Duh, saya enggak ngerti deh... Uuuurggh... binun deh... :p
Eniwei, di jilid ini, saya sih nyaranin (???) si Yuri jadian aja sama Ramses, Jenderal Mesir. Cakep kok, Ramses. Ditambah lagi, Yuri gak bakalan terancam nyawana karena si ibu tiri suri gak bakal ngejar-ngejar dia kalo ikut Mesir kan? Toh, Ramses cakep~ #tetep Iya, Ramses cakep lho~ #masih Ramses cakep~~~ <333 #ngotot?
Sudahlah. Ini yang namana... eeeer... CINTA BUTA :v :v :v *setel lagu mellow*
Well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy that But I will admit I was a bit surprised that Shinohara-sensei even allowed it to happen. It does make good story, but it's not all happy hearts and rainbows that shojo manga usually is.
What first drew me to this series was the romantic historical aspect. I loved how a modern day girl gets pulled back into the past. I don't know what it is about those stories that attract me so much, maybe it is the difficulty for the girl of fitting in and having to rely on the guy so much to be able to get along in the world.
I would really recommend this series to fans of Inuyasha, it has a lot of the same concepts.
I found this series on a mere coincidence but it quickly became one of my all time favourites. I read the entire series in 1.5-2 days. It was truly wonderful and a joy to experience.
I'm still very 'all in' with this series but loses a star because I loaaath a miscarriage arc. It's so upsetting and it's never handled properly imo because there's just no way in my eyes to handle it properly. So loses a star for that. If it was too soon for the MC to be pregnant she just shouldn't have been, miscarriage as a plot device sucks. Don't get me wrong still adore this series, this is just a me thing.
4 unneeded deaths out of 5 sweet cut scenes of the family reuniting in the afterlife
NO! Hasn't Yuri suffered enough? Not too much to say for this volume, except that it's just a tragedy. Tragedies all around, from the miscarriage to the shipwrecked voyage, all the way back to Kail's sickness and Egyptian ambush. Oh, and just in case Kail's heart is still intact, let's toss another familial death onto the funeral pyre. Damn.

Terminado el manga. A ver, la historia está bastante bien, ella me cae bien.. peeeeero... aunque ella es fuerte, lucha y no se deja mangonear... me spjode mucho que en en todo el manga hayan intentado abusar de ella como 10 veces? Y eh? Aqui no pasa absolutamente nada.
Fin qua tutto bene.
Sigh!
:shakes fist: Gods damn you Shinohara! I've mentioned before that time is a wonky thing in this series, since NO ONE seems to be getting older looking (the plague of all manga characters) and thus really you can only tell time by how desperate Kail is to get Yuri to Hattusa to send her home.
Normally not that big a deal. Sadly in this instance it was kind of off setting because one minute Yuri is all 'lalalala pregnant!' and the next she's sick and Kail is sick and Ramses is feeling bad for them both (though not enough to give Yuri up) and then Ramses sister Nefert shows up and omg Egyptian woman don't cover their chests!
There was a brief return of Zannizanni and Ursula, as well as tears on my part. It was hard. It didn't seem fair. But these things never are fair are they?
Overall Rating: 2..../10 I re-read from teenager to grown up. Not the best idea...
This may be my third re-read of this series. I am pretty sure I read it twice in the first two years of it's release. I was young, I loved it. It was romantic. But after reading it this year (maybe +15 years later....), I was wrong. I just saw wrong turns, within wrong turns. Maybe as an adult, you see things differently.
If you,ve read a manga or book during your early years and end up reading them much later in life, you may end up like me- loving a series in the past and ruining it as the adult in you laughs for once enjoying them... :(
Do I recommend this: Unless you are under the age of 20 honestly...
