An English translation by Munagala Venkataramiah of this ancient Sanskrit work on Advaita philosophy. The Maharshi considered this to be one of the greatest works expounding the traditional teachings of Advaita and often quoted the verses which are full of divine nectar. This work will quench the thirst of any earnest seeker who repeatedly reflects on its meaning and attempts to apply the teaching.306pp

Truly is is a well of Highest Wisdom. Simply must-read for anyone who is serious about finding the Truth.
As complex piece of a philosophy as can be. After reading the whole book I cannot say that I understood the contents. The understanding is in parts and rest are esoteric. It will take time and multiple reading to understand major portions of the book.
Not for everyone. Needs a mind that's not full to grasp it. Our own conditioning, prejudice, likes and dislikes, won't at times allow us to accept what's been discussed here, but doing a bit of introspection one can give it the benefit of the doubt that this might actually be the reality. If you've seen Matrix movies you know what I mean. Reading between the lines is required, cos many stories are just metaphors, which just read as is, might be interesting read but not mind blowing/opening. I had to refer to many other sources and youtube videos to get an idea of what's being discussed. A truly fascinating read, but as I said not for everyone :)
this rating applies to this particular edition, the one pictured with the record (subtitle "the mystery beyond the trinity", ramanananda saraswathi trans) and not the contents within, which are beyond rating. translation, notes and appendices are adequate, but perhaps could be expanded given the extremely dense and metaphysical nature of the text. this version is a good enough working edition to get a handle around the concepts, but i would like to try the other translation at some point to see how they compare and which i prefer
