My cover doesn't look like this, but the ISBN agrees and mine is by Tokyo Pop.
I'm kinda ashamed to say so, but I enjoyed much of this. The art is good and the story is mostly clear and humorous. I hope they can keep it up foe 11 more volumes.
Dummy thick, sugar tits.... that's some of the dialogue in this manga, it's just terrible.
I just wanted a martial arts story with girls, something like Dragons Rioting, Vol. 1, now that series had it's own problems but this was so much worse.
Every fight ripped our leads clothing, exposing her breasts, with a bunch of panty shots to go with it. Add a cousin who wants to screw her, just awful!
Primer tomo de Yuji Shiozaki publicado en Argentina. Probablemente repite ISBN de la edición española, y luego fue republicado sin sobrecubiertas. La serie se completaría más de 12 años después en su tomo 25, mediante la línea de mangas importados.
Uhhh, wth? SPOILERS : The premise is that ancient heroes tried to unite China, and now their spirits are in, essentially, earrings, and they make Japanese high school kids fight to the possible death. That's your violence, but now add the sex, of which they are somewhat circumspect, somewhat. You have abundant side boob, under boob, all around boob, without nipple, and then there is abundant upskirt and cameltoe. One male student is getting a bj from a submissive non fighting female, and her hands are wrapped around, and her tongue is licking a blank spot on the page. The combat excites the young adults. One male speaks of how he will rape the female he expects to beat, but then she declares her orgasm during combat so there is that for equality. Another female has her orgasm choking a student to death. The author says how grateful he is for everyone's support. We have teen slasher movies, so wth?
I came to this after having watched the anime. The manga has a slower build-up, which is not unusual. However, I am glad that I had already seen the anime, as the story would be a little hard to follow otherwise - as admitted by the author in his afterword, where he states "...and make things easier to understand from here on." (p 160)
The story is based on the Chinese novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", and I have been told that reading this novel will make it easier to understand the back-story of this manga. But the back-story will be explained in more detail as the series progresses.
The art is good, but not exceptional. There is a reasonable amount of fan service but, if the anime is a good guide, there will be more as the series continues.
When the author promises "to make things easier to understand from here on..." at the end of the volume it really says it all. Struggled to see this as anything more than an excuse for T&A and more panty shots than most hentai.
This first volume doesn't really explain much. The top heavy heroine has a family heirloom magic stone that makes her super violent and after getting into a fight her mother realises that she has no choice but to pack her off to a special combat training school - she fights her way through various class mates whilst being ogled all the time by her cousin.
It you like T&A style manga, this is the series for you. This first volume does very little for me, although I do hear that it does get more plotty as the series continues. We shall see.
Gonna leave my overall rating for the series here, as I've read all of them so far and can't be arsed to do an individual one for each.
My favorite anime series in existence, next to "Naruto". I adore it. Not only is it interesting, being based on ancient Chinese history, but it's also funny, action-packed and sexy.
I don't just read this for the boobs and panty-shots but they are a plus no point lying about it lol, and to add, I am female. It's an amazing series, well worth the read and highly recommended on my part.
Yuji also stands as an inspiration to myself personally, as an adult artist. :D
