Excellent and Approachable

I purchased this book for a research paper I needed to write in graduate school. The examples and descriptions were easy to understand and would be accessible to almost any reader. It also offers methods for the psychologist to improve this method. I highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in this method or is looking to increase their knowledge.

Usually I hate books that have too much repetition of a concept. But this book is written in such great detail and the concept are repeated so much that you never get lost when reading a new chapter. The writer also summarizes every chapter in the end which also keeps you on track.
Moreover, the book contains so many great exercises and gives details on how to ask the questions and what responses are expected and how can you respond to them. In short, the book is a step by step guide for those who want to professionally practice solution focused therapy. I also recommend it to teachers and parents as it might help them carry on difficult conversations with students/children.

If you are looking to add Brief Solution Focused Therapy to your therapeutic tool chest, you have come to the right place with Bannink's book. She walks you through from starting the therapy session to terminating with a client. I love the questions and have already incorporated them into my practice.

Somewhat repetitive

Some things are a little repetitive and questions are somewhat similar. It does have some great points to get you thinking how to better serve your clients.

Most excellent source for starting conversations with clients and leading others to self-reflect and self-evaluate.
