The book has a lot of cute patterns. They're the sort of stuff that everyone makes on etsy. It was okay as a library book, but I would have been disappointed if I had bought it. It isn't a beginner book, because it does not do much instruction. However, people with more experience could come up with a good number of the patterns themselves. It would mostly interest people without too much experience that want to make the stuff they see for sale on etsy.
I checked this book from my library and thankful I did not pay for it. Tremendous amount of advertising different websites for yarn and embellishments for projects. It is very basic also. I was a crochet beginner at one time but I was looking for something more advanced. This shows rings, necklace and bracelets. Pictures are at random.
I chose the patterns that I will be making. I love the international flavor of this book. I don't know all of the artists but have a great love for them. I thank you for being able to travel around the country with you through this book.
More than half the website links are invalid. Projects are simplistic and not very attractive. Written instructions only (no diagrams) with few photos of the actual projects. Photos are mostly of the crafters being profiled.
I was surprised to find this book to be an introduction to a few ladies and advertised online information. Not what I was looking for, but like many others here I'm glad this was a library book.
I had high hopes but... they were dashed. There are too many "jewelry" "patterns and not one thing that i would wear/ use. Pretty boring book with boring patterns.
Contains some unique patterns, necklaces, fingerless gloves and ornamental objects. Even a bathmat made of old t-shirts! Definitely not a book for a beginner, there is no explanation of the stitches. But great for anyone that needs a fairly small project!
Interesting format, gorgeous photos, but I wasn't really inspired to try on any of these projects. I did, however, appreciate the resource list of crochet/craftwork blogs and websites.
I love crochet, but the patterns in this book were very strange. Lots of jewelry, which isn't really my thing when I crochet. If you like jewelry, though, you'll like this book!
