all her big bad dudes. Her and Her daughter are really great Villains I love the way they strategize and come out all in force all the time, they are incredible villains.

if you haven't read these do so mow as they are the best! great for the paranormal fans out there like me!

10*s. I received an eARC copy of this book directly from the author in return for an honest review.

WOW, what a story this is. This author knows how to capture her audience heart and soul when adding words to paper and making her world so real and the lovable characters in each one of these stories. I have fallen in love with each character in this story. So full of romance, love, loss, and deep down in my soul I feel right there in the story with these characters. Their lives and feelings for each other is so breathtakingly beautiful!!! This is a RECOMMENDED MUST READ for anyone who believes, as I do, in finding your true soul mate, no matter color, race, or occupation you may have, even in the Paranormal world!!! Thank you, Elizabeth A Lance, for another heart wrenching, soul sucking, and mind blowing story!!!

Book Title: Soul Mates: Magic
Author: Elizabeth A. Nance
Page Count: 178

Note: I didn’t realize it until I was about halfway through, but this is the third book in a series. As I wasn’t lost at all. I am going to say it’s safe to assume that they can be read as a standalone. I always prefer to read series in order whether they need it or not though.

I signed up for a tour involving this book. It intrigued me enough to want to give it a chance. I have a thing about reading books with characters who are considered normal. Especially if they have a bit of a feisty attitude about them. I just kind of have a thing for the feisty or bratty attitudes.

I think the author did a wonderful job with the setting and the characters. All of the characters were quirky and unique., The worlds were described beautifully and with great distinction from each other. I really want to go live in the fae world if I’m being absolutely honest. Well, the safe part of it anyway. I’m not really much for danger.

Abbey is what you would probably call a bull-headed individual. She knows what she wants and she goes after it no matter the consequences. At first, I thought she was very shy and timid. That was until I got to know her and people’s observations of her. She kind of comes off as snobby and self-absorbed, but I don’t see her like that at all. I just think she doesn’t think the way that most other people think. I related to her in the fact that people have thought I was weird all of my life.

I wouldn’t say there were any plot twists in this book. At least none that I could think of. There were parts of the book that kind of came out of nowhere, but they weren’t really a big shock factor. I’m not sure if I’m describing that correctly. I mean the moments were intense, but I didn’t get overly shocked about things coming out of left field.

I would say that Daire stood out more than anybody. It seemed like he was the one that just kept getting put in the middle of all of the danger. He was also just as bull-headed as Abbey. It was very obvious from the very beginning of the book that they both had feelings for each other. The two reminded me so much of Dimitri and Rose that it’s not even funny.

I think this would make a wonderful movie. I’m very bad at picking people to play other people. I’m also very underwhelmed by a lot of the picks that are chosen in adaptations, but I digress. I think this would be a very high fantasy-like movie. It would be similar to Lord of the Rings, but not as intense or long.

There were quite a few scenes that I feel like should have had more flair and drama. Something major happens. I won’t say what for obvious reasons, but it just kind of ends. It’s resolved properly. But there’s no real intensity. It leaves a lot lacking, to say the least.

The ending was very beautiful. I won’t get into the details. Again, for obvious reasons. It wrapped things up beautifully. It also added to my suspicion that this is a series of standalone novels. Either way, I would have liked to read the first two books. I’ll just have to add them to the list.

Soul Mates, Magic was the first book that I have read in this series and it was an easy, yet exciting book with an edge of your seat plot.
I like Abbey, although she is the future queen of light and illusion, she does not rely on her warriors to be her sole protection. She is more than capable of kicking butt herself. It was interesting to see Abbey’s two sides. The teenage human and the queen in waiting.
Daire is the fae warrior who Abbey has wanted for the longest time, he is handsome, brave and everything Abbey dreams of.
While this is their story, there is a whole lot to this world, which I really enjoyed learning. The Fae world that Abbey will one day rule has some fabulous differences from our world, but has been written in such a way that it pulls you in, without overwhelming the reader / listener with world building.
Andy Garcia-Ruse did an outstanding job with the narration. There were so many characters to represent and each was done well. Given the number of different accents, and voices, this was an impressive feat.

An excellent continuation of the Soul Mate series by Elizabeth A. Lance. We meet Abby in this story, who is the heir to the King of the Fae. Abby is raised between the mortal world and far world. As she struggles between them she is thought to be a shy, strange and weird girl. Daire is her fae guard, who she as been in love with sense she was a child. I loved the characters in this book. All of them have unique personalities and remarkable histories that make them realistic.
This story revolves around their struggles to be together with all the outside influences. I enjoyed this book and look forward to more from this author.

Abby has grown up with access to two worlds as she is also fae. Daire is her protector in the human world and she has grown to love him. At age, she learns that the war has still be going on and that the enemy is out to kill her. Her brother, the king, has kept her away from so much... and it all reveals itself now. The characters are fantastic with great backstories that bring them to life. The suspense stems from conflict at school, as well as the war and not knowing what to do next. The story pulls you in and does not let go.

Abbey is in high school and about to turn eighteen when she’ll have some tough decisions to make. Being a fae princess living in the human world hasn’t been easy for her. Daire, a fae warrior has been protecting her since she was a toddler but the secrets he’s been keeping are about to surface. I enjoyed this exciting story. I’m looking forward to the next one. If you read book one then you know Max and in book three we get his little sister Abbey's story. Abbey was raised knowing that she wasn't human. She also knew that when she turns eighteen her world is going to change. This is an entertaining YA paranormal romance with interesting characters, action, drama, romance and a story that flowed smoothly from start to finish. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This is the third book in the series but the first for me and I enjoyed listening. It almost has a forbidden love feeling to it and when you add the magical components it makes it even better. Overall it was written and narrated well.

This story is about Abbey who we first meet as a toddler in Soul Mates: Scent. She's the heir to the throne of her great grandfather, Auberon, the King of Light & Illusion. She's been under the protection of Fae Warrior, Daire, since she was 2. She has strong magic & she's always been thought a little weird. Now that she's in high school, she's pretty much left alone since she's friends with Daire pretending to be human & is a popular, good-looking football player. She's been in love with Daire for a long time, but he has always treated her as a kid sister. When she finds out that everyone around her has been keeping secrets from her she refuses to be left on the sidelines. She's on a tight timeline for several decisions, but the one thing she will no longer accept is not having Daire as hers.

Abbey is so spunky that you can't help but laugh & smirk at things she says & does throughout the entire story. I found myself falling, once again, for all of the male characters (ok, not the Goblin King) wishing that there were men like them in real life. :) The characters are well-created & are each unique in their personalities & traits, as well as the magic at their fingers. You get lots of different locations & a variety of character types. All are well-developed & greatly written. This series is a great one & needs to be on your TBR list. Elizabeth Lance has another hit on her hands with this one.
