Rate this book
What has happened to the Christian men out there?

We’re called through the Bible to be bold when it comes to our faith, but it seems most of us are just happy being fake, lukewarm, and nowhere close to our true calling.

Man Up! was written to challenge men who have wanted more in their faith but just can’t seem to get out of the starting blocks. This book will stretch you, challenge you, and kick you out of your comfort zone and into true, passionate faith in Jesus Christ.

It’s a 40 day challenge for your soul. The question is: Are you ready for it?

I've been testing out various shorter devotional books and this was on the Kindle. I was honestly expecting something macho and that I was going to hate it, but this was not that much to my relief.

However, it was 40 days of essentially someone telling you off, to grow up, take some more responsibility and try just a little bit harder for the sake of Jesus not to be such a klutz. While none of the admonishments were particularly wrong in themselves, after 40 days it wasn't doing my soul any good. It was far too weighted on 'what I need to do' and not nearly enough on 'what Jesus has done for you'. In other words it was far too much works and not nearly enough grace.

I'd agree with the general premise the author works with, that far too many men are not taking enough responsibility for their lives, actions, faith and need to put the game controller down but in order to be effective and not just produce guilt this devotion needed to have more than the one approach it used.
