Scientifically focusses on a complex living molecule called “Melanin” and goes on to discuss its impact on health, society, biological imperatives education, politics and peace .
Melanin is latin for “black substance”. Study of Melanin is the key to understanding life on planet Earth. “Chemistry” comes from the word “Kemit” . “Kemit” means black. (“Kemit” means ancient Egypt) . Originally study of Melanin was central to studying what is now known as Chemistry. By deduction Biology is the study of how melanin communicates to create&sustain life.Melanin facilitates bonding & clustering information at every level because in connects dots and makes patterns visible; leading to cross referencing information chemically , intellectually and socially (community building ).
Definitely thought provoking read due to its inter-contextual references and scientific backing . The book contains facts that are rarely stated. Higher Melanin content makes for certain attributes biologically, physiologically, cognitively etc. The higher Melanin content in a human being higher is the natural content of vitamins &minerals in the body. This makes for differences in people with varying amounts of Melanin-

1. Which is the normal range for chemicals in the blood are different for different races. For example :- Diabetes will not show up in the blood report in the same reading for all races.
2. The speed of child development varies as per Melanin content, therefore expectation from a child should be different , as the growth of nerves controlling the bladder for example is much faster.
3. Biochemically there is a difference in the milk produced by a mother based on Melanin content in her body. Baby food too should reflect this difference for babies with various amount of Melanin.
4. Higher Melanin in a body indicates that person is absorbing a broader spectrum of frequencies . This indicates richer experience of colors and tastes.
5. Higher Melanin in a body indicates that person is absorbing more Ultra Violet rays of the sun ( from the TV monitor & computer) ,retaining more and is able to make the bones stronger due to Vitamins D.
6. More Melanin in the body indicates better regulation of the the body temperature. And therefore protects the skin from aging .
7. Epinephrine, also known as adrenalin is a form of Melanin but acts both as a hormone and a neurotransmitter .Epinephrine is critical to flight or fight response and therefore higher Melanin content indicates a better mechanism to survive.
8. Higher the Melanin in the body the better the body’s ability for rhythm & motion related to dance and music

The author claims that ,Living sciences without focus on study of Melanin is merely social sciences . Every living thing has melanin.
Dr.Laila the author , attacks long held assumptions using real scientific facts , not fake science .
Anybody that considers themselves neutral to the racism drama should find themselves intrigued by this book because it pertains to life on planet Earth.
There are two different kinds of Melanin , which cannot be a part of the same ancestral tree. This difference determines race. Darker skinned people have Selenium in their Melanin.
Theory of evolution, theory of speed of light & theory of gravity are once again brought into focus as merely theories with no scientific backing .

Melanin is a bio chemical key to life , it causes conversion reactions
-metabolism of carbohydrates efficiently. The following are a few derivatives (or particles) of Melanin (conversion clockwise and counter clock wise.)
* Tryptophan
* Serotonin (Prozac inhibits the brain from absorbing Seratonin)
* Epinephrine

Melanin is a polymer of undetermined size & high molecular weight - it has many facets and attributes.

Melanin is found in 3 forms :-
* gaseous Melanin ,
* crystalline Melanin
* liquid Melanin.
Melanin is the only chemical that can bi locate .

Melanin lays the blueprint for the design of the growth of bones, eyes, organs, blood vessels….
Melanin has memory that cannon be destroyed, thats why amputees experience phantom pain . Melanin protein complexes may also be understood as organic Computer chips” that store, translate & transmits information.

Pineal gland is Pine cone shaped gland, 2mg in weight, has an inch is size (as big as a grain of wheat) , reddish in color. it is is attached to and situated over the the 3rd ventricle of the brain . It is composed in part of nerve retina, it has an actual crystalline lens , as well as Rods&Cones cells . In the eastern culture Pineal glad is called “Third Eye”, most highly revered gland (sixth chakra). In the eastern the Vedic scriptures (“Ved” inTamil means “science”) written in Tamil language ( Sanskrit is merely a later translation , that was tampered with ) originally Pineal Gland is described in depth , thousands of years back. Contemporary Pineal gland calcifies ( age 13-14 years ) ,shrinks and stops working at age 20 , due to life style pollutants in the human system .
Benjamin Banneker’s work on Melanin is worth looking in to , for English speakers .

Melanin is produced by Pineal gland located in the geometric centre of the brain . Melanin is then converted to various hormones such as
1. Serotonin (is important to experience joy and achieve higher consciousness)
2. Melatonin which is involved in circadian rhythm
3. Melanin synchronizes (clocks synch and rhythmicity) the various organ functions to avoid conflicts .
4. Helps humans dream at night.
5. Melanin signals the onset of sex (M/F/etc) in the fetus and puberty in a child.

The following substances are harmful to Melanin:
* Alcohol
* Codine
* Nicotine
* Caffeine

Some substances that are promote Melanin (Tryptophan):-
* Pumpkin seeds
* Watermelon seeds
* Raw Peanuts
* Brewers Yeast
* Almonds
* Dandelion greens
* Spirulina Seaweed

Effectiveness of pharmaceuticals on the market is measured by inhibiting, speeding , slowing or promoting Melanin .
Age of the human brain is measured by how well the brain absorbs Melanin . The age of Egyptian Mummies is determined through the carbon dating the Melanin in the brain .

Melanin Reticular formation and Melanin:-
- People with higher Melanin content have 12 spots for Melanin Reticular formation ( 12 is an important number , notice it in the environment- 12 zodiac signs, 12 months, 12 steps in AA, Rites of passage at age 12 , 12 steps of Jacob’s ladder) , on the top of the spinal cord through which all neurons (information) pass .
- As opposed to only 4 spots for people with lower Melanin content.
- This implies a broader range of (12)emotions . Without this range one is emotionally crippled.

Thought it would be a quick read, but the content is very scientific. Probably helpful to have dictionary handy. Towards end of book there's diagrams and side by side comparisons. I'm really in awe of this book, and the subject of Melanin. Have a few questions for author, hopefully he will respond. I would've given the book 5 stars but I would've liked to see more scientific information explained in layman's terms. Overall all African Americans should read this book. Period.

It was a very short read but I kept getting distracted. It can easily be read in one sitting. I’m not much of a science person but this was very informative! The scientific jargon made it difficult to read at times but it still kept me interested. I thought Llaila Afrika did a great job explaining what melanin is and comparing the genetic features between those of African and European descent. Not too shabby as I learned a lot!

I enjoyed this small gem. Very easy to follow. It can get repetitive but I believe that was intentional in order to introduce facts to the beginner reader. The Science did not get me lost and I felt it was a great overall introduction to Melanin.

It is a pamphlet an should be marketed as such.

OK, I was quite disappointed. There is so many that could benefit from this information. Yet presenting it in such a garbled fashion sucked validity clean out of very significant subject matter. Repair this mishap immediately.

PEACE.

This book is great. It’s not the type of book where you’re reading or following a plot of some sort. I would classify this as study text. Nevertheless, i learned a great deal of information as well as reinforce information i may have forgotten prior!

It always perplexed me as to why with all the learning of sciences, not once ever has melanin been discussed or a part of my curriculum growing up in school. This book makes it clear to me why that is. Melanin is our sixth sense and unfortunately the ones running the school systems and creating the curriculums lack it.

I've learned a great deal from this very light and short read. I've already begun to apply the things I've learned from it regarding how i fuel myself in regards to nutrition and the importance of sleep/rest.
One must certainly know one’s self and to embrace self or else they are doomed to have themselves and who they are dictated to them ending in “mental slavery”. This book is essential for any melanated individual to cover/study.

A Good Read

A good read. Important information mentioned throughout this literature. However, (from a literary point) the author failed to convey the application of the information being offered or back them with sound knowledge from likewise literature or peers within the field.

Let not that be a cause to pause from reading. Dr. Llaila Afrika is a well known herbalistic and wholistic health elder that have earned his place amongst the ranks of Giants. In short, the author is a trusted source. But this work does not possess the literary or (modern) scientific fortitude to truly cut through the melieu.

All in all, this book is still worth reading, as a serves as a revolutionary African health guide. It also serves as the base for a writer or researcher more scholastic to delve deeper.

Incredible work of course by our elder.

Me.Afrika does a phenomenal job explaining the difference between black people and everyone else. It's very empowering very informative read that must be passed on to your future children and grandchildren so they know the importance of who they are, why they were created, why we think differently, how/why we create differently, what happened to us and and most importantly why we are not the same as every so-called scholar loves to keep lying and saying we are.

Excellent

I gave this the top rating as it is a mind opener for those of us who are proud Africans, and gives the reasons why we in the Motherland and the Diaspora should stay away from caucasoids. We are the opposite of each other and NEVER shall the trains meet.

A concise straight to the point info on Melanin and its functions within our Black Human (HUE-Man). This book has valuable information on how to go about taking care of it and understanding the basics of Melanin. A needed reference. You'll probably need to research some of the medical terms used, or a dictionary. The book is great but I felt it could've elaborated a bit more. It's a great basic book for those who want to understand the chemical key to all life.
