Strapped with the weight of being a favorite of one of the sisters of Fate, Hayden struggles to find his place in the world.
When he finds himself being hunted by two vengeful Archangels, he must learn to rely on four strangers who he knows next to nothing about.
Hayden, Luke, Sarah, Makkar, and the mysterious Kane must learn to overcome their differences, which span lifetimes, and work together if they want to survive the onslaught of divine retribution constantly raining down around them.
With the lines between right and wrong blurred so far and both sides willing to break all the rules, this is humanity’s last chance to come out of this battle on top or be destroyed by a holy war that was never meant to be ours to fight.

First off - I liked the first two books (Blessed and Cursed), enjoyed the third (Saved) a bit more than that, and well, this one bowled me over and sucked me right in. I laughed from the get go (sometimes until my sides hurt), enjoyed the twists and turns, and even (GRRRRR) cried a bit too. Crying for me when I read a book is a bit of a rare thing, just so you know. And the sex! Some good M/M and M/M/M sex here!!! Yes, the girly bits, too, but it was all good!!!
That being said - This is hands down the best book in the series. I LOVED this book. I laughed, cried, snorted and chortled. Looks like after a few bumps and stumbles David Michael has found his way. Smoother writing, better dialogue, better interaction between the characters and quite frankly, funnier. The editing is clearly better. The characters are sexier and snarkier. And I love them for it. I was definitely looking forward to this because I knew there was going to be an m/m - m/m/m factor to this, and I was not disappointed. The characters fit perfectly into the storyline and their interaction - that was written with humor and sensuality and just sexy as hell.
I'd be remiss if I didn't advise – although this is my favorite, and it can be read as a standalone, because of the intricate subject matter and ongoing storyline, it is better to read this story in series order.
The continuation of this paranormal journey was so entertaining, I didn't want to put it down until it was done. And then David Michael one-two-sucker punched me with a surprise twist at the end (that I'm still recovering from), thank you very much, good night. And though I'm still smarting, am I waiting for the next and final book? Don't hate me for it - Damned right! :D
Emotional, Sexy, Funny....yeah, he did it again! Throughout the process of creating The United Series, David Michael has continued to evolve as an author and has taken his readers on an exciting adventure in each new installment. This latest book, Damned, was no exception. He seemed to break down walls in order to bring his fans .... MORE.
Stronger character development, lots of that humor that makes you laugh out loud, battles that make you say "Hell Yeah!" while you read and lots of seriously HOT sexy scenes made this book SINFULLY good!
David dove deeper into the emotional sides of his characters in Damned. He showed both their strong and soft sides making you love them that much more completely. You're so entrenched in them, you'll want tissues nearby when he surprises you on the journey.
This book has become - by far - my favorite of the series. David just continues to create such beautifully woven stories that continue from book to book.
He ends Damned with an exciting twist that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what's next for his crew of characters in the final installment of the series! Based on history....It's sure to be another favorite! Until then... Well Done, David!!
This is by far the best book of the series. Luke (my love), Sarah and Mak are all back, and they're joined by Hayden and Kane. And remember the two crazy Archangels from Cursed (book 2)? Well their brothers are back and they are not happy! These 5 get themselves into and out of some major trouble; and there's some fun shenanigans along the way. Let's just say I'll never look at playing Go Fish the same way again ;) This book is hilarious and will suck you in. It will definitely have you running the gamut of emotions; from laughing so hard you can't breathe, crying, and most like gasping in shock and disbelief. The ending will leave you wanting more and possibly yelling at your walls. Don't throw your kindle at the cat! David has worked out any kinks he had in the previous books and put out a real gem this time. United, the fifth and final book of the series, is out in December and I may already be harassing him for this one ;)
**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**
**3.5 STARS**
It was an interesting read, once I got into the flow of the story. I held on. It held a high suspense factor. The hot steamy sex scenes were worth the price of admission. I don't know if I am #teamKane or #teamLuke...decisions decisions?!?!
So, if you read the description on Amazon or Goodreads, you already know that this is a whole lot of hot rolled up into one book. Even after spending hours talking to an author about plot ideas and character development, you aren't always prepared for how it will all come together and blindside you. David exceeded all my expectations with this book. I wasn't prepared on any level for the vulnerability, the emotion, the connectedness of these characters to each other and to me. To know that these characters have been through hell, literally and figuratively, with each other FOR each other shows that no man is an island. I fell in love with Hayden's big heart and his appreciation for birds, Kane and his sexy confidence and unwavering support, Luke and his fierce protection of his 'family', Makkar's ability to hatch a plan and Sarah's never ending font of love for the men in her life. There are days when you look around and can literally see these characters in your everyday life. At home, at work, on Facebook, and THAT is what makes this book unlike many paranormal stories out there today. The imagined and the unimaginable taking over your life and you end up learning how to see past all the crazy and go straight for what matters. The people you love.
I loved this book! Mr. Michael is a master storyteller. His characters and description of New York City and the astral plane were so beautifully crafted that I instantly fell in love.
This book is NOT a stand-alone. It is the fourth book in the United series and should be read in order. I have to be honest; I was worried that I’d feel like I was missing something because I haven’t read the previous books. Although it would have been nice to know Luke, Sarah and Makkar’s stories, that didn’t hinder Michael’s ability to suck me into this world one bit.
Each character was developed perfectly and the author’s detailed descriptions of their inner workings really brought them to life for me. Their sarcasm and easy banter had me laughing out loud at times.
Living in New York, Hayden is doing his best to keep to himself and survive the best way he knows how. On a visit to the astral plane one of the Fates, Fortuna, gives Hayden a gift in the form of a gorgeous man named Kane. Made of muscle and the gentlemanly charm from a previous decade, Hayden is unable to resist. As their relationship blossoms, the life he’s worked so hard for and the mother figure he found in Fortuna are both threatened by two Archangels who are hell-bent on revenge for the death of their brothers.
~*~ “You’re here with me now for one reason, Hayden. You are about to come to one of those crossroads. You will be faced with a decision and the path you take will have consequences far beyond the scope of what even we can plan for. It is unheard of that any of us would take to a single mortal like this and give them a glimpse at the road ahead, but given the weight of the situation we have deemed it a warranted risk.” Well shit. That sounded foreboding. ~*~
As Makkar, Luke and Sarah arrive in New York, they don’t quite know what they’re looking for. When Luke finds Hayden, he discovers their purpose and is determined to protect them all from danger.
With some help from the Fates and his new band of friends, Hayden sets out on a mission that turns out to be much more than he bargained for.
The plot coupled with some of the hottest m/m scenes I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading had me on the edge of my seat! I can’t wait to read the other books in the series.

I was given Damned by David Micheal (Book 4 of The United Series) for an honest review! I hadn't read any of the first three, so being the bookworm I am, I had to go back and read them. I was really surprised by the storyline. The series was one of those you don't judge by the cover, because it really had a lot more going on with all the different characters. I loved that the author never stuck to one point of view. You really got every perspective, it was actually a first for me, usually you have one or two POV's , or two different story directions, but everyone got their say. The book has shocking outcomes and surprises you won't see coming. I really loved that the relationship, or love interest was very different, and a nice change to what I like to read, M/M/M, F/M,and just M/M. The books about a young man who has always been alone, and had to do anything to survive. His only friend is Fate, and he has incredible powers, but Fate gives him a gift he can't give back, or wants to. Then he is being targeted by heavenly body's, and doesn't know why until he meets new friends, who know exactly what's happening, because they have already been there and done it! I'm usually not into a lot of story's that have to much of a religious background, but this really doesn't go into a preaching aspect, or good versus evil, and really was more about a human survival instinct with a powerful-twist. I'm looking forward to the next book. To see if by chance if my man Kane makes an appearance. I can only hope, but I still want to see this series through to the end. I'm hooked now! For all paranormal romance readers out there that like different sexual relations with magical and fantastic characters this is the book for you!
This is my first time reading this author so I did not know what to expect. The title alone was intriguing so was the expert. As I started I kinda feel like Alice who went down the rabbit hole but liking what I am reading quite different. I am encountering characters that have body that is good for me because otherwise boredom would set in quickly. The humor between Hayes and Kane pull a chuckle or too. It is a fast paced book also because quickly there are others that converge onto this city whom also are very interesting indeed. The talents that some of these guys have are different as I mean to say the storyline is unique that everything fits to each person like a puzzle. I will also say Luke is a card but like how is comfortable with space he shares. Now what is after them playing the bad guys usually not many have guts to go that route but this author does. And how he brings other elements into the storyline like fate etc. is refreshing also. That is what us the readers needs in a novel today. We need something that does not follow the crowd in order for us to sink our teeths into it and stay chewing on it. Cat and mouse game that goes on is not your ordinary game with relationship action thrown in the mix. I would even go as far as to say this is one rollorcoaster ride adventure that takes pit stops in the bedroom for fueling pleasure. I also was very happy with the outcome except for one tiny detail on who is lost but leaves them with a big reward. I do believe also this author is not done with the reader yet because of the last few pages and who shows up but then that is just more to devour and love from this author. Received a arc for a honest review.

I was mistaken when i wrote my review for Saved, book 3 of the United Series as i believed that this book, Damned would be about Aziza, Ardra, Landon and Kaiser but this one brings us back to Luke, Sara and Makkar from book 2. They end up meeting Hayden and Kane. Together they must defeat the Archangels who are out to kill Hayden. There is a great twist at the end which is brilliant but i won't give it away.
It did become very confusing in places and the story became blurry. There are a few sexual scenes especially a sex scene involving Hayden, Kane and Luke. It was new to me as i have never read about a male threesome but it was done in a superb way that didn't make me feel uncomfortable when reading it. As i said before, i really enjoyed the end and now i have to know what happens next. It is left on a tiny cliffhanger but it's hard to explain without giving away the ending.
I have always found that with these books, i get sucked in half way through as it takes a while to understand what's going on but once you do, it's funny and enjoyable to read.
This is a great book. I loved it and while there were points that were a bit confusing, and albeit sometimes slow, I kept reading. I really want to read the other books in the series (I know that the confusing points will be cleared up, or at least I hope they will) if I read them first. But make no mistake; it's still a great read!
Each of the characters are unique onto themselves, and have enough depth that they just draw the reader in and refuse to let them go once the story takes flight.
There is just enough heat in the story to set fires, but not so much that it turns into an out of control mess. The tension between the main characters simply feeds the flames and again draws you in without drowning the reader.
I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of the books! I received this book to read and review for Sexyways Of Reading.
I am giving this review for author David Michael. This is my first time reading anything by the author but I must admit that this book took me by surprise.
Hayden is a mortal and with the insight of an immortal Fortuna, Hayden is told he and a couple others are chosen to help man kind between Light and Dark forces. But along the way their path finds a few hurdles in their way and things might not be the same again for them.
I like how the author did not throw any bumps in the story line and it was smooth from start to finish. The characters although sometimes sluggish with their interaction together they did hold my interest in the book.
This is for mature paranormal readers because of the sexual content of M/M/M, M/F or M/M in the story lines. If you are offended by these situations then this book is not for you.
This book has really surprised me!!! Honestly it reminds me a bit of the show Supernatural with the archangels and all but of course with more detail and excitement. This is the first book I have read by David and of course I am i the middle of a series which bugs me but with this book I was able to catch on to what was happening. I have only read one other m/m writing and it did interest me and with David and the sexy characters WHOO I can add that to my genre of books that I want to read. There were tears, and some chuckling (trying not to wake up hubby at night)..And the ending can we say WHAT??!!!I can really reread this book over again and I truly think I will get the whole sees..LOVE IT **HONEST REVIEW REQUESTED BY AUTHOR ARC**
I loved this book- The characters were well written, the plot kept you engaged and wanting more. I read this in two sittings only because I had to. It was a fun, sexy read that I will read again. You will want to read this series and everything else David writes. You can stalk him on FB and Twitter.
