Frustrations rising.

Sure the events in this volume were kind of inevitable, but really?! How two people can be simultaneously so incredibly dense is beyond me. I like that this relationship isn't all smooth sailing, especially when their personalities interfere with their ability to communicate, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy it either. I just want to be in between the two of them and translate what the other is saying so this whole miscommunication can be resolved. Needless to say I am incredibly excited to read the next volume, but am becoming rather wary of how long this courtship is going to be drawn out.

Something else worth noting is I really enjoyed how all the secondary characters are reacting to this new development. I also sort of like the new guy despite the dilemma he's caused and the fact that I can't seem to remember his name...

Just last volume I had been commenting on how quickly the weeks were passing -- and now we have an installment that seems to take place all in one, or maybe two subsequent, school days, as our protagonists confusedly attempt to communicate their feelings for one another and are led into misunderstandings by the interference of their peers.

All I can say is…FINALLYYYYYY!!!

Ahh this was a hard volume to read because of "the wall" that is up and just sooooo many other things, but extremely well done to the mangaka for creating a real romance from high school so richly.

And awkwardly. LOL!

As much as I don't like the angst and the drama, I am once again amazed at how this really IS a genuine high school romance, packed with misunderstandings, awkwardness, and tears.

Also, Kumuri showed up and I didn't absolutely loathe her so personal progress for me?!

Ooo another thing, I am very proud of Kento! I expected his character arc to be very different, but he surprised me in his humbleness. I'm excited to see how he shows up in the series because he's a sweet guy and think I want to give him a second chance without assuming he's just going to destroy my ship and manically laugh. LOL!

But that ending…

GAH, THAT ENDING!!

I. Am. Cheering.

Last thing, I loved how Chizu was frank with Sawako. <3

There's only so much of misunderstandings that a person can take, but when someone is so dense as to misinterpret things even when they're being directly told the way things are, that takes the cake for me.

The emotional drama of this volume is high and makes for a super-fast read. It brings the misunderstandings of before to a climax, but even I think that it's a bit overdone with somehow misunderstanding a direct confession.

However, on the other hand, maybe something this dramatic is necessary for things to progress forward to the romantic-relationship level. I'm not sure. In any case, the author does a good job of making the readers root for Kazehaya and Sawako, if only to get them together when it's so obvious they should be and yet for some reason aren't. Gah, it hits all the right points of frustration and creates a dedicated fanbase.

3.5/5 I rounded this one up instead of down because the last couple chapters are great.

I love these characters so it pains me to see them act so incredibly idiotic. The misunderstanding between Sawako and Shota which is the main plot point for this volume is so ridiculous it borders on unbelievable. Coming through it though there are a few stand out moments, my favorite being Chizu and Kurumi essentially telling Sawako she’s a freaking idiot. Albeit in much nicer terms.

The last 2 volumes also had many shorter chapters which I didn’t care for as much but it wasn’t that big of a deal.

Shota and Sawako on the cover again this time. Though most of the covers feature them.

So intensely frustrating!!!

This literally all was tension and filler. Sawako isn’t talking and isn’t communicating but finally FINALLY she’s figuring out things. It just took the entire book for her to realize it.

I feel so bad for Kazehaya. His confession went south. You can tell he’s hurting a lot.

Misunderstandings are everywhere.....

It saved itself a bit towards the end, but this was an exemplary concoction of all the things I despise in mangas. There was no reason for so many misunderstandings to exist besides the need to stretch the story and keep the reader waiting.
There could have been many other ways to have Sawako face how her lack of self esteem hurts her and the ones next to her without creating these unrealistic and angsty situations.
This is what makes me lose interest in the story..

This volume was all about a misunderstanding and about Sawako's pals trying to help her. It was really agonizing to get through, haha. The mangaka has no empathy for us! But hopefully this is the last misunderstanding in the series.

The story centers on Sawako and Hazehaya, high school students who start to like each other but one is dense and the other too friendly that causes major, MAJOR CONFUSION!!!

And now to read until they finally stop going in circles. Ugh
