With instructional books like these you often spend more times with certain sections while barely skimming others. It all depends on your particular level of skill and knowledge, as well as where your interest lies. Some books are more useful than others. This is one of the most useful guitar method books I have ever come across. If you have even the slightest interest in blues guitar this is well worth your while. I've been using it in conjunction with receiving guitar lessons and it has certainly brought about great improvement in my playing. Highly recommended.

Great lessons set out in a logical format with great songs and musical examples. The tracks used are very professionally recorded and performed.

This was a very useful instructional manual that if followed diligently, will give you a good understanding of blues as a form, as well as the basic scales and chords used to play it. Having played for a long time, a lot of the early lessons were review for me, but I did learn a good bit going through it, including new chord shapes, some reinforcement of scale positions I don't often use, and some blues idioms that I had forgotten. Towards the end, though, the lessons do expect a lot from you, giving you exercises to perform, but not writing them out. I found some of those rather difficult, and I'm a pretty seasoned guitarist. Some of them might be beyond your ability to figure out if you are just starting out. I'm glad I spent the time going through this, because it did improve both my playing and my writing.

Just gone through this for the 2nd time as a refresher before moving on to the others in the series. This is the 'flagship' for the set of 7 books, and an excellent method for anyone wanting to learn blues guitar - I've read & used many guitar books over the years, and can honestly say this is the best available in its field, really should be the 'industry standard'.

really clear, you can find the excercises in youtube or the audios in the internet. Excellent aproach to the theory behind the blues at a entry and intermediate level. Once you finish this book you can be pretty proficent performer as a lead or rhythm blues guitar.
