"I was never one to go looking for trouble. But trouble always found me..."
With nowhere to go and nobody left to turn to, Ariel Everhart is forced into a new way of life as a waitress at a local bar in the city. The city slums are no place for a young girl. A string of macabre murders has the city on edge. Ariel can't walk the streets without the threat of potential violence.
One night, she meets a mysterious man named Vaughn. Ariel is intrigued by the handsome blonde man, his blue eyes having an inexplicable hypnotizing effect on her. But as things progress between the two of them, Vaughn seems reluctant to act upon his feelings for a reason Ariel can't figure out. Later on, Ariel meets police detective Irvine Gold. Irvine is investigating the murders and seems curious about Ariel. Wondering why she's been singled out, Ariel learns that she may be in danger and the murders in the city may have more to do with her than she realizes. Ariel's instincts begin to tell her that Vaughn may be someone else besides who he says he is.
"Evil Allure" is a paranormal romantic thriller about a young woman who learns that the truth can be more unbelievable than she could possibly imagine.
This steamy werewolf romance contains some strong language that may offend some readers.
I'm an author specializing in steamy, contemporary romance novels intended for mature readers. Ariel comes to the big city to get away from family issues and there she meets Vaughn who is a werewolf, and although there is sexual attraction he doesn't seem to want to get involved in a physical relationship.
Then there are all the murders happening around the city, and the strange man who is investigating these murders. It's an okay read, something to pass the day along.
It ends on a slight cliffhanger, in that although the story is resolved, the bigger meaning behind the murders will continue in book 2. Which I'm looking forward to reading sometime in the future.
This was another unexpected read, it had been on my kindle for a while but I needed to read books beginning with ‘E’ for a reading challenge I’m doing. It had a really good storyline and characters that are interesting to read about, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and will look out for more books in this series or by this author.
The main character is Ariel, a girl with little choice but to work as a waitress in a local bar, she knows she should be doing more than this but finding herself in a slump seems stuck in the situation. With a number of murders she is fairly scared and when a new guy comes into the bar she is instantly attracted to him but still wary of the threat. She gets dragged into a world that she didn’t know existed where werewolves are real and they want her to be their queen. Ariel is a relaxed character who doesn’t really realise what’s going on until it’s all too late.
There are a lot of secondary characters in this book but the one I found to be most noteworthy is Vaughn, he’s the new guy that comes into the bar and is instantly attracted to Ariel, it is something to do with her aura being pure. He also has secrets of his own including that he is not only a werewolf but part of a secret society of werewolves.
The storyline is original and well written, and the pacing was good although there was a lot left till the last few chapters and it seemed slightly rushed towards the end.
2 what the hell did I just read stars! 1 for the cover and one for the fact that I did finish the book.
I picked this book in random. the title and blurb looks interesting... but omg, I will definitely need to read a real good paranormal book after this one...
It started off quite mysterious...then boring..... just quite disturbing, mind boggling (not in a good way) story... I'm just amazed I finished it. but that is 3 days after in between good reads. And I'm guessing this is a start of a series? I'm definitely not reading if it is.
I'm sorry, but this book is not for me. Don't like the characters and hate the story... won't say more....
This was a thrilling story that keeps you wondering what will happen on the next page or in the next chapter.... But that ending leaves you craving for a part 2 to understand who that was and what his motive was and Why all the "Mess"?
