Andrea Neiman was raised to believe one thing— love sucks. She doesn’t date and she most definitely doesn’t trust any man that isn’t her father. After picking her essay topic for her Psych class, she quickly finds out that her paper is hard to complete without one thing— a test subject.

Enter Tyrus ‘TK’ Kimball— a senior basketball player that is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery that is Andrea. The only way that he can even get close to her is to agree to help her with her assignment and hope that it’s enough time to break down her walls..

I’m torn over whether this is a 4 or 5 star read. I genuinely loved it but it was a little long. I feel like TK and Rae didn’t have to go through as much as they did but I can also see why they did for this to be a coming of age story. I still really enjoyed the story and the characters.

I need the girls to talk about TK as bae a little more in these bookish streets because honey that is a man! To be so young yet so secure, so supportive, so emotionally aware.. I’m obsessed! The man was everything from start to finish. He was a lover, a communicator, and so selfless but showed out when absolutely necessary. Tanon did her big one writing him.

I loved how Andrea developed. I even loved the evolution of her paper! There was no trickery, nobody playing games, she knew who she was even in her flaws and was open to explore becoming a better version of herself. She really grew up over the course of the book and I appreciated the journey with herself, TK, and her family.

.evol is love backwards.. it’s evolution. The love story was a true coming of age tale with a lot of ups and downs but the growth is something we love to see! This is definitely a great read!

Okay…This was *chef’s kiss*!
There were so many moving parts that had me so damn stressed out! At first I kept thinking “what does this have to do with them?! Let’s get to it already!” But to see each of these different parts impact these two so greatly!
I loveddd seeing the growth in them!

TK!! Love that boyyy!!

My girl Drea 🥹 I’m so proud of you 😩
Her parents still get the side eye from me though

Andrea parents screwed her up. They are a big reason for her being the way she is. I’m glad she got it together. Loved loved TK.

Tanon doesn't miss for me and that streak has continued with .evol. I'm a sucker for a coming of age romance and this gave me that and then some. Andrea was so jaded to be so young and after her first interactions with TK I knew she was gonna eventually make me mad. I was wrong, seeing her change and open herself up was heartwarming and I really was rooting for her. The added twists and side drama was perfect. The side stories helped move the story forward but didn't take focus off of the main plot. TK was nothing like the boys in college when I was in undergrad, that boy was special....and nasty to be so young. I loved everything about this story and I'm secretly hoping we her from these characters down the line!

Another hit!

Tanon always comes with a fresh idea for a storyline that you’ve never experienced before. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey of Andrea and TK, but also the individual personal developmental journey of Andrea. Though she made me want to choke her ass at times; once you get to the crux of her issues, you can’t help but root for her to win! This was such a great read! I really hope there’ll be more of TK & Andrea. AND I LOVED LOVED the cameo appearances of Cam & Shane!🤗🥰⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was okay! I enjoyed it overall but found myself tempted to give up on it early on with how juvenile most parts felt. Unfortunately, things didn’t get more interesting until halfway through the book. A lot of fluff could’ve been left out—even the side storylines felt a little random and mostly useless. I know they were college students but it seemed their relationship was a bit unrealistic for the time frame and the deep feelings, too.
