There were a couple of interesting little call outs to the regular Ultra lore in here that I liked, such as bringing in Windam, so maybe that'll mean we'll get this universe version of the other capsule monsters at some point. Some story seeds that had been planted before now seem to starting to bare fruit but not at a fast pace. So this does seem like the calm before the storm as they say despite the major fight scene that was the biggest focus of this particular volume. There was something else debuting this particule volume but saying what it is would be a tad spoilery
This was a very quick read. The fight scenes really do make things go by fast. We got a bit of important background information though. And we got to see how tensions are growing in the immigrant alien community. Also, there seems to be a big event on the horizon that I hope we get to learn more about in the next volume, because it seemed kind of like a big deal. I've already requested the next volume.
The aftermath of the battle in New York reveals new secrets from the Land of Light and the Leo brothers stop by while tensions between the aliens and humans grow. Art is fluid and dynamic and the story manages to raise the stakes even more.
Yet another volume that strays more and more from the soul of Ultra, while digging deeper into the mythology to bring new characters - based on classic characters - to life. The stakes are higher than ever, and a new menace is here.
This is more of a setup volume, but it still has some great action scenes with the Leo Brothers and Seven - now with Windom!
