FROM AUTHOR'S WEBSITE: I'm a native of central Maine, and grew up on a small farm with a wonderful mom and dad, three sisters and a brother. Most of my books take place in small towns, many of them in Maine.

My husband, Jim, and I moved to his birth state, Oregon, for a while after we were married, but decided to move back to Maine and be near my family. It allowed our six children to grow up feeling close to their cousins and grandparents, and some of Jim's family have even moved to Maine!

Our children are all home-schooled. When Jim retired from his vocation as an editor at a daily newspaper, we moved from Maine to Kentucky.

I've always loved reading, history, and horses. These things come together in several of my historical books.
Another longtime hobby of mine is genealogy, which has led me down many fascinating paths. I'm proud to be a DAR member! Some of Jim's and my quirkier ancestors have inspired fictional characters.

For many years I worked for the Central Maine Morning Sentinel as a freelancer. This experience was a great help in developing fictional characters and writing realistic scenes. I also published nonfiction articles in several magazines and had several short stories appear in Woman's World, Grit, and Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine.

Great conclusion to this series as another murder occurs in small town, Baxter Maine. The will indicates that the murder victim's daughter should inherit, but she is dead. But when two young women turn up that claim to be the granddaughter of the deceased, who is really the granddaughter: one or the other, neither, or both? And who committed the murder?

Definitely, a different and enjoyable twist on a cozy mystery.

I’m going to have to check out more of Susan Paige Davis’s work

This is the third book I’ve read by Susan and I’m a fan. The Mainely Mysteries series is not in line with most of the series I read, when it comes to 98% of the characters are nice and friendly people, but most are not by Christian authors. Nonetheless, the books have been better even in the Christian angle.

It also is comforting to know her book’s won’t do a nosedive when it comes to sex, profanity, etc. as other series have.

Another Winner

A good mystery with a lot of twists plus a sweet romance. Besides that, faith in Christ is beautifully shared with the hurting as well as wicked people. Just a wonderful read for those who enjoy Romantic Suspense.

A third chapter in the life of Nate and Emily. A murder interrupts plans with their upcoming wedding. Who would do such a thing? A good read in the cold weather.
