The ultimate guide to improving your golf game – and your mind – in every round you play, GOLF: The Art of the Mental Game - Less Frustration, More Consistency, Lower Scores - Text Only Edition, features a hundred brilliant game-changing tips for improving any golfer’s score. Best-selling author and PGA/LPGA golf instructor Dr. Joseph Parent presents everything from the essentials of playing the game to the keys for keeping your composure and that mental edge over your opponents.
Dr. Parent’s first book, ZEN GOLF, has been the best-selling mental game book for many years, with a quarter-million copies in print worldwide. Golf: The Art of the Mental Game - Text Only Edition, his latest book, provides golfers with 100 of Dr. Parent’s most powerful tips to prepare for, execute, and – equally important – respond to the results of any golf shot. As is has for thousands of other golfers, it will help you play with more consistency, experience less frustration, and shoot lower scores.
This is a wonderful book and an absolute must-read for golfers at any level - the keen insights include perspectives and ideas that are helpful reminders for all. Each brief tip is presented on its own page, and each tip is valuable. I've tried to absorb one or two each day. If only that were truly possible - I would surely be a scratch golfer! Now that I've completed the book, my plan is to go back to Tip #1 and begin all over again. I anticipate that this is a book I will be reading and re-reading in perpetuity!
This is not only a great checklist on the mental game, but a great set of reminders for one to use during setup. The book contains several useful swing thoughts for every facet of the game. It suggests a new set of things to focus on when setting up. Each tip hones in on the essential factor that either necessitates or prevents a successful shot, especially when one's mechanics are sound.
I would not recommend this book. After reading a couple of Dr. Bob Rotella golf books I thought this might be a good read, but it does not stand up to Rotella standard in terms of understanding the Mental part of the golf game.
