Amber Kell has made a career out of daydreaming. It has been a lifelong habit she practices diligently as shown by her complete lack of focus on anything not related to her fantasy world building.

When she told her husband what she wanted to do with her life he told her to go have fun.

During those seconds she isn't writing she remembers she has children who humor her with games of 'what if' and let her drag them to foreign lands to gather inspiration. Her youngest confided in her that he wants to write because he longs for a website and an author name—two things apparently necessary to be a proper writer.

Despite her husband's insistence she doesn't drink enough to be a true literary genius she continues to spin stories of people falling happily in love and staying that way.

She is thwarted during the day by a traffic jam of cats on the stairway and a puppy who insists on walks, but she bravely perseveres..

She also writes under the name Mikela Q. Chase

This is quite possibly the most thickly plotted installment in the series... and without the presence of main alpha pairing to steal the spotlight from anybody! In fact, Silver and Anthony have disappeared from the picture temporarily as they go on a rescue mission to the Dark Fae realm. So, out with the alpha wolf and alpha demi-god/fae... and in with the VAMPIRES ONCE MORE.

Make way, make way for Charming Vampire No. 2, Mikel. If Alessandro is Edward Cullen's more kick-ass, less glittery yet more dazzling counterpart, then Mikel is the one who puts the likes of Cullen sidekicks Jasper and Emmett to their sparkly shame. And what gives Mikel a better edge than Alessandero is that his mate? Is a furry one!

And here I thought Dare and Steven are already the poster boys for "Opposites Attract". In supernatural fantasy lore, vampires and werewolves usually don't get along. But trust Amber Kell to put an undead and a were together in Holy Mateymoney! Exciting!

(I imagine this is what would happen if The Southern Vampire Series' Bill Compton started dating Sam Merlotte or Alcide Hervaux. Or something like that.)

I loved Mikel's first encounter with Inno Weston. Nothing is more swoon-worthy than being saved by your eventual mate from murderous mutants during your first meeting with each other and for this reason I find it appropriate that Inno quickly recognized Mikel as his mate. Also, it seems that vampires are not as ridiculous in their notions of possessiveness for their mates as shifters do, because Mikel offered Inno a chance to develop his own friendships and have a job although he wants nothing more than to keep Inno for himself. They really make a convincingly adorable unit and I hope there would be more vampire-shifter unions in future installments.

Speaking of opposites attract, Dare and Steven make another important appearance here. Dare's still in a world of hurt and trouble but he's really come out as a strong character (whom I'm absolutely in love with for his strength and determination) and Steven establishes his adoration of Dare further. In other words, they are still my favorite pairing and they are still wonderful.

Thomas, too, finally returns after 7 books of practically being sidelined. His appearances are brief and his role was not exactly vital in the plot development, but I welcome him nonetheless. It's too bad that we don't get to see Thomas and Dillon working together although they're mentioned together in passing (so if the author is reading this, can I just beg for a scene where they kick some mutant ass together? Pretty please?)

The one that steals the spotlight is the Good Samarimutant (I do apologize for coming up with these silly terms; it's past midnight and I've had a long stressful day at work so my brain is probably fried) named Blake. I wonder what fate he will meet and what mate he will get. At least, I hope he'll get a chance at mating with one of the Moon pack members... or, hey, how about another vampire?

Also: super!baby makes another cameo and he combines his adorableness with Mikel's vamp charm. The result? Awww-some.

Now excuse me while I slink into a corner and re-read Installments 1 to 9 and impatiently wait for the next one.

I do love reading her books but I guess after reading so many of them, they are becoming quite a bit blurry. I mean the set up seems to always be the same.

Good idea, I haven't come across any book yet where the idea behind the actual story was very inventive, but instead of actually having a plot, you only get two guys pining after each other like animnals.

I mean I love instant attraction like next one but in these cases it is as if they have no control and all they can think about sex...so the plot goes out the window or becomes a sub plot next to the sex and the pining.

Guess after reading and enjoing so many of the books, I might have to stop now if it is the same formula over and over again...oh well...

Otherwise, this book was fine. :) Excellent writing as always.

This is quite possibly the most thickly plotted series. I loved all the other books in the series and am eagerly looking forward to reading the next book to find out what happens. Be warned that this is a very addictive M/M series. Inno is nearly killed by the mutants while escaping the mad scientist. Blake helped him leave with a sample to take to Moon Pack. Laying in an alley dying he is saved by Mikel a vampire. The vampire is very protective of his new wolf. He heals him and agrees to take him to Moon Pack but he won't let him go completely. They are mates after all. Now he just has to convince Inno and help him heal from his nightmare.

I thought this a good installment of the Moon Pack series. It would have to agree with one reviewer who said that the over-arcing plot was more interesting than what went on with the MCs. Overall though, I enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

I have loved this series since the beginning but getting tired of all the cliffhangers. Getting to be too many things left unfinished, it's like one step forward then 2 steps back.

I enjoyed this one. I still would have liked it to be longer and more fleshed out but the story itself kept me entertained.
I loved Inno and his pragmatic outlook. He understood his sister had the best intentions but still would not go back or forgive her the betrayal.
I liked Mikal, but would have liked him to be the one to take care of the one that betrayed him.
I’d like to see more from this couple.

Inflaming Inno
By Amber Kell

I only reread this to get a refresher before reading Marking Mikel.

I really liked both Inno and Mikel. They're great together. However the overall story arc was frustrating beyond belief. There were to many storylines going on at once and for a book that was supposed to be about Inno and Mikel there wasn’t enough about them and their story wasn’t even finished. They didn’t fully bond. Nothing was settled in their life together. They basically got as far as knowing they are mates and Mikel marking Inno, but Inno didn't mark Mikel. Why say a book is about two specific characters and their life together if you're not going to finish the story?

I already jumped ahead a few books and purchased the book that is also supposed to be about Mikel and Inno in the hopes their story will finish, but the first chapter starts off about another couple, Silver and Anthony.

The only book of those so far that I've read that I really liked was the first one. This series is not like other books by this author that I've read. Her other ones are about one couple and finish with a HEA. They're not part of a 17 book series that has multiple storylines going on at all times and actually has very little going on about the couple the book is supposed to be about. If I purchase a book it's because I like what the premise sounds like for the couple in it. Not to read about other couples at the same time. 😕 Truly disappointing.

The book is in both of their POV.

I really enjoyed the mating between Mikel and Inno. However, I was still feeling very sad where Dare and his blindness was concerned. I'm truly hoping that this author will not continue to maim her main characters. It totally takes the fun out of reading the story for me, but that's just me. Otherwise, this was nicely written and very imaginative with quite an abrupt ending.

Inno is out to get his life back with a job with Henry

But the driver that he does not trust is out to get him. When he is wolfnapped by Jans, to be returned to Dr. Korl as a quality candidate for the formula, Inno must escape again. Fortunately Blake is still helping the wolves avoid the doctor and mutants.

Getting really good!

Mikell and Inno's story has the back story getting really hot! While the mating story, meeting and escape is awesome, I can't wait to see what Anthony and Silver have going on!

In this volume, the over arc is more interesting than the mating couple. Still good, though. Mikel is definitely a different type of vamp.

I wish the books in this series has been longer because the ideas are great but not developed. If this series was about the relationship of Anthony and Silver in the background the pack members beginning to find his mate it's would be much better but even this can't be put in this number of pages.

2015 Re-read:

Not the most comfortable of backdrops, with our tiger being blind and Important People missing. On the other hand this series is gaining momentum. I’m not sure how I feel about that. I liked the silly-happy side of things, liked the easy and quick solutions.

Anyway, I believe this is the last one I’d already read before. Interestingly, it seems that some of the future volumes will revisit couples who already had their turn. As the main plot, I mean. I can’t say I am looking forward to dealing with Farro again, but it’s true that his and Kylen’s story lacked conclusion. Strangely, the protagonists of this book also appear to get another turn. It makes me ever so slightly nervous. Then again, that’s my current mood.

I liked Inno; not that there was anything special about him. Mikel was okay, except for that tendency to completely bypass his lover’s choices, albeit only while planning their sexual future. Then again, this is a bit of a theme for the series, and maybe even the author as such: People are very focused on what they want and less on other people. Realistic, you might say. It’s not always nice, but can add focus and drive.

2012 Review:

Yep, yep. This was a nice book, so the standards have definitely risen to what I am used to from this author these days. On the downside, the plot completely continues, so this effectively ends on a cliff-hanger for several couples.

Still, it’s nice to read. Overlooking random crap like how characters’ names change willy-nilly is worth it.

It's one of the "better" for me personally of this series. Probably because

(1) It doesn't involve werekins coupling, instead there is Inno, the shifter, and Mikel, the vampire -- and here Mikel actually is willing to give Inno time to get used to him, even if Inno's wolf recognizes the vampire as his mate

(2) No Anthony and Silver -- surprising as it may be, since I like the super demi-god and his Alpha sidekick (Steven's words, not mine), when they are around, they can takeover the whole story instead of the actual couple. So, it's nice that there's a break from them. Instead we have

(3) Steven and Dare as the "secondary" couple presented. I always love them, and in here, both are still dealing with the aftermath of book #8

With (sort of) cliff-hanger of this book, considering what Dare sees in his dreamlike vision, I think Anthony and Silver will again be notably present in next book ....

I'm starting to worry there won't be enough letters in the alphabet for the story to get nicely wrapped up. But since there's still a way to go I'm hopeful the overall story arc will be picking up speed and show some forward progress.
Aside form that the book was ok, and it was a good mix of new (Inno, Mikel, Jager) and old (mainly Dare and Steven) characters. But I'm not sure how I feel about Dare and Steven going after Anthony and Silver. I just can't see what they can do to help. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Also, I was a bit confused with Mikel's healing abilities. Admittedly there wasn't much vamp content so fat but I don't remember reading that before.

Well, so far each short story seems to be more like a chapter of Anthony & Silver's story; all really quick reads & the angst of the books usually seem forced. I think it would actually be better if read all at once, instead of like a serial with each chapter coming out every few months. However, the main plot is interesting, so I keep following it.
Omg! What happened w/Anthony & Silver?!?!?! And why us a woman a bad guy AGAIN? Just because they're gay doesn't mean all of womankind is going to try to eradicate them...

I have read the entire series in the last week and a half, and while I have ejoyed it, I do have two issues. (1) Each story is too short. I want to read more about their relationship, other than ooh look my mate, don't want him, have sex now I want him. (2) All but three women mentioned in this series are either crazycakes or outright bitches, and not in the animal sense. I feel like what women there are in the series are bashed, why not declare the pack gay and call it a day? So far there has only been one female wolf and she betrayed them. The human women weren't any better.

Love these books - great novellas ~ sexy, entertaining and fun!

It appears there will eventually be A-Z and there is plenty of room for it to go even beyond that. It is very entertaining with interesting characters and unique twists in each story. They do need to be read in order - each group of MC's have their own story but there is an overlaying back story that grows throughout each book.

I know it was intended to be a short story... but unlike so many of the other works of this author, I felt the ending was left undone. It read like she ran out of time or is making way for the next book in this series. I was sadly disappointed because this author writes so much great stuff!
