Cover: ★★★.5 (Goldie definitely has nice hair, similar to Abigail. Her outfit, though simple, seems pretty regal thanks to the crown.)
Story: ★★★
Overall Rating: ★★★
Ghostwriter: Sue Mongredien
Most Memorable Part(s): Just the overall sense of how HOT it is. And also, thinking how a feather that controls the sun is technically pretty strong, considering that all life on earth only exists because of the sun, and all that.

Review:
This is a pretty simple and innocent story, with the girls trying to get back the sunshine feather along with Goldie, the sunshine fairy. Out of all the weather thus far, this is the weather that is the least suspect, as summer's supposed to be hot and full of...well sunlight.

But anyway, all in all, pretty simple, and though I liked the barnyard setting, not much really happens and there's not much excitement plot-wise. Again, by having there be only one goblin adversary at a time, though the goblins are larger in size, one wonders at how threatening they are. In this case, the girls weren't in any danger at all, and they outwitted the goblin pretty easily, so it was a story slightly on the weaker end among the Weather Fairies series.

While these books are formulaic, kids seem to love them, and they are all subtly different and they aren't too much of a chore to read aloud.

The book Goldie The Sunshine fairy is about two girls and one fairy They use magical feathers to bring all of the weather to Fairyland. But when the feathers disappear, the weather turns wacky. The Weather Fairies must fix it fast! Goldie the Sunshine Fairy's magic feather has disappeared. Now Wetherbury is so hot and sunny that the cornfields are turning into popcorn. I did not really like this book because I do not really like fairies. I would recommend this book to people that like fairies and to younger grades.

Rachel and Kristy really need to get past their fear of the goblins. I understand the goblins are larger than they were in the first series — but they are still smaller than people, have no weapons, are not very smart, and are pretty slow. Therefore, I feel even a child could easily take the goblins, especially if there is only one goblin. I also don’t understand why the water didn’t get hot around the sunshine feather. Like if the feather was making the environment so hot that it made a field of corn turn into popcorn than it should have made the lake and the mud puddle boiling as well.

This is the fourth book of seven in the "Weather Fairies" series by the group of authors who go by the name Daisy Meadows. It's a fun series, especially for young girls who are starting to read chapter books. Our oldest is addicted and I am encouraging it since I am confident that these books will help her develop a love for reading! She reads them on her own and will sometimes read aloud to me. I have been reading them along with her (at first I was irritated by them, but now they amuse me and they only take about 5 minutes to read). We will discuss the plots, her favorite parts and what we think will happen later in the series.

This is my favorite book of the Weather Fairy series. I loved it when Kristy and Rachel looked over the hedge at Kristy's house and the corn turned to pop corn and was popping because it was so hot. The rooster says, "will come"

My favorite character is Goldie (the sunshine fairy).
It's about Kristy and Rachel and goblins and Goldie the fairy, they were loking for the sunshine feather and they found the goblins sitting in a mud pool.
This is the bets weather fairy book yet, and i like the rainbow fairies too.

Great one to point to advanced readers to read through the seasons we are currently experiencing. They can then build on connections on the type of temperature and activities they do for that type of weather.

Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic.
Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.
On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon!
If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!

The part where everything gets hot is mildly engaging but only lasts a few pages. The rest of the time is a solidly dull march through what feels like the duty of the author to remind us which characters are involved in this series and who wants what. Also: what's with the line drawings that litter this whole thing?? Life is too wonderful and short to have useless and clumsy illustrations in our midst.

Even if I was 8 years old or 10 or 12 I really don't think this would ignite my soul or even a tiny part of it.
Why. Why do you exist, book.

Found at the Little Library near my house; library discard.

Second set in the fairy books. This is in the following school holidays. Rachel comes to stay with Kirsty in the village of Wetherbury. Jack Frost's goblins have stolen the tail weathers from Fairyland's weather-vane rooster and making weather chaos in Fairyland and the village. Super hot and sunny weather makes the plants droop until they head to the farm to outwit the nasty goblin.

Miss 4 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

This was a good book to read with my six-year-old. She is going into first grade this coming school year and did well with it. There were few spots she had trouble with. The plot was challenging enough to make her have to think about what was happening when I asked her questions but not too difficult for her that she got lost. We both enjoyed reading this together. She has decided she wants to read all of the Weather Fairies series after reading this book.

Although a hit with the kids, this series annoys me :( Each book uses the same tropes, even the two girls featured are the same. The goblin. Jack Frost. Eh.
There was absolutely no need for K+R to turn small fairies to be able to work the fishing rod, right?
After "Bernie Works a Miracle" this is a drag.

Super fun!

I was wondering what they’d do with sunshine, and we have a time shift! Most of these adventures have been set during the day, but this one is set in the evening (around 7pm). Interesting slight change.

Read a bunch as a kid.

I enjoyed this one more than the book before it, though I didn’t like the pigs talking to the girls. In all previous books the animals didn’t speak to the girls without magic
