Really just a trip report in my paper form though dry & disengaging.

One of those walks that when I was younger was on my wish list of things I'd loved to have done. Now its just a dream of something I should have done when capable!!

Loved the book as a way of planning any great walk but as a travelogue of his walk I feel that it missed something - I think he's failed to put across his passion for the wilderness and a lot of what he saw seems to have been missed out. There was room for so much more description - even so its still a good book and will without doubt be read again through another long winter.

Chris Townsend backpacks the Canadian rockies over the course of a summer. It's a great adventure, and he's very hardcore, but I felt his narrative of the story lacking. It didn't draw me in, and I felt like he left out a lot. It's an inspiring adventure, and a good resource if your planning on doing a similar trip, but he could have done better as a writer.

One of my favorite authors describing his backpacking trips. Read all of his books.

Recounting of the author's backpacking trip along the spine of the Canadian Rockies. Enjoyed the scenery descriptions and his travelogue; sounds like a stunning place to visit.
