The Arrangement Box Set

Rate this book
This stunning romantic series is available for the first time as a five-book box set.

What if they tried to make you their slave?
What if they tried to make you their plaything?
What if they tried to make you their mistress?

These are the questions that April Masterson must deal with as she navigates her way through the intriguing world of The Arrangement. April is a girl who thinks she has everything: a nice home, beautiful daughters, a caring husband. When her husband makes partner at the prestigious firm he works for, things only look brighter. The firm provides them with an elegant new home, new cars, even servants. What could be better?

But all is not as it seems. Pretty quickly, April finds herself in situations she never could have imagined. Not only is she expected to play the role of the beautiful lawyer's wife, but she has to entertain the wildest fantasies of all four of the firm's senior partners. The stakes are high and she has no idea if she can do what these wealthy, powerful men expect of her.

In this world everything comes at a price. While the firm may have decorated her house, given her a pool, a chauffeur and a maid, there are expectations of payment. April is expected to pay in the only way these men feel a beautiful, young wife can pay.

She finds that she is fighting to protect her dignity and sense of self-worth as the partners begin to humiliate her and use her in ways she never could have imagined.

Will she be able to protect her identity from this onslaught? Will she be able to find her inner-strength and give her two daughters the childhood she never had?

And most importantly of all, will she be able to find true love in a world where love is treated like a toy, and women are seen as little more than expensive playthings?

Hi, my name is Abby. I hope you enjoy my exciting new romance and erotica stories.

I love stories about strong, female protagonists that give you a good character arc and background to the action as well as providing the steamy details of what they get up to. I am particularly attracted to themes like wife-swapping, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and public and group encounters.

I am thirty-years-old and live in the beautiful forests of rural Ontario, Canada, with my two dogs.

I hope you enjoy my stories. You are always welcome to contact me at: abby@type-writer.net

This was an interesting book on so many levels. I actually read the first part for free and it was enough for me to be intrigued but then I switched and read Abby Week's The Neighbor 1-6 (my review will be posted on those books in the next few days) and found myself coming back to The Arrangement.

I had debated even reading this series. I did my researched and looked at all the comments that were made for all the books. I've been sucked into books before where hardly anything big happened and yet there were like 10 "books" in the series. Books is in quotation marks because it was more like a teaser than an actual book. Something I am seeing more and more of.

Side note for a tangent: I realize that this must be a new big thing for many authors. Write a short story, call it a book and sell it for 2.99 But honestly, combined them all in one or two books and I will gladly pay 2.99-4.99 for it but NOT 2.99 for each part. It has to be a pretty spectacular book for me to pay anything more for that as a whole.

I've noticed a theme with her books. You have a heroin, that is strong in her own right but then they are degraded and torn down and they rise up out of the hell hole that they live in and make themselves whole again.

These books are so much more than just fluff books (or bodice rippers as I like to call them. My husband calls them female porn). Abby walks a very fine line and writes about controversial issues that makes one think. And honestly-that's what I like best. I like that her books make me think. I finished The Neighbor several hours ago and it is still on my mind and now I have to reread it, now that I know how it will end.

In some ways, I'm tempted to do that with The Arrangement as well. Sure you have your steamy romance scenes-and there were plenty that I liked and then there were some that if this was a movie, I'd be watching it behind my fingers cringing.

There's a lot of degrading in this book. By the husbands and how they degrade their wives, but also by some of the women. What power can really do to a person. It makes you wonder that if you had everything you ever wanted handed to you on a silver platter would you be able to handle that kind of power and wealth? And she writes about that-and for the most part you can't. Even April felt compelled to go down on her servants and degrade them just to deal with the way she had been treated.

If you are of the faint of heart or looking for a mindless romance novel-this is NOT the series for you. This book will make you think, it will make you ask questions and you will stay up all night reading it to find out how it ends (I did. I even skipped a few parts just to see how it ends).

In some ways I felt like the ending was a bit rushed. I wish that the author may have added in an epilogue: Like what happens to April and her girls? Do they live Happily Ever After with Jack? What about Midge and Jimmy?

Whatever happens to Walter? I Honestly would have LOVED to read a scene about Herb taking him down several notches.

What happened to the law partners? Did April ever keep her promise to Frank? What happened to him?

It would have been nice if there was some sort of conclusion to all of that. I guess I like things to be tied together with a nice bow. Granted the author left things hopeful-I would still like to know how it all ended.

The characters were great. I hated Walter almost from the beginning. Typical domineering idiot that clearly couldn't handle the power given to him. He was the one who forced April into her new lifestyle yet blamed her for everything. Classic case of domineering abuse.

Kit-mixed feelings with her, until the scene at the Lace Cat. Couldn't stand her then.

Herb-Appears to be more of a grandfatherly type with a few kinks.

I was surprised by Frank. He clearly cared for April and did what he could for her, and so I guess that's why I am wondering what happened with him. Even if the author just came out with another novella to tie up loose ends, I would buy it for that reason. She could even add in the sex scene where April shares one more night with him. And maybe a few with Jack. The meeting with Jack I felt rushed. I can understand why but I didn't like the rushiness of it.

So if you were like me and you were contemplating this series, suck it up and read it. I didn't like the degrading aspect of it, but in ways some of the scenes are like the deepest darkest fantasies of women that will never come to light. Abby, took those to light. She also exposed people for who they are. We live in a messed up world and who is to say that this couldn't happen? And at the same time, people will surprise you.

One thing, after reading The Neighbor (I highly suggest that book), I kept looking for the new male love focus. I was jumping to every male thinking "Is it him? or him? or him?" Figures I had to wait 'til the end to find it.

It would be interesting if she wrote a book from the man's perspective. Instead of a heroin, how about there be a hero? Men are abused by women too. It could be an interesting twist.

NOTE: I got this when it was offered as a freebie on Amazon.

Not pleasant…at all. Don’t waste your money or your time. If I could give NO STARS, I would.

This started out as a Stepford Wives-type story, a good, but creepily weird premise. But turned into something worse as it went along. It includes, among other things, sexual humiliation and degradation, rape, and forced sodomy. This is the second and I can say LAST series I will read by this author. I don’t get off on the sexual humiliation and degradation of people, women especially. I don’t find it erotic or stimulating at all. I should have known this series would anger and disgust me because the other series of Ms. Weeks’ I read, The Neighbor The Complete Collection, also contained similar degradation (though I do have to say it did have a more satisfying ending). I finished The Arrangement for two reasons: I finish the books I start, and I had to see if the main character, April, would redeem herself and break free from the prison she was in, if only to get something good out of what I was reading.

I will put spoilers and other comments in a spoiler at the end of this review. Below are several quotes that give an idea of what you'll get with this story:

** April felt a creeping sensation running down her back. If there were only four houses, that meant the only other residents were the other partners. She’d imagined more houses, more of a community.

** Suddenly the place began to feel very claustrophobic. April was already struggling with the move, and the fact that the firm seemed to be controlling everything so tightly gave her a strange sense of foreboding. Now it was getting to be too much.

** Having a car made her feel independent, in control of her life. All her life she’d been afraid of being abandoned and having a car made her feel independent. It was like, no matter what happened, she’d at least have somewhere she could take the girls and be safe. That security had just been pulled from beneath her feet and it was making her panic.

** And so she began to set her mind on the objective of keeping Walter and his partners as happy as she could. If that meant that she would occasionally have to set her dignity aside and do something kinky or sexual for their enjoyment then that was something she would just have to live with.

** She thought about the amount of control she’d allowed Walter to gain over her life. He’d brought her to a new neighborhood, moved her into a house that belonged to the firm, taken away her car, put her under the supervision of servants and drivers, and then allowed his partners to have their way with her sexually. She could not have given up more control over her life than she already had. She was completely under the control of Walter and the other partners now and she was acutely aware of the fact. And as if that wasn’t all enough, now he’d taken away her two little babies so that she would be entirely alone.

** Walter to April: You’re not irreplaceable you know. I could find a hundred other girls to take your place and you’d be out on your ass with no where to go. You’d have nothing. Is that what you want?

** Walter to April: Your mother was a whore and a slut. Your sister is a drug addict. If I kick you out you’ll be right where you started, right where you belong. Is that what you want?

** The danger was that the exploitative relationship created within the arrangement was beginning to overcome her [April’s] own personality and change her.

** Carla to April: This is how they control you. They dangle your children in front of you like a carrot. They only let you talk to them and see them as a reward for behaving exactly as they want.

** Midge: If you’re treated like a slave for long enough, after a while you become a slave. You no longer think about freedom. You just think about the life of slavery that you live and how you can keep going.

** What Kit wanted was to dominate, to exert her will over the will of another. She wanted to dominate the weakness that was April’s will and completely break it. That was the drug that Kit was addicted to. By now, April was letting her own thoughts and her own will dissolve, but dimly she became aware of what made Kit tick. Kit wanted to dominate her like slave owners had dominated their slaves in the past, like queens had dominated their subjects, like the powerful would ever dominate the weak.

** She [April] had been crazy to think someone like her, someone who came from nothing, who had grown up in motels and boarding houses, could stand up against someone as powerful and determined as Kit Kingsley. Why fight what you cannot defeat?

** She [April] was so utterly humiliated that she didn’t even care any more [sic] what she did. If this was going to be her life from now on then she didn’t see much point in fighting against it. Things would go easier for her if she embraced what she had to become.

As I said at the beginning, not pleasant. This is one of those books that leaves you disgusted and wanting to shower.

Now the spoilers...

Bottom line, save your money and your time. If I could erase this from my mind as easily as I could my e-library, I would. ICK!

The arrangement it can be too dark for other people, and for others it can be a provocative, evocative, thought provoking series that can be read as either separate instalments or seamlessly as a whole. I appreciate how each unit has a beginning, middle, and end but aren’t quite complete without everything as a whole. Weeks creates an intricate storyline that consists of much more than simply racy scenes and compromising positions. Her vivid descriptions make everything pop and very visual.

I appreciate how the character development throughout this series is gradual. You get to see the main character coming into her own through some rather peculiar circumstances. Weeks doesn’t allow her characters to stagnate throughout, nor does she give anyone a magical personality change. Her characters stay consistent throughout, even if they do grow, or decay, as individuals.

Overall I gave them 3.5 to 4 stars, if you complete the lecture of this series... I always try to finish a book or a series, even if I ain't got thrill me at all at first...

I WISH I COULD UNREAD IT

I'm not quite sure what to say about this series, it's totally bizarre. The plot is utterly unbelievable and ridiculous. The main character April is married to Walter they have two small daughters. When he makes partner at his firm their lives change forever. They move to a gated community, but the only people living inside are the partners and their wives. I won't go into further detail other than to say that it soon becomes obvious that April is expected to become the partners sex slave.

Reading this was quite an experience and not a good one. It was like reading a Stepford Wives seedy spin off.

*** This gifted by the author, and this is my honest opinion***

Sexual Content - Scorching

This review is a 3 star - I LIKED IT , it was as the synopsis of the book stated, lets the reader know what it is about, So I knew from the start that this was an erotic tale of Domination and Control, and I did want to keep reading just to see where the Author was going, my dislike's wer with the writing style - NOT THE STORY - BUT THE LAYOUT, it actually took the enjoyment of reading away because I had to concentrate on READING so I was not getting into the characters as much as I would have.

for some strange reason the book uses a - convention for quotations as follows:

-I picked it out, you know, Kit said, and winked.

rather than the more conventional form:

“I picked it out, you know,” Kit said, and winked.

Okay you may say BUT the problem with that is that it can sometimes become unclear, making the reader have to stop and think about what the author is trying to convey - I had a hard time with it and it made me annoyed that my reading enjoyment had been turned into a Lesson.

Why differ from every other book that I have ever read that contains " ", it's a system that works and I also like the system of using ITALICS for Thoughts too - It makes it Clear and Simple.

JUST one other point I want to make regarding this strange layout style, is that I actually had another book Ms Weeks has sent to my Book Blog for review so after finishing this series I quickly opened it up to see how that was formatted and YAY it was laid out in the usual way, using " ". I can quite honestly say that I got straight into that book and I am 40% threw already and enjoying it.

Right back to this book...

I would also like to point out that this is a NOVELLA series that has been sold as a complete set, which is a popular format for authors of Novellas to do at the end of a series - It lets the reader decide whether to have them as singular sets or one neat package)

At time of writing this review Book 1 is free (so you can try before you buy and if you do like and want to carry on you can buy this full set)

Ms Weeks write Erotica, the subjects are controversial issues that makes one think and I like to read books that make me think.

The Arrangement is about April Masterson and how her life suddenly changes when her attorney-husband, Walter is made up to a full partner in his law firm.

The era of this book is not mentioned but 'her car was a Studebaker and the way she made sure that she was dressed appropriately and made up for his return, that the children were seen and not heard, reminded me of those excerpts from housewife Manuals from the 40-50's that said suggest it is set in the late fifties or early sixties.

In a blink of an eye April's old house is packed up and all her belongings disappear, her car is taken away (she loved that car!) she is moved into a mansion in the specially designed Firms Exclusive gated property, she is sent on an enormous extravagant shopping spree with the firms Interior Designer ( Think zebra skins and chandeliers, completely over the top ), Servants and a Car Service - her independence is quickly stripped from her without much objection from April, which again gave me the impression that the book is dealing with an era where women were not free independent entities, and were expected to be 'dutiful wives'.

Finally on the night of the welcome to the Firm dinner party for the new partner and his wife, Her husband brings in a dress box, for her to wear to the dinner, its shockingly sensual and short, something April would have considered Lingerie. But her husband demands she wear it, Once at the dinner when the meal is over, April is taken off by the 4 partners to another wing of the Mansion where she finally finds out what her role is in ensuring her husband stays partner and she and her children are taken care of.

The partners wives are considered corporate property, and are shared sexually amongst the partners, and more importantly used as a leverage or sweetener in gaining corporate deals.

Obviously they start off quite charming and after Walters almost boring love making, the encounter April had that night wasn't all that objectful.

Naughty, you know, but nice as they say

Walter ensures that April should go along with the “Arrangement" April is swept up in the heady arousal of being the object of desire for all of the Partners.

The next day the wives take her shopping, where they make her feel welcome to start with, when she accidentally upsets the Matriarch 'KIT' Wife of the Head Partner she is soon taught where her position lies in the dynamic - firmly at the bottom of the pecking order!

In the next 3 books there is a lot of sex, orgies as well abuse, both physical and emotional.

April is slowly and surely browbeaten into thinking that this is OK 'If only to please her Husband, and put her kids in a good school'!!

That's as much of the plot as I will give you as I don't do spoiler reviews.

Out of all the characters - Walter was my most hated, what a spineless jerk, he did this to his wife for a promotion and power at the expense of his wife and children and had the cheek to then get abusive and jealous with April!

Kit was no better - Obviously years of subjecting others beneath her had corrupted her into thinking it was her right to treat anyone as a sex object, steal their life and independence (and children! oh boy that was so hard to grasp happening in this day and age, another indicator of the era maybe being in the past)

By Book 5 April knows she is definitely over her head, she is technically a slave abate a slave wearing designer shackles and a satin covered cage!

But when she is sent to "Sweeten a deal" with some Very Influential Clients, Walter finally looses his shit, nearly brings the whole deal off the table and April has to do what ever she can to get the clients back to wanting the deal.

Go April - Giving it up for the team :P

But it drives Walter further into his rage and the outcome causes the storyline to quickly do a 180 and April is suddenly running for her life, desperate to find her missing children.

This book series doesn't end on a cliff hanger, it ends if a bit too quickly for my liking. I would have preferred an Epilogue.

For Walter and Kit to get their "Just Deserts" Boy I wanted those to to get some of what they deserved!

Did April get her HEA, safe with her two girls?

What happened to the Other Partners... etc.

I am not going to say anything more about the ending but YOU will understand what I mean, if you read the series yourself, the book finishes, but after all that tension I would have liked a few paragraphs of peace and happiness for the 'Good Guys".

So in conclusion - would I recommend this book set to others - YES IF you like Erotica and Slave scenarios and are not put off by the formatting.

Would I read one of Ms Weeks books again - well YES I am currently reading it.

My advice would be to try the Free Book 1 first before purchasing if you are still in doubt.

Good collection

Enjoyed the story lines, easy enough of a read to relax with.. Something fitting for vacations, travel, or even bath times. Recommend for female adults who like a little romance with a twist.

A new home and luxury are given to April by the firm when her husband becomes a partner, but it comes with a price. She must become a "sex slave" to the partners and their wives. At first, she somewhat likes the arrangement. She does not realize she is a virtual prisoner. She is pampered; unlimited luxury clouds her mind. Rebellion, however, becomes her goal when she realizes her children are being withheld from her and her husband is turning into a monster.

The writing style is straight-forward and suggests to me a minimalist approach that fits the story exactly. The plot development and characterization are satisfying in depicting what happens when a person sinks into a drowning pool. This is an intense, provocative, erotic telling. It is explicit in its depiction of the various sexual activities and persuasions, pretty much all that you might imagine. The pharse 'consequences of your actions' come to mind. This is the first book ever that I'm excluding from my update feed, because although I read all kinds of trash and I'm not ashamed of it, I still don't want to admit to all my family and friends that I actually read this. Yes, it's that bad. At least I didn't actually pay for the "box set," but read the installments one by one through kindle unlimited. It's the tale of a 1960s housewife named April who goes along with the odd wife-swapping "arrangement" shared by the partners in her husband's law firm. The writing was clunky, the characters were strange and unbelievable, and the sex scenes were just plain raunchy. I'm not a prude by any means, and I managed to get through the scene in the lingerie shop (with a WTF am I reading expression on my face, no doubt) but bailed in the middle of the third installment when I got to the pedophilia/incest fantasy scene (both characters are adults but acting out the fantasy), which was just...repulsive. I was describing the book to my husband and he was like, "LOL, that's porn!" Not for me. I guess I'm more of a snobbish "erotica" reader.

Family is everything to us. But what would you endure to keep your family intact. That is, the very same question April must answer. Walter has just become a partner in a very prestigious law firm. There are many perks and many more draw backs. The four partners share everything. A friendly dinner and their wives. Which would not be so bad if your whole life was not being controlled. Sex with Walter has always been a chore, but sex with the partners at times excite April. For April the perks do not out weigh the bad. Her children have been taken away and she has been isolated from the outside world. She has even been humiliated by one of the wives. Walter has become more controlling and unhappy with her part in the Arrangement.
I enjoyed reading The Arrangement. Lots of sex, interesting situations and Aprils courage to get away. Most of all the friendships that were formed.
Happy Reading!

Wow this was some book. It's about a couple Walter and April, anyways Walter joins a Law Firm, and the firm has him move his family into this expensive house and soon April has to say good bye to her children as they send them off to a boarding school. April and the other wives are sex slaves for the men of the firm and the main wife of the firm. Walter acts worse and worse and starts hitting April. She wants to get away and get her children back. I won't tell you whether she does or not. But this book was dark, different, and not something anyone would want to deal with. It was scary, I can't imagine someone having complete control over every decision I made. The firm had complete control. No one deserves to have that, they deserve love and a good normal life. Sure the house and shopping would be nice if it could be your own choice, but when someone else is doing that for you. It's heartbreaking. Great book.

So this is not a sweet romance if that is what your into. This collection is dark and about control and brain washing. It is very stepford wife. It also reminded me of the devil's advocate. So try a sample and if it's not your thing out is ok don't buy it but if you like your books dark you will love it. This book shows a side of humanity people don't feel comfortable looking at. I thought the writing was done well. I'm a little embarrassed to admit but I liked the steamy sex scenes also.
spoilers----
I read reviews from some that didn't like the ending, stated the husband should be tracking them down. It doesn't say he's not that's why they are gonna live off the grid and keep running.

The entire set was an enjoyable read for me. I wasn't sure how I would care for this story with the way wives were being used by the male employees of the company. But as the story progressed and the wives accepted and even liked their roles...it ended up being a good read. One that took me out of my comfort zone but still was very good.

I wish to thank Ms. Weeks for providing a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Abby is a genre onto herself. She is erotic to the extreme combining an action/thriller story, but above all else there's always a leading lady whose conflict captures your heart. What genre is that? A page-turner.
