Both Gabriel Moonlight and his horse were more dead than alive when the young girl, Raven, found him. Sot in the back, he was nursed him back to health by her and her widowed mother, Ingrid, with the aid of an Apache medicine woman.

They hid him from the posse hunting him for killing a wealthy rancher's son and two friends who'd cut a swath through the territory backed by the old man's wealth. they were responsible for Ingrid being a widow.

The farm had been sold and they were to join her stepbrother, a rich banker, in California. Gabriel had things to clear up, a man wanting him dead and a friend he needed to let know he was still alive.

Then he went to California where he knew his heart lay and ran into more trouble.

the stepbrother wanted a valley near the town and the old man who controlled it refused to sell or move. The stepbrother was planning to drive them out and assumed Gabriel, an obvious gunman, would help.

That wasn't what he was there for.

When the valley people grabbed Ingrid and Raven, his mind changed and he went after them. Alone.

Fine little western from Blackhorse.
