Suddenly Sam
The October Trilogy, Book Three

Samhain is running out of time. When the clock strikes midnight on Halloween, the door to his realm will close forever, and any precious hope he possessed of winning the heart of the woman he would choose as queen will vanish along with October. A desperate lack of time calls for desperate measures, and Sam finds himself pushing boundaries and breaking rules to claim the heart he loves. But there is more at stake here than even the Death God realized, and as the long hand climes toward October’s final moments, what is truly to be gained and truly to be lost becomes all too terrifyingly clear.

Logan Wright’s world spins out of control as she is dragged unwillingly into the realm bordering Samhain’s kingdom. But what begins as a struggle to free herself from Sam’s clutches and leave the new yet achingly familiar land she has entered becomes a journey of dawning understanding and self discovery – as October Land, in all of its amber-hued splendor and Autumn magic not only captures her body and soul, but the very heart she is trying so desperately to protect.

Somewhere between the mortal realm and the Realm of the Dead, in the fantastical world of apple orchards and pumpkin patches, cinnamon spice, and midnight masquerades, ten friends quest for power, freedom, and salvation – and one must make the ultimate choice. And the ultimate sacrifice.

Suddenly Sam is the anxiously awaited third and final heart-pounding novel in the award winning young adult paranormal romance trilogy The Third Kiss, by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Heather Killough-Walden.

Suddenly Sam is book 3 in a trilogy, so if you haven’t read Sam I Am and Secretly Sam please read those first. Suddenly Sam begins right where Secretly Sam ends, with the entry into October Land. October Land contains everything that comes to mind when you think about Halloween and autumn. Graveyards, jack-o-lanterns, fall leaves, vampires, goblins, and wizards are just a few of the things you experience while reading this book. The author did an excellent job creating this imaginary world. I felt like I was there along with all the characters. And I fell for all those characters, especially Sam. I know he’s the villain, but there is just something about him that appealed to me. All he wants is to claim his Queen so he has someone to love for eternity. Who can blame him? Without giving away anything, all I’ll say is that I think this book was the perfect ending to The October Trilogy.

"Suddenly Sam", the 3rd book of The October Trilogy by Heather Killough-Walden. I waited for a WHOLE YEAR for this book and OMG!!! it was worth it!! What can I say? This wonderful author has demonstrated over and over again her spectacular and unique way for storytelling. "Suddenly Sam" Like "Sam I Am" (book 1) and " Secretly Sam" (book 2), is beautifully written, full of suspense, romance, friendship, action, great facts of history, powerful women, hot guys, beautiful scenery, and a masterpieces plot. And that ending, goodness, not in my wildest dream would I guess that ending, a perfect ending to a perfect series. What else can you ask for?! this is a must have series if you haven't pick it up please do ASAP everyone need some "Suddenly Sam" on their life :-) Happy readings!

I received Suddenly Sam in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I didn’t start this trilogy until last year, so I did get to pick up Secretly Sam immediately after I read Sam I Am. That was fortunate because one book leads right into the other. What wasn’t so fortunate was that Secretly Sam ended in a huge cliff hanger and I had to wait a year to pick up Suddenly Sam to see how the story ended. Yikes! If you are just discovering the October Trilogy, you’re fortunate. And since this book picks up exactly where the last one left off, I suggest you pick up all three at the same time. You can thank me later.

So, was Suddenly Sam worth the torturous wait? Absolutely! Heather’s writing is a constant. I’m just as drawn in and mesmerized by her young adult fiction as her adult PNR. Her descriptions are poetic and her world building in this series was amazing. Half way through I was wishing that I could visit October Land myself. It was as beautiful as it was scary and it fit the personality of the characters who lived there.

Speaking of characters, there was quite a variety in this trilogy. Young, old, wise, impulsive and everything in between. The supporting cast of characters played just as important a role as the main characters and the way the POV changed from chapter to chapter just reinforced that. There was so much to love about this book, but I can’t convey it in a review. It’s one of those things you have to experience it for yourself.

Mystery, magic, danger, romance and raw emotion. The October Trilogy had it all and Suddenly Sam wrapped it all up with a satisfactory end. In true Heather Killough-Walden fashion, readers were reminded that there is no such thing as pure good or pure evil and nothing is always as it seems. The story for these characters is far from over, but the rest is left to our imagination and that’s okay. We can end our time with Logan and company with a satisfied sigh – which is how all good fairy tales should end.

Heather has been one of my favorite Authors since I read the first book in the Big Bad Wolf series. "The Heat". She always takes us into a magical world and you don't want to put her books down and when they are done you want more.

Logan is a writer and she is constantly writing stories in her notebooks. Her older brother has issues and is very mean and hurts her and her younger brother. Writing is her escape. One of her friends is a witch and accidentally releases Samhain into their world and he wants Logan. Come to find out she is actually a Bard.. A very powerful Story Teller and her stories had given him life, as a vampire.

In this third book it opens where the last one left off with Dom being possessed by Sam and Logan being pulled through the portal into October Land. The rest of her friends follow to try and save her. There are many surprises and dangers for Logan and her friends in this realm. They will have to survive and Logan and Sam will both have to come to some stunning realizations.

This book was AMAZING!! But what book by Heather isn't. This was an amazing conclusion to the series and this is one of my favorites. There was a great Authors note at the end also. These little details are part of the thing that makes Heathers books so wonderful. I really was not looking forward to the series ending but Heather ended it perfectly! I definitely recommend reading this book... But definitely start with book one if you are new to the series or you will be lost. You will not be disappointed!!

What a wonderful ending to a great series, I have been a fan of Heather's for what feels like forever and this book does not disappoint. I immersed myself in October Land and soaked up the atmosphere of Autumn and Halloween which is my favourite time of year. Logan certainly has her work cut out for her in this story and there is never a dull moment. The reader is taken on a roller coaster ride filled with plenty of hair-raising moments complimented by tender scenes where Logan's empathy is kicked into overdrive and I found myself on Team Sam more than once throughout this book. You can tell it's a good story when you come to the last pagpe and you keep pressing your kindle button hoping for a litte more yet nothing happens. All the characters were well rounded and had a life of their own yet were an integral part of Logan's journey. When confronted with the reality of her dreams coming true, what will she choose and is it worth sacrificing everything for those she loves. If you have not read this series before then do yourself a favour and put it on your TBR pile immediately.

I wanted to rate this Trilogy higher but I did not like the ending.
Sam was a pain in the A$Z! for all three books.
He was Mean and Evil and Condescending.
He threatened Logan, did awful things, and harmed her classmates as well as her friends.
Sam had no redeeming qualities, NONE.
I could not believe at the end of book 3,
Logan says to herself that she was in love with Sam,
Really?
How?
Why?
WTF?
I do not like that she had to make a deal with the devil to save her friends at the end of book 3.
So, she is kissing Dom during the day and
willingly dream sharing with Sam at night???
That seems like cheating to me..

I do not like how the witch, Ciara, did not have free will.
She went through alot to escape Sam and in the end she ended up with him anyway.
She cast a spell to avoid him, that.. should.. say.. something.
I do not want to hear about FATE, that is BS!

There is nothing romantic about forced relationships and a stalker.
This was not a romance story, it was a horror story...
The author should have written a better ending.

- Totally Disappointed.

What a wild ride! This trilogy should truly be made into a movie as the writing is so creatively colorful and allows the reader to believe they are in the realm of Halloween. The descriptions and character development are both incredibly rich, and the storyline has the perfect balance of fright, passion and devotion to all that is Halloween. I love the fall and Halloween is likely one of my most favorite holidays so if I could have crawled into this series, I would have!

Thank you Heather for finishing the trilogy and making your world so very real. I look forward to The Third Kiss!!!!

I think the thing that I love most about HKW's books (other than the HOT men) is her ability to describe each scene in such vivid detail. You can see Samhain's castle or Logan's dress as if it were in front of you. The first two books in this series really built up the characters & the tension between all of them. I thought this book ended the series very well. I loved what HKW wrote at the end of the book. I can't wait to read whatever HKW writes next!

I thoroughly enjoyed this final installment of The October Trilogy. The imagery was amazing and there was just the right mix of action and down time. I would have loved more from Samhain's POV but the story is great as is. I thought the ending was good for the story that was set, but man, I really want to how what happens in 70 years, give or take! Also, I so want Logan's masquerade dress!

I highly recommend this series.

The terror

The absolute terror it was to read through this book. So far the worst suggested book for me to read but I'll forgive my friend!
This author is unoriginal, repetitive, boring, annoying, a million other accusatory adjectives that I can't be bothered to type out.
If you like twilight mixed with unicorn corpses covered in heir last bowel movements- this trilogy is for you. Enjoy. If my copy wasn't digital I would burn it.

Let me start by saying I love to read anything paranormal.
When I first came across Sam I am I couldn't wait to read it. Three books later and I am so glad I picked this series. I am a big fan of Heather 's writing. She weaves a web and you are stuck. I didn't want it to end, but it was a great one.

I highly recommend the October trilogy. Halloween is my all time favorite and these books capture the essence and spirit so well and spin it into a story so captivating I was unable to stop reading until I had read them all!

Very satisfying ending to an excellent series. I love how the author made you care about the villain and even he would eventually get his own happy ending since he wasn't completely evil; just misguided.

I didn't think it was possible for it to get any better but this is my absolute fav in the trilogy.
Somehow in the end, everyone scored a happy ending. I like that :)

This was a good series but very predictable. I liked how you hated Sam but felt sorry for him at the same time. Definitely worth the read!
